He said both. He said they haven't even called him. But before that he said "they're not bringing me back". A fan asked why and he said "because they want to save money".

He said that he didn't even get a call saying they wanted him back. It's hard to hear, but I've listened again and again, and that's def what he says. So I don't see why he would say that if the problem was them not wanting to pay him what he asked for.

I'm so confused, I just want official word instead of all this he says she says stuff!!

If it is about money, I assume that means the CW chose all those meaningless guest stars over Chad.

I don't know what to think. Maybe this is all a coverup, something the network and Chad came up with.. Maybe Chad did want to leave, but didn't want all the fans hating on him for it, so he's blaming the CW? I think there is alot of stuff going on that we know nothing about.

I just don't see Chad lieing to his fans.

I just read that Mark told fans that they are working on Chad's contract this week..

you know, I don't even care much. Maybe he's just trying to defend himself from people hate, which raised up huge after Hilarie made her crying video where she basically said she was fired because Chad/Lucas was leaving and the writers/network wanted to give LP a good ending.

I think it would have been better for everyone not to say anything, except maybe an official press release stating that Chad and Hilarie weren't coming back. Hilarie with her video, where she hinted because hinting is easier that taking responsability for what you say, opened the way for people to start gossiping about Chad's fault in what was happening to her, which I guess might have forced Chad to say something himself to defend himself and not taking the fault, whatever the reason why he's not coming back is. If Hilarie had stayed quite, probably he would have stayed quite too. Just my personal opinion. Anyway, you know what? I'm seeing bashing on Chad all over the place even after this video. No matter what he says, no matter what he does, people give him all the fault and praise the others even when they are just trying to get people's sympathy.

whatever happened, I can't even start explaining how happy I am Chad and myself with him are gonna get rid of this show and all the ugly drama and gossip this show brings with it. Thank God it's gonna be over soon.

Everything's just too confusing, with one person saying this and another person saying something else. I think OTH fans deserve the truth, and somebody should come forward and make a statement instead of all this gossip, cause to be honest, the OTH fandom is all about gossip, and this is just like pouring gasoline on an already going fire

Like I said in the news thread. This upsets me ( if it's true ), after reading alot of different opinions, I think there may be more to this story..
BUT whether Chad was ''fired'' or he made the decision not to come back, I'm glad he's getting away from OTH.. He deserves much better than what this show gives him, which is nothing. If it was about money issues and Chad wanted to stay, well then I say they made a huge mistake, and should have gotten rid of all the useless characters... If this is the case, then I'm glad he's getting away, cause it shows how much more he deserves!

I've been hearing different things too.

Just OT sort of - he looks scrumptious in that video. And the girl whose arm he has around while talking about this is one very lucky girl. Because he had his arm around her for a long time. When she asked him why, he looked her straight in the eye and all his attention on her, softly answered her question.

Anyways, I agree there must be a lot of stuff going on that we don't know about.

I saw alot of emotion in Chad and his words. I don't know if it was sadness, dissapointment or if he was slightly pissed off. It's hard to tell from a video, but there was def. feelings there..

I'm sure it must be hard for Chad to leave, whatever the reason is, whoever the choice was. But he'll be so better off without this show and all the crap that surrounds it. (edited by mod)

aren't you girls tired of that? I know I am. Chad will be so better off. If we're lucky, in a few months OTH will be just a memory and Chad, and us, will have moved on to better things. And it will be such an amazing thing not to have to lurk in certain places just to keep track on what he does on OTH.

Even if he was asked not to leave and now he feels sad about that, soon he will realize leaving this show is the best thing that could happen to him. This show, the network, the fandom don't deserve him. He's been way too classy and gentleman over the last few years, in spite of a lot of **** he's received. He deserves better than this.

Nothing good can come from those comments, so let's just ignore them and not bring them into the thread, it's just not worth it. People will talk, it just can't be avoided.

Manu I agree. I feel like no matter what Chad does, he always gets blamed for the most insane things. I guess it's just easier to blame the same person over and over without knowing all the facts. I don't see how people can even be mad at him when it comes to this, as there are so many conflicting stories, nobody knows what's true..

I can't wait for him to move to LA. I'm ready for him to move on to more challenging projects. It's the end of the road for him, it's been 6 years and it's time for him to move on, no matter the curcumstances of all this

what pisses me off the most is that Hil gave the fault to mark/cw and everyone ate up what she said and called her classy for talking to the fans about it. Now Chad says he wasn't asked to come back and of course he's a liar and unprofessional. It's the double standard that I can't stand.

but really, it's almost over. a couple of weeks and then bye bye OTH!

Sorry Marie. I know what you're saying but why do Chad fans have to suck it up all the time? If we can't rant about it here in our own rant thread, where can we rant about it?

Nowhere. That's the answer. And I know it doesn't really depend on our mods, who are awesome. But we just got the same kind of warning on the OTH board.

Chad fans just can't defend Chad, it's against the rules. For some reason, the Chad bashing is always allowed everywhere, but defending him in response is not.

And if this post gets me in trouble and banned, be it. I know I'm not the only one who thinks like this and maybe it's time to start speaking.

Our mods are awesome, I agree. But surely on Chad's own board we should be allowed to speak freely about how it upsets us that people are allowed to get away with what they do. I understand on sites like yt that aren't moderated you just have to put up with stuff or jump right in. But on here, where there are certain rules and those rules are being broken in a way that upsets another part of a fanbase, those who break the rules should be told to stop, otherwise there will always be people wanting to defend their favorite ship/actor or w/e. I'm probably breaking a rule right now and I'm sorry for that. I don't mean to.

But it's because people are allowed to disrespect Chad here or elsewhere that they continue to do it. Honestly I'm the last person who would want a confrontation with anyone but where's the fairness if it's ok to bash someone but not ok to be able to defend that someone?

I am so confused by all of this. So what if Chad wanted more money? He was with OTH for 6 years. Give him the money!

Now if Chad really was fired, I am disappointed that Mark wants to take that route. I know Lucas/Peyton are really hated but they do have fans. Not just people who ship the couple but there are some who love the individual characters.

If OTH must go on for another season, I just can't picture it without him or Peyton/Hilarie and I won't be tuning in to watch Haley/Joy get neglected like she has been.....

I think the network and Mark are past the respect towards the fans. They just don't care, in my opinion.

you know I agree with you and we're not the only ones. I actually just PMed someone about this situation, because it's getting really frustrating to see the bashing on Chad all over the place and not being able to talk in his defence.
