Scott Foley is most definitely awesome.

Even though, there were moments when I really hated Sean, like he said he didn't think of JD as a threat. He gets shown.

Yeah, same here. Sean may have bothered me sometimes (though I didn't think he was a bad person as a whole - just tended to be arrogant) but Scott Foley always did an awesome and hilarious job at playing him.

By the way - have you guys ever heard the commentary for "My Lucky Night?" (Stupid question, I know. lol) I always crack up when Johnny C. and Neil talk about how attractive he is.

John C. McGinley: "I just can't get over how good he is."
Neil Flynn: "Still hanging on? I just came to accept that I'll never be in his arms."
John C. McGinley: "I can't help it. I get lost in his eyes."

Yeah he was never horrible. Just arrogant. I think I like him a lot more post-My Cuz. Which is nice.

He does have amazing eyes.

Yes, I never hated Sean as much as I hated Kim at one point

. He wasn't my favorite, but he was always amusing. But yeah, I definitely started to really enjoy his character more in My Cuz

. The bits between JD and him were priceless. "And he did say 'Good' yesterday I heard him!"

AARRGH, no, I DESPISE SEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But it's so weird he's going to be a Cougar Town regular. Trippy.

I actually can't stand him and his dumb face. I can't see the beauty. That Johnny C/Neil commentary annoys me so much. It makes me want to die! EEPP!
Maybe he'll be likeable on CT.

I kinda liked Sean. I mean not with Elliot, but he was weird in a good way.

Yeah me too. He didn't belcome with Elliot, but he was a fun character on his own. I liked him.

Kind of random, kind of not, but I remember Bill once referring to Sean as the foil character to JD; a sort of Superman in comparison to him. The foil bit is definitely there, but was Sean really that much of a Superman, when you think about it? He was anal, neurotic, and more often than not, awkward. He as a character wasn't perfect (in a good way, though) but I think the only reason he had that Superman element was because of the way he was written in comparison to JD, you know? Or it could just be that it's getting fairly late and I am thinking on it too much, as usual...lol

I can see why Bill would refer to Sean as the foil character to JD, because that part is definitely there. But I agree with you regarding the superman comparison.

. He wasn't a superman, he wasn't perfect, he was just human. Something I've enjoyed in all the characters in Scrubs. They are for the most part good people, but not perfect. Each of them makes a mistake or has some major flaws. Sesn was no exception.

ITA that Sean was in no way perfect, but I think there was a sense that JD almost saw him as that, amongst the hating him, he blatantly thought he was attractive (who wouldn't) and just because he was with Elliot when JD wanted to be, I think JD was always going to feel, in some way inferior to Sean. Even if he couldn't work out why.

Agree 100%. Sean is awkward, anal, and neurotic, yet through JD's eyes, he's this superior person that constantly has JD questioning how good he is, even if Sean doesn't always realize that's what he's doing. (Though I'm sure his "I guess I don't see you as a threat" comment was intentional) And you know...as much as that snide remark made me mad (and still kind of does when I watch the episode) writing it out like this makes me think that was more of Sean's own insecurities. Saying that JD wasn't a threat out loud probably made him feel better about the situation; a way to reassure himself that JD really wasn't.

...Even though he really was.

I disliked Sean, but only because I'm a huge Jelliot fan and he was their main roadblock in season 3.

Scott Foley did a great job at playing him though.

I think part of him thought that he was, because when he came back, he obviously felt somethin when he asked JD if something happened. Who wouldn't be threatened? From Sean's perspective, JD's his girlfriend's best friend, all those inside jokes, and the discovery that they do have a history, Sean's not stupid. I agree with you, maybe he only said it to make him more confident about Elliot's loyalty.
