Heroes actor Milo Ventimiglia sports this season’s sharpest khaki business suits

Milo Ventimiglia (finally) grows up

Milo Ventimiglia, 30, has a talent for dodging bullets. First there was a planned ‘Gilmore Girls’ spin-off that went belly-up, leaving the kid free to join NBC’s ‘Heroes.’ Then there was ‘Rocky Balboa’—he played Stallone’s son—a bad idea on paper that became the surprise hit of 2006. More recently, it was a reported relationship with costar Hayden Panettiere, who was (gulp) just 17 when they met. Here, we confront perhaps the luckiest man alive.

GQ: It seems like you’ve aged a decade since the first season of ‘Heroes.’ What gives?

Milo: Going through my twenties playing a teenager was kind of rough. I just finally put on a little man-weight. My face changed. Nothing I could do about it, man. It was a ****ing train I could not stop.

GQ: The writers’ strike shut down television production. What did you do with all that free time?

Milo: I’m busy as ever. I’ve got a production company. I did two movies before Christmas—one with Gerard Butler, and then one called ‘Chaos Theory,’ with Rhys Coiro. I really wanted to work with Rhys.

GQ: Uh, who is Rhys Coiro?

Milo: Do you watch ‘Entourage’? You know the crazy director, Billy Walsh? That’s Rhys Coiro.

GQ: I love that young Hollywood watches ‘Entourage.’ That’s like me watching a reality show about Jews in publishing.

Milo: My friends definitely ask me: “Would I be Turtle or Drama?” I’m like, Dude, you’re my friend. This is real life and that’s a TV show. But I’m a fan. I don’t necessarily go out and party and live that lifestyle.

GQ: Right, HALO. That’s what the blogs are calling you and Hayden. Does the nickname bug you?

Milo: You know what, man—it makes me smile.

GQ: If you two are dating, why not just say so? I read you bought the girl a ring from Tiffany’s!

Milo: When you’re in the public eye, you try to keep whatever you can private. People can speculate and talk. But what can you do—stop living your life?

GQ: Hayden was GQ’s Obsession of the Year. Did you like those photos?

Milo: Yes, I did. They were very nice.

GQ: Last question: You played Stallone’s son in ‘Rocky Balboa.’ Great movie. But the guy is starting to look like a Picasso. What’s that face look like up close?

Milo: He’s a good-looking guy. If I look like Sly at 60, I’ll be pretty happy myself.

OMG! OMG! This has got to be one of the sexiest Milo photoshoots ever. I want to see the outtakes. Guh. Thud. Soooo gorgeous. Died and gone to Milo heaven. I've yet to buy a Milo magazine but this might be the first. I want those in glossy. BTW: why is the interview so short?

No offense, but this article doesn't say anymore than what we already knew. We also don't know that he "loves" the nickname. It just makes him smile, which could mean a multitude of things.

Hayden's comments were made in November. I think that Milo's comments were basically saying that people should mind their own business when it comes to his private/dating life.

The scowls on Milo's face whenever he is photographed by paparazzi tells me that he finds anyone's intrusion into his private life deplorable. As for the Halo smile comment he might find it amusing that people have a nickname for him and Hayden. It doesn't mean he loves it or the idea that people gossip about him.

C'mon I think naleyforever has the right to think that Milo loves the nickname, it's just her opinion by the way.
As you said, it could mean a multitude of things, but when someone says that it makes him smile, it's a positive attitude. He probably found it funny, nothing more but you definitely don't smile at something you don't like.


Some people still support Milo and Alexis even if they broke up a long time ago. I hope it's ok to support Hayden and Milo. It takes all kinds (to make a world)
Some may like it, some may not and some don't care. that's life.

I think that Milo doesn't want to comment on it because he perhaps feels that really it is nobody else's business who he dates, and people should focus on his work not his personal life. To be honest, to me, when he said the name HALO makes him smile it was taken to mean more like it made him smile like when you start to laugh not smile out of happiness. As cute as they are together, they just seem like really good friends to me, and I think him not confirming they were together when asked why not just come out and say they are if they are, was like confirming they weren't.

On a different note the photos with the article are great! I espeacially like the one when he holding the phone and sitting on the desk.
