Tonight I came home and turned on the TV and what did I see? Johnny adorable as always in the ninth gate.
I also was thinking that was the time when he met Vanessa in France...

I saw the last thirty seconds of it on TV a few days ago. I was so mad I didn't turn it to that channel earlier.

I loved this movie, the mystique and mysterious characters, the 3 books and the secrets they held.

Then the expressions on his face when he discovers the discrepancies with the books.

Then the ending, so powerful and entertaining.

Frank Langella and Lena Olin were fantastic co-stars!

I've always been intrigued by the occult, the fascination with it and what not, and this movie is great for touching the realism that some people have when it comes to their beliefs.

Such an insanely powerful movie, but I think you really have to have an open mind when watching.

I watched this movie a lot of times with different people and some of them didn't catch that the girl was the devil

some quotes

"Working with Polanski was a very intriguing experience. He's really out there. It wasn't an easy movie to make, especially because Polanski is very strict in his directing. But he is a fantastic man, very fascinating. He is very intelligent, very funny and he knows a lot about culture. But he also is very stubborn. He's a bit rigid, you know. After working with Polanski, working with Burton felt like an exorcism. I was tortured. Don't get me wrong, I found it very pleasant to work with Polanski, but he and Tim are just two different directors."
--Johnny Depp
Teek, Jan. 2000

"It was not an easy film to make. Roman is pretty set in his ways. There's not much opportunity for discussion or collaboration... He was definitely a bit too rigid for my liking... I'd heard Roman could be extremely rigid and he was, but he never actually tried to give me line readings. If he had, I'd probably still be in jail."
--Johnny Depp
Calgary Sun

those remain me the Mann thing, maybe it's true.

but you know ,don't get a long with Polanski could be dangerous

That's like the main point of the movie!

The devil chose him to invoke her not the other dude, so she was leading him to the answers.

And in the end the devil had him.

At least that's my understanding.

I watched this movie again last night, I love it so much!

Well too the hints of it are there when he asks her her name and she's like guess and he starts off with Green Eyes, and then she's like "that'll do"...

...which made me think of the movie Babe, ironically....and the line "That'll do pig...that'll do"...

So she had no name, no where to go, and just showed up to save him when needed.

And he's wondering who killed the man in the water fountain, I think we are to think it's the ones who were after the book, but it was her, because he had gotten what he needed from the book and destroyed it before Lena Olin's character could get to it.
