We have seen that the two men conduct themselves quite differently and I think thats the only reason people think Kate "connects" to Sawyer more in that way. In terms of her love for both men, I think Evi did get it right when she said that Kate loves that Sawyer loves her. Which actually sounds kinda terrible. I think she also loves him because they have a lot in common and they're kinda the outsiders because of their (criminal) pasts and that gives them a bond. So, overall I think Kate's love for Sawyer can easily remain as a friendship. While her love for Jack is on this different level because they don't necessarily connect based on surface things in common, but because their souls have found a bond and completion in each other, as you said Franci, a spiritual connection. You made an excellent point that with J/K, it's more than surface. They really get down to the nitty-gritty with each other, challenging each other constantly. It's never stagnant with these two. | beautiful post Di,I totally get what you mean and I agree. We tend to consider J&K's relationship less 'physical' for different reasons but the main reason is because they have always been the one relationship in the triangle with the most spiritual connection while the physical one was represented by skate (aka by sawyer). the physical side of the jate relationship will come eventually.they need to deal with what they feel first,unlike s&k who basically went right THERE immediately and then were like "erm..well..dammit..now what?" and that obviously shows even more how much these two relationships are different. but i agree that jate has everything. it just has so many different layers and they're exploring them through the different seasons.time is finally coming when their relationship comes to the physical layer.i'm not even talking about sex(for now)that's the last step.I mean that time is finally coming when their feelings will be right in fron of them and all they have left is..TOUCH each other.kiss..hug..do something at this point is really just a matter of time. and we have plenty of it well,i gotta jump..in bed night everyone  __________________ J, | |||

More descriptions of Agapic love: Sex is a gift between two people. Agapic love is unconditional. I love how that is phrased, sex is a gift. Beautifully put and what Franci's post actually made me think of in a way, because as she said that will be the last step for them, it will be special. I want to clarify that I don't think Jack and Kate are necessarily there yet, not together anyway. I think that Jack is there but Kate still has some work to do on herself before she can achieve that kind of love with anyone. She's shown signs of it, especially in going back for Jack when he gave her freedom from the Others. So I think once Jack and Kate mutually acknowledge their feelings for each other and begin a relationship, that this is what we will see. Of course that doesn't mean that they'll live happily ever after simply because of their love, they'll need to continue to work on things which I think will be much easier because of the friendship aspect.
