Hm, that's interesting... How does it mess up your art? Like, does it screw up the coloring? Maybe someone over at the FanArt Board can help with PSP, I use Photoshop, so I can't, unfortunately. All I can tell you is, that maybe you just have to use the highest settings?

About your problem with the thumbnail, open a new canvas the size of the thumbnails and post your JPEG file in it (then resize so it fits). Then upload both pictures

You are probably not on the highest quality optimization. After you create the image, and you click save as, under where it says save/cancel/help, there is an "options" button. Click that and then where it says "compression factor", put that to 1. That should make your image clearer when you save from the original.

When I do that, this comes up;

Noninterlaced ( set to this one )

There is no compression factor.

Oh, it seems that the program is trying to default the image to GIF. Version 89a is common for gif images and used a lot for transparent files. It is no good for jpeg and that is why your image color is being reduced.

Just read that you have PSPX2, so what you can do is go to File> Export> Jpeg Optimizer and lower the compression value there. The lower the value, the better the quality.
