Well... I have to say I much prefer them now than I used to but there's still the fit thing... but I just have to be more creative with my wardrobe choices

Hey we all learn our tricks...

Are you seriously considering the surgery though?

Hell no! It's not that serious. Besides, I don't have the money for it and it's considered cosmetic when there are no health issues involved. So I am stuck w/ them. LOL

Are we ready for the next question? Not too many answered this past one, but it was fun. I think it's your turn to post the question, Astra.

Okie... sorry I'm late posting it... Just got back home @ midnight last night..

OK...

Do you think that drug companies should be allowed to advertise their products/medicines on television, as they currently do in the U.S.? (I don't know about elsewhere in the world, but would love to hear about it if someone knows)...

Hmm. That's a very good question. I'll have to think about it for a minute. My initial reaction is no, but I want to think about it some more.

Okie...

My personal feeling is no... I'm sick of seeing all that crap on TV... I think physicans may often feel bullied into prescribing something because their patients come to them and though it might not be the best thing for them, they might prescribe it anyway because it is an ok substitute.

Also to illustrate how pervasive they are... when my son was like oh, 8, I guess.. he comes to me and says he needs Nexium or whatever because his stomach hurt. The sad thing is that some adults can be easily convinced like that too....

Yeah, sadly, they can be.

interesting question!

I agree with you and also say no, in my country it is not allowed and I think it is good. as you said Astra many people are easily influenceable and they might see some ads and take that medicine or whatever although they might not even need it.

I think I would just be confused by all those ads, I don“t think I could decide which medicine is good or not, I want to hear that from my doctor.
because the doctor usually knows his patients and a medicine which is good for one person must not be good for tanother.

I just think it's a bit much... I can't open a magazine without seeing at least one ad for a prescription medicine..

I mean certainly, I can see that it is good for patients to be informed about medications etc., but its just too much for me to have it rammed down my throat via commercials etc all the time...

okie... I'll get off my soapbox for now

I am leaning towards no. I don't think it's necessary. People can figure out what they need themselves and do research on their own without seeing an add for everything.

I just saw an ad the other day for a prescription on how to get your eyelashes to grow.

Seriously?

I have heard it all.

I saw that too.... and all the fine print they say really quickly at the end... (about changing the color of your iris)... Hello... our culture's vanity has officially gone too far..

I mean yeah, ok, if a medical condition or whatever gives you no eyelashes at all, I get it but they're clearly aiming at a wider population...

The fine print is the killer.

You'll have great eyelashes but you won't be able to SEE...

Um, ok.
