I suppose spin offs are cheaper to produce than originals because the post production is already in place and they have more chance of an audience. Of course both of those could be said of WAT anyway. I'm not a big fan of spin offs though, they're rarely as good as the original (apart from L&O:CI) and it just seems like a lazy way of making a new show.

Cancelling WAT really made no sense. The actors had agreed to a pay cut, the show was still getting good ratings (according to Niesen it was 16th for the season) and by the looks of the finale the writers thought it was continuing (if not that was a really bad finale). No sense at all

Please go to CBS.com and click on feedback on the bottom of the page. Let them know how you feel about them cancelling WAT. Hopefully if enough of us complain they won't cancel the show.

Lots of rumours floating about. Here's a link to an interview with the producer of Jerry Bruckheimer television.

He says CBS would have had to move it to another time slot and as there have already been so many this would have killed it.
