I was around 7 too when I first saw it. I felt so bad for his character. And I thought Winona was really pretty. I think I saw it again when I was 12 and that was when I really started to appreciate the film and what it was about.

+ - ReD - +: Heh, I'm glad you liked my non-creative lame-ass name. BTW, a little OT of Johnny, but I was looking at your sig, and I thought how great would it be to start a Labyrinth thread over at the Sci-Fi/Fantasy board... I'm on a thread-posting roll of late, and I the movie. I dunno...just a thought.

I must've been around 7 when I first saw the movie -- I even remember seeing the trailers on TV, oddly enough.

Funny thing is, I saw so many movies when I was little that I never really understood, but I watched them anyway -- all the time. It's so hilarious when I re-watch my old childhood favorites, because so many things are different from what I thought they were; suddenly, they aren't saying the lines I thought they were saying, and all these scenes I never saw before are popping up everywhere. Very of the strange...

Lemme see if I can get these right, I should, being a Burton obsessor...

1. Ed Wood
2. Edward Scissorhands
3. Sleepy Hollow

And upcoming, Charlie & The Chocolate Factory...?

God, I'm good.

Right, so what is everyone's favourite scene in ES? One of my faves has to be at the garden barbeque with the neighbours and Ed's doing the kebabs with Bill and he puts his hands in the air:

Bill: Soup's up!
Ed (muffled): I thought this was shish kebab?
Bill: What?
Ed (less muffled): I thought this was shish kebab?
Bill: It is shish kebab. It's a figure of speech, you gotta learn to take things less seriously, Ed.

It's the confusion on Johnny's face that gets me in such hysterics! Same with the drive home with Pegg and he tried to put his head out the window and hits it off the door frame!

That's so true. That happens to me a lot too. Like when I was young, The Last Unicorn was just another cartoon to me and when I was a little older that was when I realized how brilliant it was. And E.T. just used to be about some alien wanting to phone home and when I saw it again, I was like wow...this is good. I could say that about a bunch of kick-ass films that were released during the 80's. Films that I never really knew were kick-ass because I was too young and too stupid to know any better.

I really suck at things like this, but the "Scissorhands" seemed even more lame than the other stuff I came up with. </STRONG>
don't be silly! they are great ideas! ur really creative i've noticed! I like Trimmers, I can't think of anything, being a Roswell fan i should have tons of ideas for shipper names, but thats the only area that my creativeness doesn't cover!

Yeah, it's towards the end, when everyone's out looking for Edward.

I love this line:
"And then she showed me the back room where she
took all of her clothes off." -Edward

Just the way he says it and the response it gets make me laugh.

Yeah...it's true -- his expression coupled with his tone of voice was very of the funny.

Edward = Adorable ( )

Johnny did a great job as Edward. He was really good at bringing out emotions from the audience. You would sympathize with him, then laugh, then sort get freaked out, and then feel really sad for him. And he does it all with just the slightest facial expressions. Johnny really has a great way of making characters come to life.

It's amazing how much emotion and depth he can convey with the slightest tone of voice change or facial expression. It's what makes him a great actor. Not just anyone could have been Edward Scissorhands. He pulled it off just perfectly.

I love this movie. I watched it way to late too--I only first saw it about a year ago.

Anyway, Johnny does a great job. He really does a lot with his facial expressions and he really sells it.

Oh that is so true. You can definitely see that in all the characters he plays. He has a way of making each and every character unique but yet still all his own. Like with Edward and all his other characters, no one else can play them like he does. But he still manages to make them all distinct from one another. Now that's talent.

I like the name The Clippers, I think it's hell funny.
Or the name could have something to do with ice sculpting, or just ice, or snow, because of the end.
