For 6 weeks assuming the government can afford it. She is just waiting on details. I feel bad for her.

But then again, I am still waiting to hear anything about work myself.

The only thing I’ve heard is we might do online but haven’t heard anything else yet

But they told you you had a job at least.

True but if they aren’t going to open until schools are allowed to reopen then we don’t get paid like if they decide not to do online then it’s just a waiting game on when schools reopen

How can none of us know about jobs.

At least your school doesn’t start for another month

We have less then 2 weeks left before we are supposed to start and she still hasn’t gotten back to us on if we are doing online or in person or what we are doing this semester

Yeah, that is true. And even with that we start a week later than normal.

We haven't even finalized the kids' plans yet so that is actually just as stressful.

I was watching a segment on my local news about how preschools were running during COVID just because they were trying to figure out what schools could learn from the way the preschools were doing it, they said the hardest part was trying to get kids to social distance when they have outdoor play, but basically it was parents/guardians weren’t allowed in the buildings anymore, they had to sign in and out from outside, and the kids had their own materials labeled with their name that only they can use, everything shared was sanitized and cleaned after every use and they did temperatures before kids entered the building

All the rules make sense but then what happens if a child gets sick, how do parents pick up a sick kid if they aren’t allowed inside

But temp checks only go so far anyway since that is not guaranteed. At least with a temp they can't come back for 24 hour fever free.

That’s so true

I get why they do it but it will still take a while to do temp checks on all the kids once schools gets the okay to reopen because most elementary, middle schools and high schoolers have 300+ students even if not all kids are going to school, even half the amount of kids would take a while and having to do that every day takes a lot of time

I swear if Mom tells sister she’s at Costco or going to Costco I’m going to be pissed because that’s one of the few places sister does not want Mom to go too

Why? You have to wear a mask at Costco, what's the big deal?

According to sister it’s too crowded, even with everyone wearing masks but Mom didn’t have a choice, she had to downgrade her membership and they said she can on,y do that in person

ETA: Today is Hope’s birthday, can’t believe she’s already 5, we aren’t celebrating until Sunday with a zoom party like we did with Benjamin

Well, your mom can't be expected to sit at home all day everyday either.
