Kayla, Cathy  What were you doing Cathy? So apparently every time the mom goes on vacation we have to take the kid with us because the school won’t be responsible for him after 3:00 and his grandfather can’t pick him up until 3:30  she’s in New York for at least two weeks and how is it a “suspension” if we take him with us anyway I swear some people should not be parents, take care of your own kid or find alternate childcare, we kicked him out, he’s not our responsibility anymore__________________

We tried that but he obviously can’t wander the streets by himself, you figure the school would have some responsibility but they will kick the kids out even if no one is there to pick the kid up
I still think the mom needs to be responsible and hire someone to watch her kid even if it’s for an hour or two __________________

But again, he could go home for that short amount of time, but the school needs to deal and figure it out. Call CPS if nothing else and say he is out and about by himself.

Oh I agree, even if he doesn’t want to walk home, he can walk the three blocks and take the bus
I don’t think it’s fair for his mom to pass the responsibility onto the school or us every time she wants to take a vacation, it’s her kid, she needs to be a parent and find alternate childcare, it shouldn’t be the school’s job or our job to be that care for you plus I feel like a lot of his issues could be solved if she spent more time with him because his good days were the days when he was with his mom and not his grandparents ETA: at school before class starts but just heard from my manager that a woman was assaulted and hit by a 2x4 right near work this morning  super scary especially since they haven’t found the suspect yet but I walk right by where she was attacked to go to work __________________

Luckily I don’t work today but super scary that it happened so close to the school and work, it was like a block away but hopefully the catch the person before they hurt anyone else
