Depp Performs at Glastonbury

Johnny Depp booked a flight from New York City to Britain Thursday night, surprising visitors to the Glastonbury Festival on Friday by performing in a small café. The festival is well-known for its unique performers but surely Depp took them by surprise. An MTV journalist was one of the few in the café that caught the performance, saying, “Johnny Depp is playing in a tiny café… about 30 people here. Crazy!”

Depp has a long-standing history with music. When he was a teenager, he dropped out of school to pursue a rock and roll path for himself. He fronted several garage bands, most notably The Kids, who opened for Iggy Pop. From the success of last year’s Sweeney Todd, we know Depp can sing as well. And to top it off, he’s had a long partnership with French singer Vanessa Paradis, ensuring that music is never too far from his mind.

I had known about Johnny's passion for music, but had never seen him play live until recently, thanks to youtube, and it was such an awesome thing. It just added this whole other side to him, that made him seem so much sexier to me and I didn't think that was possible. I would love to be able to see him play live someday, though I doubt that will ever happen, but I'll happily settle for youtube.

And I wanna thank everybody for the awesome clips and photos they've posted in this thread of the man in action on stage!

I've discovered recently, after listening to some of Vanessa Paradis music, that Johnny co-wrote a few of her songs, that I thought was awesome.

I would of course love for him to do his own like acoustic album though!
