Do you think Peter should eventually get 'all' his powers back, or just one power back, so that he isn't as powerful as they had him before?

I'd like to see him get all of his powers back except "the hunger". I guess the last three season have stumped the writers in terms of Peter being all powerful that he needs a kryptonite in the form of amnesia, stupidity, evilness. I think they ran out of ideas and decided to take it all away. :roll_eyes:

Big shakeup on the staff of NBC's "Heroes" came down on Sunday with the axing of co-exec producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb.
Both scribe-producers had been with the show since its first season and were known to have led the day-to-day production operation under the direction of creator/exec producer Tim Kring.

"Heroes," produced by Universal Media Studios, has struggled in the ratings its third season. It's understood that Alexander and Loeb were let go because of Peacock execs' frustration with the creative direction of the show. The show is also said to have been grappling with hefty budget overruns this season, that are going well beyond its already sizable $4 million per-seg pricetag.

Reps for NBC and UMS declined comment.

I heard about that on the news this morning. I think it's sad they were there from the start and were a big part of the show. It'll be interesting to see how the cast and rest of the staff respond, since they seem like such a family.

Do we know if they were fired affect now, or do they have until the end of the season? I don't think this season is that bad, but it's a business and when you have that much money on the line you have to do, what you have to do.

First come the firings then comes the end. Unless a miracle happens then this doesn't bode well for Heroes. I just hope they let Vol. 4 go to completion so that the writers can close the show with a good ending.

I hope they don't cancel Heroes but things don't look good do they?

The series hasn't been quite the same since season one. So maybe this is what they need. It's too bad, but maybe it'll be a good thing to get characters back on track and more heart back into the show. Kristen at E! mentioned that Pushing Daisies' Bryan Fuller (he was the co-executive producer of Heroes season one and wrote Company Man) 'could' possibly return. That would be really nice.

I guess I need to be more positive about all this. Maybe it will help. Company Man is widely considered the best single standing Heroes episode. I wish there were more of them instead of the drawn out story arc..sometimes.

It is too bad that Jeph and Jesse had to leave, but it might turn out for the best. I feel badly that the show has slipped in the ratings and quality. Hopefully it can turn around and bring back some of the fans. I don't think that NBC will cancel Heroes, at least not this season. If it stays within a budget and brings in a few more viewers it will probably be renewed for a 4th season.

The catchphrase from the first season of "Heroes" was "save the cheerleader." This season, it could be "save the scripts."
With the NBC fantasy-drama taking a hit in the ratings and falling short creatively in the eyes of many fans and crix, series creator-exec producer Tim Kring has been under pressure to make some changes. There's been a feeling that he's delegated too much responsibility for writing and story development to his top writing lieutenants, co-exec producers Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb (Daily Variety, Nov. 3).

On Sunday, at the prodding of NBC execs, Kring made the tough call to let Alexander and Loeb go from the show that the duo had helped shepherd since season one. Kring has assured NBC and Universal Media Studios brass that he intends to focus on simplifying what's been criticized, even by ardent fans, as an overly complex storytelling structure to get back to the show's comicbookish good vs. evil themes and to emphasize character development more than plot twists.

Insiders close to the situation emphasize that Kring has been a hands-on and diligent showrunner. The big problem is that the show's large ensemble cast and intense f/x and post-production requirements suck up a lot of his time. And "Heroes," already one of primetime's priciest hours at $4 million-plus per seg, has been grappling with budget overruns.

Now, the thinking is that his focus is needed most in breaking stories and refining the tone of the show for the remainder of its third season.

"Heroes" is averaging 10.4 million viewers and 5.1 rating/12 share in adults 18-49 so far in its third season. That marks a 21% drop in total viewers and an 18% decline in adults 18-49 from its second season (which was cut short by the writers strike), even with delayed DVR viewing factored in. Nonetheless, it is NBC's highest-performing scripted series.

The multiplatform success of "Heroes" in its first season made Kring a sought-after speaker at industry events and confabs. He's traveled far and wide to tubthump the show and discuss its evolution through online extensions, vidgames, licensing and merchandising and other ancillary biz opportunities.

But one upcoming speaking event may now prove a little awkward: On Nov. 15, Kring is skedded to appear at the Screenwriting Expo at the L.A. Convention Center, with Alexander and Loeb.

Thanks for that article Kelly, sounds promising.

I kinda think that season one of Heroes was really big and it's like how do you top that and I think the writers tried to more special effects and have more twists and surprises. It's like those movies that have a really small budget the for the first film and then it's this big thing and then they do a sequel and they up the budget and try to out do themselves and then it just doesn't work.
