Upcoming Appearances:

American Dreams:
~ Milo will have a recurring role on the NBC drama American Dreams this year. (The part was written specifically for him after he met with the producers last year. No audition was needed. )
~ He appears in the second episode of the season.
~ Milo will play Chris Pierce. Chris is around 18 or 19 and is a bit of a bad boy/rebel, but not rude the way Jess (Gilmore Girls) could be. He's more likeable. He moves in next door to the Pryor's with his mom who raises him alone. She plays a flight attendant/Playboy bunny. Chris will be Meg's new love interest, sort of like her 'true love'.
~ Chris drives a motorcycle.
~ Chris's mom is being played by actress Daphne Zuniga (She also played Rob Estes' love interest on Melrose Place.)
~ Chris becomes the leader of an anti-war movement.

Info from Showfax sides for his character so far include:
  • Episode 2- 'Charade':
Chris is a student at Meg and Roxannne's Catholic school. Roxanne eyes him. He winks at Meg, but she looks away as if to ignore him.

Later, Meg and Roxanne are in the cafeteria. Chris whistles at them and comments that they have nice legs. It's unclear if he's directing that comment to Meg or Roxanne. Roxanne is amused but Meg is not.

For some reason, Meg and Chris are at the school at night. The doors are locked, and Chris says that they should break in.

    NBC discription:
When the Pryor's meet their new neighbors, they are surprised and shocked to discover that Shelly Pierce (guest-star Daphne Zuniga "Melrose Place") is a single mom, a Playboy Bunny, and that her son, Chris (guest-star Milo Ventimiglia), is old enough to attend East Catholic. As Meg (Brittany Snow) continues her anti-war campaign, she is reprimanded at school by a progressive nun who decides that a better way for Meg to get her message out is to direct Shakespeare's play "Henry V," with a modern day twist.

    Promo Pics:
    1, 2, 3, 4, 5
  • Episode 3- 'Leaders of the Pack':
Meg is organizing the production of a Shakespeare play. Chris is drinking with a bunch of his buddies while listening to a transistor radio. Paul, one of the friends, seems very skeptical that anyone would be interested in doing a school play. Meg, recognizing that Chris is the leader of the group, tries to convince him to come to a meeting regarding the play. He basically says that he's not into plays. Paul offers Meg a beer, but Chris makes a comment that Meg probably doesn't drink.

No one except George Jetson (ha) signs up for the play and Meg is disheartened. Chris is standing near her when she looks at the sign up sheet. He remarks that he can make sure some of the guys will show up for her meeting. She doubts his sincerity, but he says that he can make it happen if she will do him a favor. The favor is for Meg to help him break into the school and change his records.

Later, in the auditorium some students show up for Meg's meeting. Chris is not there and Meg is disappointed. Even Paul shows up. Meg wants to present Shakespeare in an atypical fashion. She wants a live band, and instead of tights, the actors will be wearing fatigues. There is to be some kind of a Vietnam theme. Both Roxanne and Meg talk about the fact that the senior guys will be eligible for the draft as soon as they graduate.

    NBC discription:
After Meg (Brittany Snow) unsuccessfully tries to recruit other students for her play, Chris (guest-star Milo Ventimiglia) makes her an offer that involves breaking and entering in exchange for his and his friends' participation.

  • Episode 4- 'Surround Me':
Chris and Meg are working on some trigonometry problems. Chris tries looking at Meg's paper, and she notices that he hasn't even finished one problem. Chris says that trig is a waste of time. Meg doesn't let him copy and Chris calls her "uptight." Meg says that she isn't uptight. Father Mullins notices them talking and calls for their papers. Meg turns in her paper. Father Mullins looks at Chris' paper and states that Chris hasn't completed one assignment since he came to the school. Chris jokes that he's been busy settling in. Some girls giggle at this comment. Father tells him that he will give him an extra day to complete the assignments.

Later, it's trig class again. Meg notices that Chris is not in class. He comes tardy. Father asks him if he completed the assigments, but Chris says no as he searches for a clever response. Meg interjects that Chris couldn't complete the assigments because he was busy with her. This answer gets Father's attention. Meg obviously lies that Chris had to help her with rehearsal for the play. The priest seems to buy this excuse. After saving him, Meg looks over at Chris but he doesn't look back.

Later on in the episode Chris gets mad at Meg for defending him, saying that he didn't need her to excuse his lack of interest in math. He gives her a sad story about his dad which turns out to be a lie. That makes Meg mad and confused because she likes Chris. He later shows up at play practice because the priest/math teacher expects to see his performance. He turns out to be a very good actor. Everyone is mesmerized by his performance (of course! ) Milo will get to perform a few Shakespeare scenes here.
  • Episode 5- 'So Long, Farewell':
Chris is in this episode. He attends the rehearsal for the play and wonders where everyone is since it was supposed to start at 3 pm. The play happens in this episode. It has an anti-Vietnam war theme.

    Promo pics:
    1, 2, 3, 4
  • Episode 6- 'A Clear and Present Danger':
This episode is dealing with the repercussions of the anti-war theme of the play. Meg and her friends participated, so they're easy targets. This episode features Chris leading the others into another protest of some sort. (Chris becomes the leader of a whole anti-war movement.)

Page 11 (of the sides) has a scene at school. Some kid named Daniel harasses Meg about getting everyone in trouble, because of the play. He makes this comment at the same time that a priest is announcing the importance of the war, because America is fighting "godless Communists." Chris defends Meg and appears ready to fight Daniel. Roxanne seems impressed by Chris's actions.

Page 16. Chris, Meg, Patty and some others are meeting in the girls' bathroom. Chris is suggesting that they stir things up again, but Patty is hesitant, because she cares about her academic record. Chris states that the play was nothing and he and Meg suggest that they should meet somewhere safe, away from Father Cassidy and the school. Patty comments that they can't meet at her house because of her dad. A girl comes into the bathroom and asks, "Isn't this the girls' bathroom?" Chris just smiles and says yes.

Page 18. Chris comments that it was quite a night. He and Meg are sitting in an empty classroom waiting to be called in (I guess into Father Cassidy's office). Meg is very nervous.

Page 28. Chris and the others are meeting at Meg's house because her parents are away for the weekend. They are planning their next anti-war action. Chris wants to raid the draft files and shred the files. Somebody else suggests smearing red paint on them to make it look like blood. Chris wants to use real blood, as in some kid named Robert's (a tattletale at school). A girl wants to do something that doesn't involve the other students. She's upset at how everyone was talking about her. Chris could care less about those other students. His only concern is that the war is wrong.

Page 29. Chris wants to spray paint a huge peace sign on the side of the school. Just then, there is a sudden crash. Glass shatters and we see a brick on the floor.
  • Episode 7- 'What Dreams May Come':
Chris is definitely in at least one scene.

Chris is participating in an anti-war protest in Washington, D.C. He calls Meg who is staying at a hotel in D.C. She is excited to hear from him and she asks him to speak louder because she can hardly hear him. She keeps telling him to speak louder because of the crowd noise.

My guess: Meg is in D.C. with her dad, who is visiting a government official about JJ. According to the script, it's Thanksgiving time and the family has learned that JJ is considered MIA. Sad.

    Additional story information:
After Chris stars in the school play, he tells Meg thanks for letting him wear JJ's marine uniform. They then become romantically involved. Chris wants to paint a peace sign on the school building, Meg is hesitant, but they do it and get caught. I think they are then suspended.
When Chris is in Washington DC, he is supposed to meet Meg because she is there with her father. She doesn't meet him because her family learns that JJ is MIA and she can't tell Chris. Chris meets some very radical anti-war people who tell him that they are coming to Philly.

  • Episode 8- 'The Light That Never Goes Out':
(page 8 of script) - At school, Father Cassidy welcomes Meg back and he tells her that mass was offered up for JJ that morning. He seems concerned at how she's doing. Chris and Meg see each other and smile. A girl named Becky O'Connor is speaking about an assembly that the school is having to honor the former students who are in Vietnam. Becky asks Meg to speak about JJ, but Meg seems distraught at this request. Meg unexpectedly leaves the room. Chris jumps up to go after her, but Father Cassidy stops him and tells him to show respect to Ms. O"Connor. Chris obeys and doesn't follow Meg.

(page 20) - Meg smiles at Chris and he asks her why she's smiling at him, but she just says, "Nothing."

(page 27) - At school, Chris is trying to convince Meg to speak at the assembly. Meg is surprised that Chris wants her to do it. Chris says that they could paint a hundred peace signs, but that would never be as powerful as if Meg talked about a real person, her brother.

(page 34) - At school, Meg is gathering up her stuff to leave, and Chris wants to know where she's going. Meg, clearly upset, is close to tears. Chris apologizes for what he said earlier. Meg makes a comment that Chris is right about JJ. Her brother is never coming home.

(page 44) - Meg's home. She is trying to relax by watching an old movie. Chris raps at her window. He's only in a t-shirt and jeans and it's 20 degrees outside. Meg wonders why he's there and if he's cold. Chris says that he came up with a good idea.

(page 51) - Chris and Meg are on the roof of an apartment building. Meg wonders why they are there. Chris states that there is supposed to be a meteor shower that night. He thought that it might be something to cheer her up. Meg appreciates his gesture. This scene cuts off just as it seems that they are going to have a serious talk.

Spoiler not related to Chris: Beth (JJ's girlfriend) has his baby at the end of the episode. He's named John Pryor III. The family is scared because JJ is MIA.
  • Episode 9- 'Tidings and Comfort':
At the high school, an army recruiter has set up a table and is talking to the young guys. Meg sees the table and gets upset.

Later, Chris and his older friends are hanging out smoking and talking about their next anti-war protest. Meg is there. She's happy to be with the guy who she loves, and she's excited about their next protest. Since it's around Christmas, the guys say that there will be a pro-peace vigil. Chris met his friends, Jason and Mike, in D.C. at the rally.

There is another scene with the Pryors having dinner and Chris and his mom are there too.

Chris, his friends, and Meg go to a recruiter's office. Jason breaks the wondow. The guys have a plan that doesn't sit well with Meg. She starts to leave, and Chris asks her why she's leaving. Meg says that she thought they were going to do something else like painting a peace sign again. Chris states that they have to do more. Meg asks Chris if he is leaving with her, but he doesn't. Meg leaves, disturbed at the guys' actions. Chris takes a bucket of red paint into the building. Mike lights a homemade bomb and Chris throws it through the window. Then we see the explosion.

    Additional story information:
While they are in Philly, the anti-war people stay with Chris. Those people, with Chris and Meg (I think) throw a molotov cocktail into a induction center and a janitor is burned. Meg is very upset and asks Chris if he knew that these people were planning this and he lies to her. When her Uncle Pete, the policeman, questions Meg about their whereabouts, she lies and says they were at the movies. She is very conflicted because she is in love with Chris, believes in the cause, but abhors the violence.

Spoiler not related to Chris: JJ comes home and meets his baby son. He has a serious leg injury, but it's unclear if he comes home because of that, or because there is a truce for Christmas. He tells Meg that he will probably be doing desk duty after he gets better. All of this happens close to the end of the episode.
~ Milo doesn't have too many scenes with Daphne in his later episodes.
~ Milo has been asked to film an additional episode, which will give him a total of 9 with more to come if the back 9 episodes are picked up.

Dirty Deeds:
~ Milo is starting work (in mid-April) on a new indie film called 'Dirty Deeds'
~ The film is a teenage version of the mythical 12 Labors of Hercules, where a quiet high school senior balances the everyday struggles of small-town life while attempting a series of legendary challenges that are so difficult that people are afraid to even attempt them, nevermind finish them. Milo plays the lead in the film- his character's name is Zach Harper.
~ It also stars Lacey Chabert (Party of Five, Lost in Space).
~ There's a scene where Milo's character and a friend are driving along... with a body in the back! The body is sitting in the back seat of a convertible, covered with a sheet that keeps falling off as Milo's character and his friend drive. There is also a police car right behind them too!

Cursed:
~ Milo plays 'Bo Turner'- described in the script as a 17 year old high school jock/stud/a**hole.
~ This horror film about werewolves is directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson (from the 'Scream' films).
~ Milo originally filmed a wrestling scene in it that may or may not end up in the final version.
~ Milo's character does survive at the end of the film.
* This film's opening has been postponed to next spring, at the earliest.

Gilmore Girls:
* Before you ask: It is not known if Milo will ever return to Gilmore Girls. He's pretty busy with other stuff right now. (See above. )

I'm hoping we get at least one good Jess/Luke convo at the weading.

Milo in a suit....yum

Ok, I know we're supposed to love him for his acting ability, and we do. But..I mean, is there anything wrong with appreciating the other lovely aspects of his person?

::raises right hand::

I respect Milo as an actor, as a person with a private life, and as a person with emmence talent that will ultimtly lead him to be a big huge star that 'forgets' Jess and us Dogers will only be able to look at the wayside and be proud as hell to say that we 'knew' him when.
That being said.....

Milo with long hair in a suit....

From TV Guide:

Luke confronts Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) about his selfish behavior after he refuses to participate in Liz's wedding;

Well, I'm glad that Jess changes his mind. You know what would have been a better ending to Rory/Jess? Rory sees Jess at the wedding reception in Stars Hollow. (of course she doesn't go to the wedding) She comments something about being happy for Liz even though she doesn't know her. She relates how she wants her own mom to get married some day. She says something like, "You're happy for her too, right? Even just a little?" Jess nods. She asks about his dad and California. Jess responds with,"I really like it there. You would too. Weather's perfect and the music is the best." Rory: "Well, maybe one day I'll go."

The dialogue wouldn't be as dry as mine, and there would be some kind of witty comment here and there. The point is it wouldn't be angst-filled, just some friendly meaningful conversation.

I like that there seems to be some Luke/Jess closure. Jess came there because he and his mom didn't see eye to eye. I'm glad he can be there for her and finally take advice from Luke. Hopefully we can see him be even grateful to Luke, but I'm still not sure Jess is there yet (sadly).

I was thinking about how they leave Rory and Jess. You know, Jared wasn't supposed to originally be back for those last 6 episodes. Chicken and Beef could possibly have been it. I think the thing is that Amy doesn't have the guts to end one of Rory's relationships completely. Because if Jess leaves like this, a few people are still going to be watching the show (posting on theWB.com fanboards) that "Jess should come back!!!" (I concur, but not in such a girly way ).

Besides, maybe she just wants to leave it open because she doesn't know what the end will be. We still don't know how/if Rory reacts about all this. Perhaps Amy wants it open for the finale.

Yet, I say, once again: It's sad that Jess thinks he cannot be happy without Rory.

Thanks for posting that Curly.

What I don't care for regarding Milo's final scene with Rory is... well, part of what I loved about season 2 Jess began to be stripped from him in season 3- his confidence. In this scene we see him so unhappy without Rory that he's almost dependent on her for happiness. It's like they're trying to explain his tailspin of unhappiness on the fact that he doesn't have Rory in his life. I can't see season 2 Jess doing what he does in this scene- begging her to be with him. They've changed his character and made him weak.

I'm looking forward to everything but this final moment- but hopefully the way Milo plays it out will change my views here and make it feel more realistic and true to his character. Milo has already done that in the past so

I agree with what you're saying. He's the guy who dated Shane because he wouldn't wait like Dean would've done, for crying out loud. I don't know why but the writers don't seem to find a needed balance for Jess. Or they make him way tough and careless for other people's feelings or a weak?. I also hope that Milo saves the script's lacking balance but depending on how it's written there's so much he can do.

True, Kelly, but a lot has changed since then.

In season 2, Jess was confident about not needing anyone in his life. He never let anyone in. He wasn't going to worry about school because he was just going to live whereever.

Then at the end of season 3, he realized that he was scared of what would happen. That, sure, it all sounded good, but to see that he "failed" really hurt him. Not just that, but Rory got to him. He had never had anyone depend on/believe in/give him a chance until Rory (and Luke).

The thing is, when Jess left last year, he went to expand his horizons and hopefully find a life for himself in California. That doesn't mean that there wouldn't be struggles there (hey, what kind of a show is it without struggles, re: the spin off), but there was hope for him. What's changed? The spin-off being cancelled means we can't follow Jess where he goes, but he still had the same send off. Now, instead, they had him not being able to try to move on.

I'm sure that a lot of what Jess is feeling has to do with how happy he was when he was with Rory (some of the reasons have been mentioned above, such as having someone believe in him, etc.). And even if she did "make" him happy, it's sad to think that he believes he needs her to be happy. I think he just thinks it, more than it is true.

I'm still wondering why Amy left such an open end for his character, in regards to Rory. We know she's a Jess fan just be the fact that she wanted him to have his own show. It's unsettling that on his (possible) final scene, he's not at peace.

Well said, Marissa. I totally agree. If we can't know/see how he's handling his life outside of SH, at least I'd like to think that he's at least happy/at peace. Not still clinging to someone who told him she was going to let it go and wasn't going to pine... But I guess that was too much to hope for.

I'm also hoping for Jess/Luke to 'reconcile' their differences, I'd be real happy if Jess said he was sorry and would, in a roundabout way, let Luke know that he's grateful for what he did for him... that Luke didn't 'fail' him but he 'failed' himself...

I'm most concerned about the way things end with Luke and Jess, right now. They appear to be ending on a high note which makes me happy. I think that Luke and Jess don't have a lot of family and need eachother in their lives.

Marissa, I find the fact that Jess leaves without saying anything else unsettling too. Why can't the writers let him be happy, even if it's just for a moment?

Kelly, I see what you're saying about Jess's sudden turn around in regards to his confidence. I loved that about Season Two Jess, his blind confidence and wit, like the scene in There's the Rub on the Gilmore porch between him and Dean; I loved that.

I'm really hoping that Milo plays that last scene as Jess finally taking control of his life. He goes to Yale to find out 'what if' and get some closure. He tells Rory that she knows they're supposed to be together and that the only person she's lying to is herself. He's honest with her and instills his confidence in the conversation, resulting in a triumphant Jess leaving Yale knowing that he tried and couldn't have done anything else. That's how I'd like that scene to end.

I think the fact that it appears Jess can't be happy without Rory is aggravating. In the end Rory couldn't make him happy either, she couldn't even be completely honest with him about her friendship with Dean, the fact that she wanted a friendship with him. She didn't even give Jess the luxury of an arguement. In a lot of ways Rory bottles up her feelings just as much as Jess does, she denys freeing herself with the truth. The only time she actually got angry at Jess was their last meeting and look how Jess reacted! I think his reaction was key, that time he felt her anger and knew he had to be completely honest with her.

In season three I think Jess felt like his problems were second to Rory's problems. In his mind she was trying to make something of herself which he didn't think was possible for him; she was leaving him behind. If Rory had really cared about what happened to Jess, schoolwise, she could have made sure he was staying on track and allowed him time to do so. She would have assured him that when she went to Yale things between them wouldn't change. They had one discussion about Rory going to Yale and it only involved Jess telling her how far away it was. I think that showed that he was already worried about what would happen when she left. In a way his leaving for California was a way to leave her behind, before she left him.

In the end how much did Rory even know about Jess? Not a whole lot.
