How is everyones weekend??

Mine was not that nice, I spent most of it in hospital, my father had a herniated disc (I looked that word up, hope you know what I mean) and he was in so much pain, unfortunately it still isnt better and it will take a long time to heal, if it ever will.

Oh Lina sounds like you really had a good time, I hope I can to France soon again, it is just my favorite country and I want to see so many places, such as the Bretange or Normandy....!!!

does any of you watch the European Football Championships?
If you dont know it is held in Austria and Switzerland and so many fans are here in Vienna at the moment, which is great, so far I tried watched every game.
remember, I'm from Germanyand of course I watch the European Football Championships! I can imagine how many fans are over there...the world champoinships were in my country andI remember too good all the fans around...
I've watched almost every gameand it's really funny too see how Italy loses

Awww FRANCE!!! It's my very very very favourite country...great I've found somebody who loves it too!

Poor you! God bless your father. Hope he'll recover soon from whatever it was...could you write this illness or whatever in German????

Lisi - sorry to hear about your dad's back/disc problem... Hope that the doctors can help him feel better soon... Are they considering surgery?

I don't know if they're airing the championships on the channels I get, but do know they sometimes show games...

Yeah. Not a soccer fan here at all.

Aww, Lisi, hope your father recovers.

My grandfather has surgery on Thursday to remove a cancerous spot on his long. Everyone, please pray for him, k? I really would appreciate it.

So sorry to hear that Nik... I'll definitely remember him in my prayers... Just stay positive... Sounds good that they caught it and he's getting good treatment

Hey greeny -- maybe you can talk Nik into watching IF you'll watch her American-style of football?

Soccer.. One of my step-brothers played for YEARS so I have a certain level of appreciation/respect for the game, but yeah I don't watch either unless I don't have a choice

I'd much rather watch Football/Basketball on TV. I like going to baseball games in person but I'm not necessarily wild about watching it on TV. There's just something about being at a baseball game that makes it much more fun.

Football and Basketball can be great both on TV and in person. I was a cheerleader for basketball for 5 years. By now it's in my blood, lol.

With football.. in my family it is not a choice. You are born an MSU(Mississippi State University) fan, lol. Having grown up watching it on TV and going to games(sporadically), it's hard not to get into it sooner rather than later if only out of necessity Go Dawgs!

Well my father is not doing much better, he has do do some more medical examinations untill they are sure what to do, surgery or not, that will take time!
the painkillers are slowly working, that the only thing the docotrs can do so far!
but in a few days he shouldnt be in so much pain anymore they say. so that would be great!
thanks everyone for your nice encouragements!!

I hope your grandfathers surgery went well and he recovers soon!

I love soccer, unfortunately the Austrian soccer team is out of the championships, they lost agianst Germany (I guess Lina you are very happy, Ballacks goal was nice and I hope they can win the next game agianst Portugal)!
the atmosphere here is great, so many soccer fans from all across Europe!

Sorry to hear he's still in a great deal of pain... Sometimes 'time' is the best remedy but that doesn't always mean its an easy thing...
