Episode 3.04: 'I Am Become Death'

Episode description: TASKED TO SAVE A WORLD DESTINED FOR DESTRUCTION, PETER MUST EMBRACE A WILD, DANGEROUS ABILITY TO BETTER PREPARE FOR THE STRUGGLE AHEAD -- GUEST STARS MALCOLM MCDOWELL (LINDERMAN), DAVID ANDERS (ADAM MONROE) AND ADAIR TISHLER (MOLLY) RETURN -- Seeing a future where nearly everyone has abilities, a world destined for destruction, Peter resolves to prevent this earth-shattering end -- whatever the cost -- and so takes on a dark, unwieldy ability to save the world -- gambling (wrong) that it won’t destroy him and everything he loves first. After allowing Angela’s (Cristine Rose) half of “the formula” to be stolen, Hiro (Masi Oka) and Ando (James Kyson Lee) set out to uncover the identity of the Villain who hired Daphne (guest star Brea Grant) -- and must consult with the person who knows these rogues best…Adam Monroe (guest star David Anders). After the bloodbath at the bank, H.R.G. (Jack Coleman) resolves to get rid of his new partner. Meanwhile, determined to be a hero, Claire (Hayden Panettiere) hits the road after one of the Villains from H.R.G.’s old files. Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) gives in to impulse. Linderman (guest star Malcolm McDowell) and Molly (guest star Adair Tishler) return in unexpected manners. A new romance ignites between two Heroes. Ali Larter, Adrian Pasdar, Greg Grunberg, Zachary Quinto and Dania Ramirez star. Randall Bentley, Ashley Crow, Jessalyn Gilsig, Ronald Guttman, Jamie Hector, Jimmy Jean-Louis, Ntare Mwine and Thomas Robinson guest star.

that stinks that it doesnt air the same night is the us,
i thought in the uk it air the next week from the us

I really don't get why ratings are going down, I mean the eps are getting better.

I thought last night's was really good, I love that to me there giving him material to show what a great actor he is...the future Peter and present Peter scene at the news stand was great you can tell when they had them side by side he changed his voice, facial expressions, walk and everything. Not many actors would put that much effort into a performance.

I don't think we have to worry, as Heroes is NBC's most popular drama. Granted, they don't have that many to compare it with, but as long as it brings in the desired demo it won't be cancelled. Last season it was the most dvr'd show on all of television. I'm sure it is doing similar this season too. Only a very few shows on all the networks are doing as well or better than last year.

My thoughts on the episode...

Twice the Milo. I thought he did a nice job portraying differences between the two Peters so each stood out differently. I also liked the line future Peter had calling present Peter "naive" (not stupid) because there is a big difference between present Peter being naive and stupid (as some fans refer to him as being).

Future Claire (wearing way too much eyeliner) shoots future Peter. I don't really get the issues she has for wanting him dead so badly. She mentioned that he won't stop until they kill him. Stop what?

Ando is like the best friend anyone could have, with everything he puts up with.

"Special Guest star David Anders"... I guess that just spoiled the big surprise. They couldn't have added that to the end instead?

Sylar has been Martha Stewartized... with a child... and Mr. Muggles in the old Bennett house? That son of his looks to be around 4 so he would have had him around now then. He named his son Noah, and, aw, he calls Peter Uncle. Who do you think the mother of their child is?

Daphne and Parkman are a couple with a baby? 4 years later and the show has turned into thirtysomething.

Parkman- "Peter Petrelli is a murderer and a terrorist..."
Daphne- "And he's the villain, not me."

So, can present Peter (and the viewers) really trust what future Peter has said to him?

Parkman (to Daphne)- "It's time for you to slow down." Cute.

Sylar going boom was pretty cool. Costa Verde... that's where the movie Poltergeist was set.

I like Ali and Adrian together, but I do miss Rena Sofer (as his ex wife) on the show.

Loved Ali's Jackio O glasses as the first lady.

Did Peter kill future Nathan? I thought he stopped before he did.

I didn't expect Daphne's "I wasn't fast enough" scene. That was sad.

So, Parkman was dreaming everything that was happening while Peter was in the future?

I loved the Angela/Hiro/Ando scene.

Adam- "Hiro, you son of a..."

I really enjoyed this episode. I can understand that anyone who missed an episode or were joining in after not having watched the series in a while would be completely confused with all the back and forth from present to future though. It's still a fun ride, but I still hope they slow things a bit to let the characters react to how they're feeling and what they're thinking more to show more characterization. That human touch was part of what made season one so great.

I don't like the stupid label either. If anyone should be blamed for Peter's continued naivete, it should be the writers. However, if you look at Peter's history, he is acting in character and IMO justifiably so. (I am talking about present Peter.)

Not knowing why Peter does what he does or if Matt and Daphne are on the good side makes me question what they say. I think this season we really don't know, at this point, who is on the side of good and who is on the side of evil.

I think he did. Nathan was lying in a pool of blood with his eyes open. Looked dead to me.

That's disappointing. I'd rather the writers have them work together than apart on these things.

I think Nathan and Peter will reconnect. It seems whatever the future was when fPeter went back to the present, it seemed to have changed. I think when pPeter goes back to the present he and Nathan will find their way back to each other.

I just watched the episode again, and I have to say, I really am not feeling Future!Claire

And I didn't get her need to kill/torture both Peters. Why couldn't she just give a real reason as to why she was doing it? Or try to talk to Present!Peter? And why so much makeup?

I'm kind of tired of Nathan hooking up with basically all of Ali's characters. Although the saving her and flying her away was cute. And I want to know where Heidi and the kids are. At least a mention of them would be nice.

Matt and Daphne in the future?

I guess it kind of works, but it kind of seemed to me like they wanted to include Matt in the future and just stuck him where it was possible.

Hiro and Ando trying to escape was funny

Is it possible for Peter to get the Haitian's power at all? And if he could, how does that work when they are together?

I want to know if Future!Peter really was as bad as they were saying, or were they just on Future!Claire's side and going along with her. And if he really is a murderer and a terrorist, could he have been protecting himself or maybe trying to fix something in the past when he did these bad things? Maybe he was completely evil but I would have liked more evidence supporting that claim, than just Claire, and her buddies, saying that he was.

Peter killing Nathan was a shock, but it didn't bother me too much because Peter from that timeline was dead as well. They don't seem to do well being apart so I wasn't as sad about that. I do wish they'd stop picking on Nathan. I'm protective of him

I did like the episode but I had even more questions after it ended

TPTB are not going to reveal too much this soon in the season. We'll just have to be patient as to why Peter is hunted and why by Claire. I think the make-up is to try to make Hayden look older, nothing more.

As I said before, I don't know who to think is on the side of good or evil . For all we know it is fPeter who is on the side of good and Claire and her companions, including Matt, to be on the side of evil.
