What's eating Gilbert Grape

I don't want to say the movie changed my life but in a way it did. His quiet, tortured performance was perfect and Leo DiCaprio's character brought out so much in him.

I loved his face when he found out he had left his brother inside the tub. What a wonderful scene!

Well I don't know...it might have to be Sleepy Hollow. Seriously, I'm in love with that movie, and I actually didn't notice he was in that movie because that has got to be my favorite story of all times aswell, and Johnny's a plus! I think it was great acting, I love Tim Burton and Johnny!

I pretty much loved all his movies, but I have a slight preference for his Burton movies, such as Sleepy Hollow and Edward Scissorhands. Another favourite of mine is Arizona Dream, although it's a weird movie full of symbolism.

Kaylee-I always feel weird for liking 'Blow', since it's a movie about drugs. But I do.

My favorite Johnny flicks are probably:

Benny and Joon: his impressions in that high pitched voice are hysterical
Pirates of the Carribean
Blow

For me, it's close between Pirates of the Caribbean and Sleepy Hollow. As much as I POTC, I have a soft spot for Sleepy Hollow. Can't choose...

So many choices! I love Benny & Joon, I think that would be my favorite...but I also love Sleepy Hollow, because it has the perfect combinations: My favorite actor, director, one of my favorite actresses (Christina Ricci) and overall the Sleepy Hollow story is a favorite of mine. I also love Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, and What's Eating Gilbert Grape.

My favorite Johnny characters, that would be different. Jack Sparrow, of course, and I love Agent Sands too.

SO HARD!

I actually don't care for Once Upon a Time in Mexico, though I like Desperado a lot. OUTIM was too convoluted, and as much as I like Johnny, IMO, the movie was way too centered around him. It was a show piece for him, IMO. It's one of my least favorites, as well as The Ninth Gate. Didn't like that one at all.

Another JD movie I like that probably isn't so popular is From Hell. That man sure can wear period clothing.

TheCheshireKitten- I have to kinda agree with you there. The movie was a bit confusing, wasn't it? I think Agent Sands was GREAT ("Can you hear me know? *****in' bells! :lol and a couple scenes were cool, but the storyline was kinda mumbled. Still, when I saw it for the second time at home, I started to enjoy it a bit more...

If we're talking favourite movie that he's been in (rather than which one I liked him the most in) I'd have to say Sleepy Hollow. So hard to choose one, but the style, the tone, the director, the acting... Amazing. Chocolat is a runner-up. Gorgeous movie, man.

But honourable mentions for his roles in Benny & Joon (his expression when they tell Benny is priceless), Gilbert Grape (amazingly subtle performance), Edward Scissorhands (no explanation required), and, obviously, PoTC.
