I get what you both are saying, about Lucas and Peyton's realistic relationship. It actually is, probably, the most realistic thing written into the show during the later years. But I still think that Lucas was shafted. I get that he had a writer's block, which is understandable. But then he just didn't... do anything else. Normally, after someone gets over their writer's block, they start fresh or get inspired to do something else, and Lucas didn't get to do much of anything __________________

But she wasn't wearing a wig in that scene...
What would you have him do, Amelia? I guess he coached the Ravens, then wrote the Comet, then thought he was going to be a screenwriter...but then after that...nothing! He didn't even go back to coaching which didn't make much sense to me. __________________

Aren't you talking about this episode?
Hmm... well, I've forgotten why exactly the movie fell apart, and I guess I'll figure out soon enough since I'm capping s6 right now But why did Lucas just write a new book or a short or some story about Peyton? Or a script about their love, not just like their far away, 'she was the comet' love, but them as an actual, real life couple? I don't even remember why he stopped with the screenwriting but he should of given it another shot, or at least something creatively stimulating. It's like, he flopped and then hung around with James Van Der Beek for a few episodes and then got married and left. Lucas, as a solo character, never got closure, imo. It always seemed like he only ~sparkled~ as a person when he was in a relationship and the rest of the time he was like, pining away for someone, while trying to figure himself out as a person. Yet in s6, he finally gets Peyton and then, bye bye! Nothing left to do! __________________

the link isn't going anywhere?
If I remember correctly, Paul (Julian's dad) didn't believe the project could work anymore and pulled the project all together __________________

Yeah, the link isn't working, Amelia . I'm talking about this one:
But you're right. After The Comet it seems like he kind of gave up on that. Season 6 was just sloppy writing just to wrap up their stories. His movie was pulled, like Pat said, so he did get to finish it and even struggled with writing Keith's death. He was part of the casting as well as the table reading (probably one of my favorite montage in season 6 tbh ) OOH, I am so glad you brought that up, Amelia! I think the one complaint I have for Lucas' character in general is that they always had to have him romantically involved with someone at all times. If it wasn't Peyton it was Brooke, Nikki, Anna, Rachel (she pursued him, though), or Lindsey. I really don't like that they always had to write him pining after someone like that's the only way he'd be interesting! As a Peyton fan, I at least caught a break in season 2 before Jake came back and then again in the beginning of season 3. As the series was ending (and by series I mean season 6 in my mind ) I started to catch onto the fact that they always had Lucas chasing after someone. I really wish they would have given him a real break from jumping from girl to girl __________________

Oh sorry! I meant this:
From episode 6x21. Which obviously isn't what y'all were talking about But wasn't there some type of significant scene in the episode? Like a throwback to s1? Or am I totally off? Yes, absolutely Cristal!! This is why this show is so torturous to rewatch Why did Lucas always have to go after a girl? Why couldn't he just be single without constantly trying to get a girl? Everything he did after a certain point was just to get or about a girl -- his book, the main thing he accomplished as an adult, was about Peyton. He consistently was pained over girls. It was just annoying. I'm glad he was finally happy in the end of it all, but his character never fully developed imho, which was hard to watch __________________

she looks like a different girl tbh. I loved the flashback stuff, but her wig was just wrong

That was the ugliest wig they could have given her. Like, really? It looks nothing like what her hair looked like at the end of season 4 SO SLOPPY! There probably was a throw back to s1 in 6.21, but I can't remember. I'm like you now that I can't remember much from season 6
Even though I'm a leyton fan and obviously I liked the whole "Comet" thing, it would have been nice to see Lucas write something that wasn't based off of his love for Peyton How cute would it have been if he wrote a book about his mom? Yeah, it's another girl but Very different kind of love and Karen's story is the kind that should be told imo. I would've loved to hear what Lucas was up to when he showed up in season 9. Writing? Coaching? Mechanic? Dude, Lucas should have been a mechanic __________________

if they wanted a more realistic one they should've just used the one she actually wore in Season 3 before her hair grew back out

You're totally right Cristal, I would of loved to hear Lucas to write about his mother. It would of been very interesting to read about. He should of done a series about all the girls in his life I think Lucas should of ended up a mechanic, as well But seriously, how much does it suck that we don't even know what Lucas ended up doing with his life?!?! __________________

The make up department got so lazy after a while Even the wig they put on Joy for season 5 was a bit off
Oh Lucas and his obsession with women! It does suck! I mean, sure, okay...I guess I've come to accept that bitter taste of them acting like Peyton doesn't exist but Lucas came back! How hard is it to give us a little information about his life and what he's doing? I'm sure giving a little peek into Lucas' current life wouldn't have ruined Mark's S9 storylines __________________
