I wondered initially why ASP made it a point to say that haven't kept in touch much since the end of the show.

My theory...if they regularly kept in touch and she was still carrying on with Logan, then Jess would be friend zoned forever and that would be the end of that. I think if they had them spending time together over a long period of time, and they hadn't rekindled any romantic feelings between them, then it's never gonna happen.

Also if they were a part of each other's lives there is no way she would be a hot mess like she ended up.

Yeah, I don't think that Amy thought about that, but if Jess was a part of Rory's life, I think he would've kept her grounded. Instead, she ended up in a bad relationship and Logan's lover.

your last theory is my part, Jess was always fixing Rory so yeah with Jess around she would have had her life together.

And that's exactly where Amy wanted her. So she could be impregnated by the parallel to her father, utter those final 4 words, and fulfill the full circle business.

yup exactly ^

which is why I prefer the final scene in S7 so much more than the one in the revival

I wonder what it would've been like if the Lit window scene was the final shot of the revival

I know I feel the show wasn't about that, so for it to end that way was really disappointing. And now it look back at the way it ended with all the woman empowerment movement and what the character of Rory once was, was reduced to being the other woman.

Interesting thought, I think that final shot did imply that Jess still felt something, but I don't know how I would want to Jess to react having another person's baby. I know everyone says he's Rory's Luke but I kind of wanted Jess to be more, not a second choice. I would really want Rory to have to work to get Jess.

Rory ended up like her mother and wasn't even trying to fix her life. I thought that she would follow her dream to be a successful journalist. She doesn't need Jess only when she's in trouble and he has to tell her the right way out. They really share more than one interests. Like the same writers, even same taste at music. Why she only has to NEED him? Why she didn't realize how ****ed up her life was on time, and keep doing the same mistakes over and over again? See, this is what I don't get!

I liked how Jess' life turned out to be though.

And how he looks now.
