Episode 3.14: 'A Clear And Present Danger'

Episode description: THEY’RE COMING TO GET YOU! – EMMY AWARD-WINNER ZELJKO IVANEK GUEST STARS AS “THE HUNTER” AS “HEROES” THIRD SEASON CONTINUES WITH “VOLUME 4: FUGITIVES” – Months after explosions brought down Pinehurst and Primatech, our Heroes try to put the past behind them and begin new lives. Now powerless, Hiro (Masi Oka) tries to train a reluctant Ando (James Kyson Lee) to be a true superhero. Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) returns to life as a taxi driver, Peter (Milo Ventimiglia) is back to saving lives, and Daphne (guest star Brea Grant) and Matt (Greg Grunberg) try to live as a normal couple. Claire’s (Hayden Panettiere) attempt to live a regular life is cut short when she uncovers a deadly plot orchestrated by Nathan (Adrian Pasdar) to track down and capture those with abilities. Meanwhile, Sylar (Zachary Quinto) begins the search for his real parents. Jack Coleman, Ali Larter and Cristine Rose also star. Ntare Mwine guest stars.

First episode of 2009, I'm looking forward to it and hoping that this volume will bring things back to they way they were in season 1.

I am so excited for this episode *sqee* Peter back in his paramedic outfit, he looks so fine in it. Plus the promos have me really excited for it.

I really liked this episode. It definitely felt more like a season one episode. Milo was great, as usual. I always like watching it a second time before I comment, so I'll be back later.

The greatest accomplishment of this episode is the fact that it didn't matter if you liked someone's storyline or a certain chracter or not...because the Heroes and villains and whatevers were all together. No more storyline whiplash. They were all together. Awesome. Milo's acting was back to it's S1 smoothness. I didn't have to cringe. But I think it was improving toward the end of Vol 3. Of course I loved the "kiss my ass" line. Peter showed much more resolve in his opposition to Nathan than he's done in the past. He was so remniscent of future Peter. I'm excited. The emo hair is back but not the emo boy.

Heroes is back!

It was a great start to hopefully a great volume. I love the references to season 1 the taxi cap ride and the ending with showing Mohinder and Peter's hand and in the pilot with the Nathan and Peter's hands.

It's a simple storyline let's capture them have a plan crash and now there on the run which I think is great because it didn't need such a set up or three episodes to figure out what the volume will be about. They kept out the mystery you know who is after them which leads you yelling at the TV why are you do this these people who are like you and they had your back a few months ago?

Loved that they had Peter stand up to Nathan the "kiss my ass" line made me smile, and Peter will no longer hug a family member but whatever.

I loved Peter's resolve to fight Nathan, and yet Peter still needs to feel his brother's love. It makes him a much more complex character and Milo was so believable. I think it must be difficult for Milo to play without any context to his character, much as it was in the third volume. He seemed more able to understand this motivation and purpose and it showed in his acting.

I loved the episode myself. I loved seeing Peter in a paramedic, his sadness out of not being able to save some one, his talk about people with abilitys to the other paramedic. Yes how could I not love his kiss my ass line to Nathan, I was so proud of him. And alas this will prob not ever have Peter want to hug agian yah so sad but some times I guess you just need to be tought a lesson LOL. I just loved the Peter/Mohinder scene ^^

Finally, I think they've actually got it on track, and not just the overall show but the characters themselves feel back on track. I was really impressed with the episode and it seems headed in a really good direction now. It was much more character driven, and characters were given the time to talk about what they were thinking/feeling. They came off as real people again.

I love that Peter can only absorb one power at a time now and only when in contact with or near another hero.

I agree. That scene, showing his frustration in not being able to save someone and feeling helpless, was great to see played out. It brings back his question- can he be a hero without powers. I love that inner struggle Milo is getting to play.

I also love that HRG has some mystery about him again.

My only rant... how in the world did Parkman get a completely new power? That made no sense to me, but I guess its better than TPTB trying to force us to believe Isaac still has paintings of the future in 9th Wonders like they did in the previous volume.

I completely agree. Nothing felt rushed, and scenes were paced out nicely, allowing the characters to actually breathe.

I loved that too, the way it mirrored those events.

The ratings are in. I was worried since its now competing with 24 again, but the episode actually drew a little more than half a million more viewers than the ratings from the last episode:

I've also seen more positive reviews of the episode too. Not stellar, but more positive and it even beat 24 in the desired demographic of 18-49.

I liked how Milo played Peter as not so outwardly emotional, but reserved, and more in control.

I agree with you, Kelly. I don't even think they need a pre-cog anymore, especially one who draws the future. Greg looked silly with the white eyes.

I've noticed a lot of positive feedback two every where which is nice. But yes Milo acted very well in the last episode, I really loved his scenes the most. I can't wait for next weeks. More team work, I hope mainly between Mo and Peter that'd be nice. Yah I agree with you guy's Matt getting that power made no sense if they wanted some one to see the future, what they should have done is have either Peter or Syler some how keep that power. Oh well I'll let that slide I guess LOL.

I rewatched the episode about three times now. I haven't done that in a long while.

It's not my imagination. I really like Heroes again. I should say I really like Peter again.
