Adam in 'Thank You For Smoking'

Just checked on Adam's IMDB page and noticed that he's signed up for another new movie (Thank You For Smoking) which is based on a book. He will be playing the character of Jack Bein, but I have no idea if it's like a big part or not. Aaron Eckhart, Cameron Bright, Robert Duvall, Katie Holmes & Maria Bello are also in this movie.

Too bad it's not a big part. He doesn't seem to really have anything he was the lead in. I wonder why.

I need to find someone who's read the book, so I can know how big his role is. But Adam's got In The Land of Woman in March, which is probably why he doesn't have a bigger role...since he's the lead in that movie.

There are two of my fav people in this movie Katie Holmes and Adam Brody. I can't wait to see this. I am reading the book right now but I just started so I haven't yet gotten to Adam's character.

Oh! This seems like a great movie, and with Katie in it!

And it has Aaron Eckhart! He is great, I got to meet him when I was in London and went to see his and Julia Stiles play. It was great

You meet everyone, Mia!

It sounds like an awesome movie, and the fact Robert Duvall will be in the movie, is even better. Good cast, and an interesting plot.

I wish there was more news on Adam signing up for the movie though. Curiosity tends to get to me sometimes.

Exactly. One amazing cast with a great story. And I love the idea of seeing Katie and Adam together in a movie. I just love Katie. She's one awesome actress, IMO. Also, there are Cameron Bright, Robert, Maria Bello, J.K. Simmons, Sam Elliott... so, sounds like it'll be one interesting movie to watch.

And about Jack Bein... one of the stories in the book it's about how they try to get Hollywood involved in putting more cigarettes into movies and Jack is the assistant of Jeff Megall, who's the most powerful person in Hollywood.

So I'm assuming that his part isn't that big? Or it is? Adam working with Katie will be interesting to watch. I didn't really like her on DC because Joey bugged me (even though I was a big P/J fan) but I really liked her in Pieces of April, and Go.

But I love Maria Bello. She made Coyote Ugly interesting to watch, even though that movie is odd.

Here's a new article on his role (pretty short article). It should be in the news thread, but it's kinda more appropriate here.

Quote:
Macy, Brody, Elliott Lighting Up Satire

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - William H. Macy, Adam Brody and Sam Elliott have signed on for the indie feature "Thank You for Smoking."
Aaron Eckhart, Robert Duvall and Katie Holmes already are cast in the satire based on Christopher Buckley's best-selling novel about a PR man (Eckhart) for Big Tobacco.

Macy plays Eckhart's nemesis, a senator who crusades against the tobacco industry, while Brody will play an overcaffeinated assistant to a Hollywood agent. Elliott will play a Marlboro Man-type who is dying of cancer and wants to blow the whistle. Jason Reitman is directing.

Production begins this week in Los Angeles.

Macy recently was nominated for a Golden Globe in the miniseries/motion picture made for television category for TNT's "The Wool Cap." Brody stars in Fox's "The O.C." Elliott most recently appeared in "The Hulk."

Reuters/Hollywood Reporter
Overcaffeinated. Interesting.

I cannot wait for this movie. It sounds interesting and funny.

Maybe I should go look for the book.

Hmm, Maria Bello isn't doing the movie anymore since her name has been removed on the IMDB page for the movie. Also David Koechner has been added to the cast.

Oh and the movie has started filming/shooting already.
