| This article is fairly old, but it's about both of them: Bret Harrison Escapes Being 'Grounded' for 'The O.C.' (Wednesday, January 21 02:49 PM) By Kate O'Hare LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - There are advantages to having Adam Brody as a roommate besides being able to split the rent, as Bret Harrison finds out in tonight's episode of FOX's teen soaper "The O.C." The 'Grounded for Life' star plays Danny, a rival with Seth Cohen (Brody) for the affections of Summer (Rachel Bilson). "They get them out so damn quick," Harrison says. "I shot that three weeks ago!" Through Brody, Harrison met twenty something writer Josh Schwartz, the creator of "The O.C." "A couple of months ago," Harrison recalls, "Adam said, 'Josh was talking about writing an episode for you.' He knew I was an actor. I don't know if he'd seen anything from 'Grounded.' A week after that, he started pitching me the storyline. I said, 'Wow, that sounds so much fun.' Asked what the dynamic is among Danny, Seth and Summer, Harrison says, "Seth's jealous because Danny's this new guy, and everybody around Seth seems to think Danny's so hilarious. Seth's the only one who doesn't think so. And the only guy to see eye-to-eye with Seth is his dad, Peter Gallagher, which is a really funny scene. "It's a difference in humor. Seth is very witty, with a dry humor, and I come into town, and I'm this big, funny guy. I'm Jim Carrey-esque, and everybody thinks this guy is so hilarious. He's doing these obvious jokes. Then Seth will crack a joke, and nobody gets it. Silence falls." Now that both roommates are working full-time on shows, Harrison says, "We're rarely here. Sometimes we go a week without seeing each other, or, if we do, it's in passing, like 'Hey, what's up?', at the elevator." As to whether Danny could return, Harrison says, "He could, if 'Grounded for Life' let him. It was so difficult to do the one episode. Theoretically, it wasn't. I'm working on a sitcom, and the hours are very lax. But when somebody owns you, they want to own you." After beginning in a guest-starring role as lovestruck neighbor kid Brad O'Keefe on The WB's "Grounded for Life," Harrison has now become a fixture in the show, which stars Donal Logue as the thirtysomething patriarch of the Irish-Catholic Finnerty clan. "I walk through the door without knocking now," Harrison says. In a bit of TV irony, "Grounded for Life" began on FOX, the home of "The O.C.," but then hopped to The WB. Harrison thinks the move has been beneficial for him. "The WB has been so awesome," he says, "because I've been in every single episode this year, and I truly think it's because the network said, 'Listen, put him in every episode.' That's what I've heard through the grapevine." Harrison did find time over his hiatus to star in an independent film called "Lightning Bug," written and directed by special-effects artist Robert Hall. The coming-of-age film about an Alabama teen who dreams of escaping his trailer-park existence to work in the movies also stars Laura Prepon of "That '70s Show" and "Queer as Folk's" Hal Sparks. The film is currently making the rounds of festivals in hopes of finding a distributor. Speaking recently in front of TV critics in Hollywood, Prepon, who is also an executive producer on the film, said, "We're finishing it up, and we're just going to try to get it out there, because I think it's a cool little movie. I basically am proud of just the accomplishment of producing my first thing." "Lightning Bug" also features Prepon's first big-screen love scene -- on a church pew with Harrison, who says it wasn't exactly a romantic experience. "We were shooting on a church pew," he recalls, "and they built this thing that made it a little easier. But there's no air-conditioning or anything in this church. It's 100 degrees, and you get in the closed-in church and add humidity and naked bodies. We were falling off every five seconds." | |||

| I didn't realize Bret was at the Halloween thing. He really is in the background of all A/R pics. It's so weird, and a little creepy. ![]() | |||

Or like their pet, like a dog. Of course, he is much better looking than a dog. ![]() | |||

| I can just see Rachel being like "Here here Brett, want a treat?" Yeah getting way too into this. Spotting Brett in Adam pictures is like playing Where's Waldo. So fun. I've watched too much I <3 the 90's. __________________ "It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err."
