That is a great selection. And I have to laugh because I've been playing 9 to 5 for the past few weeks. There's a great video on YouTube that has the song with clips from Supernatural.

Plus you have Billy Joel, who is my favorite singer of all time. So great soundtrack!

Not to sound too young, but artists like Billy Joel were just a few years before me. I was more of a Cyndi Lauper, Janet Jackson girl.

How old are you again Melika? If you don't mind answering. If you do, no worries. I'm a total 80's child, but my dad was a drummer in a band and therefore I grew up on classic rock. My favorite band is the Who. Followed closely by the Foo Fighters.

Who are your top bands Harley?

I thought you and I were around the same age. I guess Billy Joel is more of an older style. And a to AC/DC because they are that awesome.

I'm an 80's baby myself Kelli, and how cool that your dad was in a band! And, how funny that you've been playing 9 to 5 lately, that song always gets me going.

Being an 80's baby, I dug Bon Jovi, back in the day. Plus, I live in NJ, so it was practically a must, though I don't much care for their new stuff. I also loved INXS, Michael Hutchence was the ult! And, while I wasn't a full fledged Duranie, I did like Duran Duran. And, Def Leppard were a great live band.

But some my classic favorites would be The Eagles, Van Halen, Fleetwood Mac, Heart and Journey.

Finding new music I like is a rarity, I tend to stick the the good old stuff, but I do like Matchbox 20, Nickelback and Daughtry.

Wow Harley, that is amazing how much we have in common musically. A double cause I love them all!

I love all the bands and I had to laugh at the Bon Jovi comment. I have a cousin from New Jersey and she feels the same way.

I do have to say I love a lot of the new stuff too though. There is nothing like the classics though.

So, I guess the real questions is where do you come down in the ultimate battle: The Rolling Stones or The Beatles?

The Beatles!

I like a lot of music that is far out of m generation, like Frank Sinatra, Billy Holiday, Etta James, and big band swing style music as well.

I also like Opera and classical.

I had an idea for this hot seat thread to share with you guys:

What do you think of making this the 'Hot Potato Seat' thread and instead of one person in the seat, a poster asks questions, the next posters answers, then posts another round of three questions for the next poster.

So really, everyone is in the hot seat. I suggest the name "Hot Potato Seat", because it would be like the game 'hot potato, pass it on..."

Thoughts?

Girl, that is an AWESOME idea! I love it! You have my vote! I'll come and play.

I had to laugh you are about the fourth person in a week to pick the Beatles over the Stones. So I'm just going to have a shout out and say, GO KEITH!

And since high fives seem to be my thing at the moment another to you because I love those guys as well. When I saw Rudy Guiliani (sp?) (the may of New York during Sept.11th in case you didn't know) speak they played "New York, New York" and I had to whip out my Frank Sinatra after that cause I had a musical craving.

I really love listening to that music on Saturday nights if I'm going out.

Cool, on the new thread idea. We're nearing the end of this thread, so when it comes time for the new one, I would appreciate everyone letting me open it so I can post the new idea/rules in the OP!

I'm definitely gonna have to pick The Stones over the The Beatles. The new idea sounds pretty cool. I mean, I like it the way it is now too, but the new way is cool in a different way.

Well I just find it's difficult to find volunteers for the Hot Seat, but if it is just a continuous hot seat, then each poster can answer when they're online etc.
