Rise and Fall

A child is kidnapped from a mall, and the team must shift attention from an ongoing case, leaving it in Martin's hands.

I have mixed feelings about this episode.

Very sad about the woman found and I'm glad they found the little girl alive but the mixed of the two stories didn't flow well to me.

Also, I just LOVE that Jack is getting/got his old job back but like THAT? It just seemed... off. A little bit rushed, too. Was that Medina's last episode? I didn't see that coming.

I don't know -- it was weird.

What did ya'll think of it?

Well, I think perhaps I am easily pleased !. I like the episode and think the show is getting better this season. I did think Medina going was a bit rushed though.

I felt really sorry for Martin who was gutted and in my opinion was way too soft on Medina.

Jack used intimidatory tactics again but in the circumstances, they knew the girl would be killed, I think he did the right thing and at the end of the day a life was saved.

I hope Medina doesn't come back and haunt Jack in a later episode.

I got to watch this ep yesterday! I rather enjoyed it overall... It's nice that they're shaking up the case formats a bit... Seems even more realistic somehow for me..

It was sad that the woman's case was virtually ignored... I'm glad that they showed Martin as a champion of sorts for her... The actress who played her I recognized from the "All My Children" soap...

I also think it's also super-convenient how easy it is for Jack to get his job back... on one hand, perhaps Clark sees how better suited Jack is for it, but still... way too easy a process in my mind...

I think it must've been the last ep for Clark Medina... (wild name by the way)... I noticed he packed up his desk stuff (name plate etc)

I agree... Medina's departure was rushed and I actually think they could have grown his character if he had stayed a bit longer....

Yep... true to character Jack became the 'enforcer'... but you can't argue that he's effective.... That girl would've be dead without it.

I hope the fact that Jack has got off so lightly here doesn't mean he will slip back into his old ways. If he's going to try and have a relationship with Sam (and it seems the storyline is going that way) then he really needs to sort his issues out. Hope he continues with the therapy.

I definitely agree.

He still needs the therapy.

I agree.... plus if we're going to be missing out on the dynamic b/t Medina and Jack, at least the banter b/t him and his therapist will make up for it. A little.

I do hope we see the therapist again, his banter with her was terrific.

It was funny. I think we will see her again. Jack needs that outlet.
