And I agree Anni, I think they were blinded by Adam's teen following and forgot that they should have been promoting what the film had to offer. Which makes me wonder what would have happened if they'd kept it at an R rating.

I remember initially it was supposed to be an R rating. But I think when Warner Bros took it from WIP, they wanted a younger audience.

The thing is that they should've just marketed it the way it was. It might've not done extremely well at the BO, either, considering its budget, but at least we would've known that it was marketed honestly. But I don't really expect that from the studios anymore.

This kinda reminded me of The Family Stone. I liked it, yet I was slightly deceived because it was marketed like a comedy. But in fact it felt more dramatic. And it slightly pissed me off. I would've only felt happier if the film exceed my expectations.

I agree, they should have just left it alone. I also read in an article that it was also changed due to it being badly received at test screenings, so they rearranged some things which apparently made it better.

It's all WB's fault. I seriously hate them but they love Adam. The WB is taking care of him. Giving him scripts/projects...etc....
