Loving it!!) yeah so that, haha and finally realized you spoke to me earlier about The Time Traveler's Wife!!! How could I have forgotten that!! After what you have told me, I definitely want to see the movie with Rachel McAdams in it!! ![]() __________________ Watch live. Save Heroes. | I used to picky about books being turned into movie but know I'm okay if there is an actor or actress I like like Alexis Bledel or Rachel Mcaddams I'm like as long as the characters are true to the ones in the book and the acting is good I over look it and they get the main themes in the book __________________ Its amazing how you can speak right to my heart Without saying a word you light up the dark | |||

| The reason I'm usually disappointed in the movies that come from books that I like is because when I read a book, I picture in my mind what the characters look and act like based on the description by the author. Books also go into greater depth than movies can. Movies often leave out important events or emotions. I guess I create my own world when I read a book, and when I watch the movie it is someone else's perception or creation of the book. The one book that I read before the movie and actually liked the movie better than the book was the Godfather by Mario Puzo. IMO one of the best movies ever made. __________________ Whoever made this avatar: Thanks and pm me and I'll give you the credit | |||

| Godfather was a book? I didn't know that. I guess the one movie I liked than the book was the second Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie at least the parts taken from the fourth book which was my least favorite. The movie got rid of a plot I didn't like and other reasons. I think the best movie interpretation of a book, was the Kenneth Branagh Much Ado about Nothing, One Flew over the Cooko's Nest, Pride and Prejudice and some other Jane Austen stuff I saw on PBS when they had that marathon, and the Wizard of Oz mostly because I grew up with that movie, and some other movies that I can't come to think about. I get what your saying that's the problem when I read a book after I watch the movie first i see the actors instead of my interpretation. I also hated when they use the covers of the movies on the books. Like with the Talented Mr. Ripley that I read for a class I didn't see the movie but Matt Damon and Jude Law were on the cover and I kept seeing them. __________________ Its amazing how you can speak right to my heart Without saying a word you light up the dark Last edited by fox24 : 09-13-2009 at 09:56 AM. | |||

| Shakespeare and Jane Austin are sometimes hard to read, and that is why I sometimes like the movie adaptations of their works. I just finished watching "Sense and Sensibility" ( a Jane Austin novel) on television. I love that movie and watch it every time I see that is on cable. I highly recommend it and the movie makes me want to read the book. __________________ Whoever made this avatar: Thanks and pm me and I'll give you the credit | |||

| I agree with all of you who said that a book leaves you more room for interpretation. Normally I'd rather read the book first and then see the movie to compare it to the filmmakers perspective. I also enjoyed the movie "Pride & Prejudice" (I've not seen the BBC version yet) as much as the book. I also found the film "The Devil Wears Prada" quite entertaining (to be honest I love it!), even though it is so different from the book!! (and the book is quite nice as well!). Wheras with Lords of the Rings, I prefer the movie instead of the book. (even if the film skips some plot) I haven't read all of the books though. I guess the fantastic landscapes in New Zealand (graphics) help alot to set the mood & scenes for the movie. Same thing with "He's not that into you". The book was too repetitive, whereas the film had much more flow and was more entertainig. __________________ Watch live. Save Heroes. Avatar by rafatel | |||

| Well He's Just Not that into you, was more of a guide book than a book with a plot so of course the movie was more entertaining. I love the Devil Wears Prada I think the movie made Miranda a bit more sympathetic or human than the book but I still loved both versions. I tried reading Lord of the Rings book but I couldn't really get into them so I liked the movie. I agree Shanti because Shakespeare and Austen do make good adaptions because of there tough content at times __________________ Its amazing how you can speak right to my heart Without saying a word you light up the dark Last edited by fox24 : 09-14-2009 at 06:08 PM. | |||

I agree Melrose Place is better than 90210, could be because I didn't see MP on a regular basis where as for me nothing will compare to the O.G. BH 90210!! Quote:

| I had never really watched "How I Met Your Mother" before, so I tried to watch some episodes this summer, and I just didn't find it that funny. I do love NPH, though, even if I don't find him that funny on the show. Maybe I should give it another chance. __________________ Whoever made this avatar: Thanks and pm me and I'll give you the credit | |||

| Master Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It's weird, I don't find HIMYM that funny either, but I like the storylines so I keep watching anyways. And yeah, NPH is really good. I hate that it's the same time as Heroes but I don't have a tv here anyways, so I'll have to watch them both online the next day. ![]() I really liked Melrose Place as well. I was just disappointed in Ashlee Simpson's acting. It's pretty bad... I wish I could watch the Dirty Dancing on ABC Family. It's one of my sister's favorites and she's taking his death hard. I think that combined with just losing Michael Jackson is basically taking away her childhood. (She was an 80s baby, and she loves to dance.) __________________ I wanna touch you. | I don't know if its the humor I like of the show, its not Friends. I guess its the characters I like Barney and Robin and Lily and Marshall, and their friendship. Poor sister I can only imagine how it must feel like. Yeah Aslee is the weakest link on the show, but some of the other ones are pretty good. __________________ Its amazing how you can speak right to my heart Without saying a word you light up the dark | |||
