I have a question, If dead is dead, is Locke alive or is the smokey taking the form of his body? I already figured that Christian was most likely dead when the season started but Locke looked pretty alive to me before this episode aired and then Ben said dead was dead, so I don't get it. I don't know if TQQ role for the rest of the series would be something that uninspiring lol.

I don't know. If Smokey was taking the form of Locke, would it have Locke's memories too? If yes, then how can that be?

I'm not sure lol. That's why I wondered because Locke looked really alive when we last saw him, and he looked as if a miracle happened to him haha.

Maybe Locke never died. Remember the island didn't let Jack and Michael kill themselves. So if the island didn't want Locke to die, then I guess he could have survived even Ben's strangling. The island could have made it look like he's dead to the doctors perhaps As we know, the island is a bigger manipulative bastard than Ben.

How could the island have done that when Locke died on the mainland? lol. But I always figured eventually Locke would die so that Jack would become the main of faith, in replacement. I think that would be bad for Terry if his character became a puppet to the smoke monster though lol.

What did you think of Ben's performance lastnight? Did you find him genuine, especially his "good" deeds?

Well, Ben was definitely lying to John about some things, but as far as his sincerity towards children, that seemed good enough. I mean, we had the contrast between Charles and Ben. Charles was cold-hearted enough even to kill the baby, but Ben wasn't. Nor did he kill either of the mothers he went to kill.
So yeah, he was pretty genuine last night, with his fears, with his soft spots, with his feeling of loss. But he was also quite jealous of Locke.

I think there is a contrast between inherently "good" people and children versus the ones who are deemed "bad" and children. Last episode Kate and Sawyer wanted to save Ben, these are the people who have committed murder, and Jack, the hero of the show, wouldn;t have bothered. And then again, we saw that Ben who is the villan of the show, didn't want to kill Danielle and Alex, even though he has done some heinous things in his past. He was quite jealous of Locke, and a bit intimidated too, he always had a jurisdication over the island but now he isn't so sure lol.

What did you think of the ending? It was a bit corny for me lol. With Alex and the smoke monster

Well, it did seem a little bit cheesy with those visions flashing in front of Ben through the smoke monster, but I was overall satisfied. I mean, it's not like they could have done much else there. They aren't going to kill Ben this season. He's too deep a part of the island story.
This episode was such an improvement over last week's and I was relieved to be honest. It's a shame that we have to back and watch the Dharma fools again next week.

I am SO tired of the DI, I just want everyone running around the jungle again running for their lives. I can't believe what we have been watching for the past few weeks. I think that is why I enjoyed lastnight too LOL.

I've enjoyed this season but I feel last season so far was better.

I think that S4 and S5 have been the best of Lost in a long while. I think the show has really gotten back to S1 form.

I liked this last episode. Could have done without Ben's horrible wig and the baby snatching scene appeared tacked on.

Ben's wig completely distracted from the scene, it wasnt even the same color as his natural hair.

What a great episode! My favourite moment by far was "looking for this?" *bang* I laughed so much and it just underlined why this show simply couldn't survive without Ben now, who is absolutely phenomenal.

I have one question. When Lapidis got hit what was that question about?

They asked "what lies in the shadow of the statue?" and I didn't understand that question being asked by them, or why they were so desperate to get guns. It occurred to me that maybe they've been on the island before too and somehow found out about the Ajira flight. Why else would they ask such a weird question about the statue?

Paul, totally agree about that line from Ben. Cracked me up.

I still don't understand Ilana's question. I guess it could be that they had been there before.
