the best news is that they are focusing this season in the old characters most of us love , season 2 was a disater because of too many newbies and not interaction between the characters who had more chemistry Paire , Petrelli bros etc, and of course the silly love interests for claire/peter and hiro

well I heard that Hiros love interest is coming back but I may be wrong.
But as for Claire/Peter Im glad that they dont have love interest everytime they try and pair them up with somebody it goes downhill.
It seems like the only romantic relationship is Mohinder/Maya which I really dont mind.

are they revisiting old romantic relationships from S1 as well that didnt meet a tragic fate Or is it all family?

I don't think so. To be fair, I think with the darkness of this season, there won't be much time for romantic plotlines

Milo said at the BAFTAs that he doesn't think the producers trust Peter with a romantic interest anymore and Hayden's interview with Kristen confirmed she won't be having one either

Well Claire might still have a love interest latter in the season Hayden has only read up to ep. 8. But as far as I can tell their is only going to be one couple in S3 maybe two.

I actually love the romance storylines in S1 with the exception of Peter/Simone b/c I thought that was out of charctarstic or at least the part when they started dating right after she broke up with Simone and the um bed scene. But the rest of the long and short term ones I liked.

I loved Peter/Simone. Not that I loved her but it was part of the human element. And how awesome was it that they were an interracial couple? Very awesome!!!

I liked Simone...but I liked her better with Isaac than Peter. I dunno, I didn't have a problem with her apart from her juggling two men around

I wanted to hug Peter when he saw her with Isaac. But yeah, it was very realistic 'cause those kind of things happen.

Simone and Isaac was worst couple in Heroes.I hate them both

All Peter's love interests were horrible.So I prefer Peter rather be single.

I didnt like the Peter/Simone pairing b/c it was obvious she wasnt in love with him back and she had love Isaac.
But I think Peter should remain single I think that all his love interest were horriable, and end tragically.
But Peter isn't the only one to have love interest that end tragically pretty much everyone in the series at least had one or all their relationships that we seen end that way.
