Pat, do you know when they wrapped up filming for OTH? I really do wonder how hard they tried to get CH to come back? I mean, did they just ask Hilarie for the time that Chad was available and didn't attempt asking again? Because you make a good point! Yes, Hilarie wasn't available when Chad was for his episode, but maybe they could have had her come back for 9.11 or 9.12 to bring the kids back and be there for Brooke!

I really hate to speculate the casting efforts for this show, because it saddens me sometimes. But I think it kind of attributes to James being part time and only appearing in half the episodes...the season only having 13 episodes as a whole and then with Hilarie being on White Collar full time and Chad involved in projects, it's not our little show anymore...these actors are having big careers now and cannot be at a beckon call whenever the story line asks for them

True! But it could have been a nice alternative by having Peyton bring Jamie and Lydia back. It would still fit into the storyline, Lucas not wanting to see Dan but Peyton feeling like Sawyer should get to see him or something. Dan would have had all his grandchildren with him on his final day

if Peyton came to say goodbye and spoke about Lucas not coming would've spoke volumes! I feel that she would have since she let Dan hold Sawyer knowing how much Dan has done to their family

At least she'd be able to talk to Dan and I think it would have meant something to him that it's coming from Peyton. It would have broke his heart but to know that Lucas at least let his little girl go see him would have meant so much to Dan. Dan must've expected that Lucas wouldn't show, but for Sawyer to have been there...

The scene with Haley/Dan and the kids struck a cord. Now if Peyton and Sawyer were there too...

Peyton and Sawyer coming would've said a lot. And it would've given a chance for Haley and Peyton to accept Dan as their father in law. It doesn't seem like Peyton ever did

We rarely saw Dan and Peyton interact, now that you mention it. She didn't interact much with Keith either, at least from what we were shown. I was surprised she let Dan hold Sawyer though. I think she would have taken Sawyer to see him if Lucas permitted

with all the ways that Dan made Lucas feel like an outsider and then the scene in the gym where Dan was trying to strangle Lucas with Peyton there, I can't really imagine Peyton ever bringing up the idea of Dan getting to know Sawyer.

Oh of course, not to get to know her or anything. Just, idk...for her to at let them see each other. Sawyer is going to have questions if she doesn't (didn't?) already, just let her see him for herself
