Pretty much all the character's lives were reversed.

And Karen was having an affair with Keith. Keith was the owner of Scott Motors and was pretty much an a$$ to Dan. In both worlds, Karen and Deb couldn't stand being married to Dan.

Even I don't buy when the adults being like that if Dan choose Karen even I think that he truly love her and I def think that he regrets the decisions he made and he have to make it for rest of his live since I think that Dan truly in love w/ both women in different way and it was hard to think who he truly want even I think that he meant every words he was about to tell Deb before he walked on his brother and his wife.. Poor him..

I don't really feel sorry for Dan though. His decisions to inflict pain on others has been that, his decision. Many times he could've walked away

His choices were his own and he proved time and time again that he only cared about himself and what he wanted, and that he didn't think twice about hurting others. But there were also times where we saw glimpses of a softer, more caring side to Dan.

I'm sure he did love both Karen and Deb, but he was too consumed by his own selfishness and thirst for power/control.

Even I think that his influence was his own father, but I think that it was hard for him that he never understood about love since he haven't gave it to anyone til after he realized what he did.. Like what he said to Whitey in season 6 finale was perfect like you realized now, but feel bad for him..

I don't hate him, but I really enjoy his character because he's very complicating person that it's hard to understanding why he did this or that which I love how he put his acting in this role because I don't think anyone else who play Dan wouldn't be that interesting or doesn't care about his characters like I did w/ other adults characters (Brooke's mom and Peyton's father in sixth season) since they are pointless so far, but not Dan and others from earlier seasons so far..

I remember Whitey saying to Dan "Maybe you're here for redemption" when Dan has the gun pointed at himself and then the two of them hug, the both of them in tears.

It was long scenes in between them, but I really love what Dan said to him about the past what he did was wrong and what Kelly said Whitey said to him was perfect way to say it to him..

It made me wonder that is Dan still keep the touch w/ Whitey because I think that Whitey finally forgive him in that scene because he can tell that Dan truly regrets for everything what he did to his family, his brother and Whitey.. So I probably go w/ that they keep in the touch to check on each other or something like that..
