Episode 3.23: '1961'

Episode description: THE HAUNTING SECRETS OF ANGELA PETRELLI’S PAST CAN’T STAY BURIED FOREVER – As Nathan (Adrian Pasdar), Claire (Hayden Panettiere), Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) and H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) help Angela (Cristine Rose) uncover her past, she reveals the dark secrets that have haunted her for years. Meanwhile, Mohinder (Sendhil Ramamurthy) learns of his father’s involvement in a long forgotten government operation. Diana Scarwid, Alexa Nikolas, Laura Marano, Ravi Kapoor, Casey Kringlen, H. This episode is the new Company Man.

Really they answered the sock question! I mean when she told her sister I have socks for you, I was like they just answered a question from the pilot episode, it was great how it all came together.

The black and white scenes were amazing, and seeing all the characters young it was a really nice back story to everyone I liked that Angela was like the leader, and this episode explained a lot about why she is the way she is.

Peter speech to Nathan was nice, I like how he used the baseball story because that is something that brothers would upset about, who got to go to one game. His speech at the end to, was perfect about how they are family and everything, he seems to have taken after Angela.

Will be re-watching this episode, looking forward to the next two...I've noticed the fewer the names in opening the better the ep, having only one story at a time really seems to be working for them.

LOL Maybe that's why Peter is her favorite cuz he reminds her so much of herself LOL. I could have sworn I posted here guess not. Any who I loved the episode two I loved the Peter/Mohinder scenes and Peters anger towards every one, he has a dang right to be angry with every one. I have a feeling Alice will be a villain in the next Volume but who knows...My favorite scene was the ending when the family was all together I like how Noah is included in the Petrelli family so cute. I liked Nathan's face when Sylar came on as him HA So confused who the hell is that? Made me LOL. I also loved what Peter said to Claire at the begining "Look at how he charmed you, don't worry it happens to every one" I think that's pretty much how it went. Over all yah good episode, every time I watch that scene of Sylar/Nathan on TV gives me chills, its Dujvu cuz we all saw it happen in 5 Years Gone LOL. Really cool scene I must say.

I thought it was good. i liked that we saw the origins of the company. Some viewers couldn't understand how these "teenagers" could form a company, but I believe it had to take place over many years as they matured and gained experience. Some viewers also questioned how Chandra Suresh could forget about what happened in 1961, but they must not have paid attention to Angela saying that the company erased memories, even killed people to protect their secrecy. The company's original mission was to change the world for the greater good while keeping the "heroes" identities secret from the government and the public. Their means didn't always justify the ends, but with this episode we could at least begin to understand why.

Of course Milo was wonderful. I wish he wasn't so easily forgiving of Nathan, but I guess he still hopes that things will turn out for them as a family.

It was a good episode but, well... I have to say I was disappointed by it. Some parts felt flat and I thought the writing could have been a lot better. It bothers me, because this was the episode I was looking forward to the most. I thought the previous Peter/Angela scenes in the church were more rewarding than anything in this episode. I think I would have prefered it if it had just been Peter, Nathan, and Angela there, without HRG, Claire, and Mohinder, so that it had more time to focus on them.

That's a perfect example of my issue with the episode. Instead of a scene where they [finally] really got to the core of their relationship and talked about it honestly, we instead got Nathan saying they need to forgive each other and Peter accepting that. I felt let down by that because there wasn't more meat to it. I also think it would have been great if Peter hadn't left and they had a verbal match in the middle of the storm, as a metaphor, with Angela also there to talk to them too about the three of them as a family, instead of the two of them calmly in a diner.

I loved the explanation of Angela stealing socks and I'm glad they tied that in. I had some problems accepting some things regarding the sister plot, but overall it was nice to see more of Angela's past.

I did enjoy the episode, I just thought it could have been written better. I wish Bryan Fuller had written this one.

Its nice to see Heroes stopped falling and gained some viewers back.

Yah all it needed was more Peter and it rose in the ratings HAHA. I wish Peter would have said "Excuse me? What do you have to be angry at me for? For what? Taking down dad's plan? Or is it your ego that needs this?"

Sure if it had been just Nathan/Peter/Angela we could have prob gotten some good anger bust out moments from Peter. But than we wouldn't have had some good friendship moments between Mohinder and Peter. Also I like Noah so I was glad he was included in as a family member with them, so cute really..

I thought the casting of the young Angela was very well done. Not so much the young Alice. Not that the actress wasn't good, just that she didn't resemble Diana Scarwid.

I think it was Peter observing Angela and Alice and how being unforgiving can ruin someone's life that made him decide that they should forgive and work together. I think Peter also realized that Nathan really was ready to own up to his mistake and try to change things. Besides he really can't help but love his brother, no matter what. I do agree that the dialogue left much to be desired.

I didn't get that either. Maybe for shooting him, but that was future Peter so

Exacly that was Future Peter who did it so it doesn't count. I don't know what Nathan has to be angry at Peter for, maybe Peter taking down his first plan. But that's stupid

Yup two episodes left. My how time fly's, seems like only yesterday we were waiting for the first episode of Volume 4. Now will go back to waiting for Volume 5 boo.

Maybe, Peter is the only character I'm interested in, the other characters I haven't really seem to be able to care for. I might still watch since I can't think of anything else on at Monday's at 9 that I would want to watch, but if I missed an episode it wouldn't be a big deal.
