We all have good, bad, ugly relationship.. So why we need to have good relationship when we don't learn the flaws in bad relationship??? I mean, it's why that both should date other to learn what went wrong and realize that both still love each other that nothing can fill that ache in their heart like they do for each other.. And learn to love themselves before they settle down, but not bec of their past (Peyton's mom, Lucas' dad, etc, etc)..

And I really don't see how date some rebound will helped them at all, and it didn't because either character gained anything from either relationship. Erase those relationships and it would have literally no effect on their developments in the slightest
