| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Season One Discussion This thread is something that was talked about over the summer but never started. Now that rerun season is over, but there's a chance of DVDs before too long, I thought we might like somewhere to get nostalgic about our show's killer freshman year.... (thanks to tvtome.com for the descriptions) 1. My First Day (aka Pilot) John Dorian, J.D. to friends, is a boyishly handsome, self-deprecatingly funny, likeable guy who would be confident if he only realized his assets. Four years of medical school have prepared J.D. for his first day as an intern at Sacred Heart Hospital—but he has his doubts. As J.D. is thrown into the chaotic world of hospital life, we not only get to see the quirky characters that he encounters, but also hear the humorous commentary of thoughts streaming through J.D.'s head. By J.D.'s side is his best friend since college, the handsome and confident Chris Turk. As a new surgical intern, Turk struts around with a gregarious and cocky demeanor that hides a terror that he only admits to J.D. Both guys initially have the hots for their attractive fellow intern, Elliot Reid, but J.D. quickly finds out her beauty is only surpassed by her hyper-competitive attitude. Guiding the interns education are those with more medical experience—which at this time is pretty much everyone. Dr. Robert Kelso, Chief of Medicine, wants the interns to think they can count on him—until they actually need something. On the other side of the personality spectrum is Dr. Perry Cox, a steamroller of a man short on patience. However, beneath his gruff presence hides a truly good guy that J.D. learns to respect. Watching over the interns with a caustically teasing but caring demeanor, is Nurse Carla Espinoza, a woman who is motherly and sexy at the same time—which appeals mightily to Turk. 2. My Mentor J.D., Turk, and Elliot are now two weeks into their hospital intern program, and things are going well: the procedures are becoming easier, and no one's life has been endangered—yet. Meanwhile, J.D. and Turk's apartment has become a safe haven away from the stresses and challenges at the hospital, and Elliot has become a frequent visitor. Although J.D. denies it, Turk thinks his buddy is interested in being more than just colleagues with Elliot. Meanwhile, Turk has his own eye on another member of the hospital staff: Carla. At the hospital, J.D., supervised by Dr. Cox, is assigned to Will Forte, a 31-year-old patient admitted with a serious case of pneumonia, and possibly cancer. It turns out that the patient doesn't have cancer, but when J.D. tries to warn him about the possible effects of his 3-pack-a-day smoking habit might have in the future, his advice falls on deaf ears. Elliot is having her own difficulties with Carla after complaining to Dr. Kelso that Carla neglected to run a test on a patient. The rest of the nurses side with Carla, and Elliot's fumbling attempt to apologize gets her deeper in trouble. And Turk's numerous attempts to woo Carla fail, until he gives an impassioned speech that convinces her to go on a date with him. 3. My Best Friend's Mistake Elliot asks J.D. for a kiss, but after they're interrupted by Dr. Cox J.D. has to make a move in 48 hours before going to "the friend zone". Meanwhile, Elliot has problems with Dr. Kelso calling her sweetheart and goes for Dr. Cox for advice, who tells her to confront Dr. Kelso. She does, but later realizes her mistake and thanks Dr. Cox for his advice on fighting her own battles, when Dr. Cox really wanted was to be left alone for once. And J.D. feels neglected by Turk, who has been spending a lot of time with Carla and so little time with him. J.D. even thinks of reporting what could be a mistake from Turk on the very first man he closed up after surgery. J.D. finally remembers that his 48 hours are almost over and rushes to Elliot, but he's too late. He's in the "friends zone". 4. My Old Lady The three interns are each assigned patients with various illnesses. Statistically speaking, one of the three will die. J.D.'s patient is 86-year-old Mrs. Tanner, who is in renal failure; twenty-year-old David Morrison is Turk's hernia patient; and Elliot's patient Mrs. Guerrero, who speaks only Spanish, might have lupus. After diagnosis, the three doctors try to bond with their patients. When no one is watching, Mrs. Tanner leaves her room and goes to the park with her family for a birthday party/picnic for her five-year-old granddaughter. Pursuing J.D., after having some s'mores and cake, brings her back to the hospital, where she tells him she is now ready to die. Turk and David take a moment to bond by watching a classic football game on television; Elliot has Carla teach her some phrases in Spanish so she can communicate with Mrs. Guerrero. All three patients develop life-ending complications. J.D., Turk, and Elliot are shocked by their first professional experience with death; and in their own ways each accepts that death happens, and life goes on. 5. My Two Dads J.D. points out what seems to be a technical mistake to Dr. Kelso, but it was really an attempt of Dr. Cox to save a woman without insurance using a dead guy's insurance. Dr. Cox is at first mad at J.D., who is asked by Dr. Kelso to join him in a golf round. Dr. Kelso and Dr. Cox show J.D. their different ways of looking at medicine (Kelso's medicine-is-a-business look and Cox's patients-first look), and Cox is suspended for using one patient's insurance on another. Meanwhile, the janitor intimidates J.D., Elliot discovers the healing powers of her boobs and Turk gives Carla a pen he took from the "ass box" (the box with the stuff taken out of patients butts) after a small misunderstanding. 6. My Bad Dr. Cox is still facing the threat of suspension, and coincidentally, J.D. is assigned to a special patient: Jordan Sullivan, an important board member. She is very demanding and J.D. ends up sleeping with her after he confronts her. Only he didn't knew she is Dr. Cox's ex-wife, and now the only one who can save J.D.'s mentor from being fired by the evil Dr. Kelso. Meanwhile, Elliot is assigned to take care of a shrink whose jaw has been wired shut, and for whom she ends up becoming a patient. Carla's mom makes a scandal after Turk spends the night at Carla's, and when she breaks her leg Carla blames Turk for it. 7. My Super Ego J.D. has finally earned the spot as brightest student, but he's got competition: Nick Murdoch, who seems to be nicer, friendlier and has a better butt than him. But not even J.D. can hate the guy, for he is so nice. But he is surprised when he finds Nick sitting in a corner crying because he can't take the pressure of medical internship. Meanwhile, Turk is having problems at the operation table and doesn't tell Carla, who keeps bothering Dr. Cox about it. And Dr. Cox gives Turk a very unique suggestion on how to calm down before surgery. 8. My Fifteen Minutes J.D. and Turk become heroes after saving a cameraman's life on TV while heading to a strip club. But Turk quickly becomes the target of a new publicity campaign led by Dr. Kelso, exploiting the hospital's diversity. Meanwhile, J.D. worries about his evaluation. Elliot is going out with Carla, but in the last minute she blows her off and later Elliot run into her in a bar. Carla feels bad about herself and apologizes to Elliot. 9. My Day Off J.D. gets to see the hospital through the eyes of a patient when he's admitted for appendicitis. Elliot examines him and he tells everyone how cold and rough she is, which drives her crazy. She tries new ways of warming her relationship with the patients, but none of them work. J.D. doesn't want Turk to operate him, and that hurts Turk's feelings a bit but he's the one who does J.D. anyway. Meanwhile, Dr. Cox is trying to show off to his mentor, Dr. Benson, the ex-chief of medicine, who is a patient at the hospital. The only thing in his way is Dr. Kelso, who almost dismissed the patient 1 hour before he almost died. At the end, they all celebrate Thanksgiving at the bar, each with their own accomplishments and failures. 10. My Nickname Extremely annoyed with a patient that won't shut up and with Elliot, who won't discharge her, Dr. Cox releases his anger on J.D., and Carla gives Dr. Cox a piece of her mind for messing with her intern. Dr. Cox ridicules J.D. in front of the whole hospital, and J.D. decides to take action and asks Carla not to protect him anymore. She is deeply offended and J.D. feels very bad for losing such a good friend. But despite all that, he's still Bambi (even though the Janitor thinks "Scooter" is a better nickname). Meanwhile, Turk bravely fights for his right to eat lunch on the bench outside the hospital after Dr. Kelso threats him saying that's his bench. 11. My Own Personal Jesus It's Christmas, and even though J.D. and the others don't really feel like celebrating, Turk makes a huge deal about it (specially after one of J.D.'s patients suddenly returns from coma). But his faith and happiness are gone after a very busy night at the hospital, where several people are brought in for the most diverse accidents. Turk wonders if there really is a God, and if so, why he didn't protect all those people. His misbelieve in religion changes after he is guided to find a patient of Elliot's, who ran away from the hospital at the edge of delivering a baby. Speaking of babies, Dr. Cox has J.D. videotape the birth of the child of one of his friends, but J.D. messes it up because he didn't change the tape and thus the birth was not shot. 12. My Blind Date A woman slips and falls on the wet floor of the hospital. Afraid she might sue the hospital (and consequently having some big heads roll), Dr. Kelso asks J.D. to stand by her and be friendly so she won't sue them. But J.D. is very busy with Dr. Cox's 24-hour marathon to keep his ICU patients alive. Dr. Kelso's assignment fits like a glove for J.D. to help Elliot, who is desperate for some attention from Dr. Cox. J.D.'s relationship with the injured lady deepens and even though he hasn't seen her face (she got stuck in the ultrasound machine), he thinks about asking her out, but is afraid she might not be attractive. After advising Elliot to face her fears, J.D. decides to do the same thing and asks the lady out. Meanwhile, Turk snaps at Carla when she steals fries from his plate, but after a few arguments he tells her he loves her. 13. My Balancing Act Alex is about to emerge from the M.R.I. machine in front of an apprehensive J.D., who has just asked her out but doesn't know what she looks like. She's hot. The two of them have a romantic dinner at a restaurant one night and are enjoying a second date the next night when they are interrupted by a page from Dr. Cox. Later in the week, J.D. and Alex arrange to get together at the same restaurant. Their plans are messed up again when J.D. gets caught up with a patient while Alex waits patiently for him at the restaurant. He tries to make it up to her the next day, but because of his busy and unpredictable schedule, she decides to break it off. He makes one more attempt to get back together, but she turns him down. After thinking about it overnight, Alex reconsiders her decision. She surprises J.D. with a picnic basket dinner that they share in an empty hospital room. Meanwhile, Carla and Turk are enjoying their newly announced love for one another. But their usually wonderful lovemaking session isn't so wonderful when Turk can't perform. Since J.D. is a little preoccupied, Turk turns to his fellow surgical intern Todd for solace. And after much begging and pleading from Elliot, Carla confides in her: the problem wasn't Turk, it was her inability to reach orgasm. (Elliot shyly confesses she has never had one, and Carla gives her some surprising laundry advice.) A day later, Turk and Carla discuss their relationship and decide that even though they've said "I love you" to each other, it doesn't mean that they have to plan the wedding tomorrow. Turning to hospital business, Dr. Cox fills in for Dr. Kelso on morning rounds. The interns are surprised to find that mean as he is, Dr. Cox is much nicer to them when they can't give him instant right answers. Dr. Kelso is aghast to discover that everyone in the hospital seems to have lost their fear of him, and demands to resume his tyrannical rounds routine. 14. My Drug Buddy J.D. chooses Alex over Elliot when the two argue over missing medication, based solely on his chances of (quoting Turk) "booty"; totally ignoring Elliot's feelings. Elliot is very hurt, and won't even speak to him. Later, J.D. finds the pills on Alex's purse and they break up. He apologizes to Elliot, who confesses she was jealous of him while they rush to bed. Meanwhile, Carla gets a ride with Dr. Kelso and for a brief moment starts to believe he may actually have a caring heart. But Dr. Kelso proves her wrong after she hides behind his car avoiding being seen with him by the other nurses. And Turk develops a conflict with Dr. Cox after J.D. finds out Dr. Cox has secret feelings for Carla. 15. My Bed Banter & Beyond After going to bed and spending an entire day having sex, J.D. and Elliot go to work trying to hide their new secret romance, but everybody already knows it. Soon the relationship deepens, and Elliot start feeling jealous of what Turk and Carla have together. J.D.'s silly jokes and remarks don't help either, and after a heart breaking discussion about J.D. not respecting her, they decide to end whatever they had. 16. My Heavy Meddle The awkwardness between J.D. and Elliot is so big that they can't even be in the same room together. Seeing his friends drift apart, Turk picks Elliot to work with him on a project, hoping it will bring the two together again. Todd, in a desperate attempt to hit on Elliot, tells Elliot that Turk picked her as his geek partner so she would do most of the work. Elliot abandons Turk, who reveals his real intentions. Finally, the awkwardness between J.D. and Elliot starts to cool off and they start having fun again like old times (throwing watermelons from the top of the building, for example). Meanwhile, Dr. Cox releases his anger by destroying an entire lab and later drags J.D. to a bar (with J.D. in his pajamas), where he opens his heart to him. And Carla confronts Dr. Kelso after he denies one of Carla's patient coma whishes, while the hospital lawyer develops a weird crush on her. 17. My Student J.D., Elliot and Turk are receiving their first medical students, and now they finally get a chance to see what it feels like to be on the other side. Elliot can't wait to unleash all her medical student frustration on her intern. She starts off tough with her rude and annoying student, but softens after learning he is the son of the CEO of the corporation that owns the hospital. It takes Dr. Kelso to open her eyes and show her that she doesn't have to kiss his ass for Elliot to get tough again. Turk's student is a very attractive young woman, for whom Dr. Cox is immediately attracted to. But he doesn't know his way around women (specially when he's getting over Carla), and needs Turk to give him a little help. And J.D.'s student carries a lot of resemblances to J.D. when he first started. J.D. doesn't know how to handle him, and tired of cleaning up after him, J.D. tells Josh that he shouldn't be a doctor. Josh quits the program, and J.D. has to pull a Dr. Cox-esque persona to encourage him through negative reinforcement. 18. My Tuscaloosa Heart J.D. has a patient who's rude to him and the nurses, and eventually dies from cancer. J.D. feels awful for not giving him his full attention and worries maybe he could have saved the guy if he was nicer to him, even though that's not true. Meanwhile, Elliot is convinced that Dr. Kelso is the one singing a song called "Tuscaloosa Heart" in a tape given to her by a patient who claims he went to college with Bob. And Dr. Cox finds himself trapped into a love square: he's falling in love with Kristen Murphy, his intern, just as his ex-wife reappears demanding sex – and he can't avoid her – and there's also his crush on Carla, that made him stand Kristen up. When she finds out about the other women, she leaves him, and Perry is once again at mercy of his ex-wife Jordan. 19. My Old Man An assortment of moms and dads descend on their offspring at home and in the workplace. J.D.'s father is a gregarious yet lonely divorcé who's desperately trying to be just one of the guys. Elliot's folks, on the other hand, are a snooty couple whose pompous behavior dismays their daughter. Similarly rattled is Turk, unnerved by the bonding of his girlfriend, Carla, and his brassy mother. But the most vexatious parent by far is the janitor's dad. 20. My Way or the Highway Turk' competitiveness is starting to annoy J.D., specially when it crosses the line of personal jokes and becomes a patients matters (whether or not a patient should go into surgery is their latest feud). Meanwhile, Dr. Cox finally has a taste of good coffee, but thanks to his feud with Dr. Kelso, the only nurse who was able to make it gets fired. It takes a public apology from Dr. Cox for Dr. Kelso go back on his decision and bring back "coffee nurse". And Elliot meets a very attractive patient whom she instantly identifies, but has a really hard time getting him to ask her out. 21. My Sacrificial Clam J.D. fears being contaminated with Hepatitis B. after a needle accidentally sticks his forearm. From then on, he tries to avoid any contagious patient, trading one of them with Dr. Cox. When the results are out and J.D. is clean, he tries to make up for his foolishness by spending some time with the contagious patient out of his own free will. Meanwhile, Elliot has a hard time combining her new relationship and keeping up with studies and chooses her studies over him. And Turk obsesses about getting in shape after Carla makes a fat joke about him. 22. My Occurrence (1) Jordan's brother Ben is admitted at Sacred Heart for having an accident with a nail gun. Ben and Dr. Cox are long time buddies, and they go out for drinks after Ben is released. They bring J.D. with them, who quickly bonds with easygoing, spontaneous picture taker Ben. But while playing pool, Ben's hand starts to bleed, which takes them back to the hospital for more tests. When the results are back, J.D. learns that Ben has leukemia, but won't believe it since both Elliot and Turk had wrong results on their patients. Unfortunately, J.D. isn't so lucky and has to face the sad reality of telling Ben his condition. To Be Continued… 23. My Hero (2) Ben takes the news of his diagnosis pretty well - better than his sister Jordan and J.D. at least. Remarkably, it is Dr. Cox who is the voice of reason and compassion, until his own fears get in the way. Meanwhile, Turk and Elliot have their own issues to deal with. Turk is upset because he wasn't chosen to assist on a difficult surgery and Elliot is criticized during rounds by Dr. Kelso for the 100th time. 24. My Last Day It's J.D.'s last day as an intern. It's been quite a year for the three new doctors. But nevertheless they have work to do. J.D. passes on one of his patients that keeps returning to the hospital to Elliot, who had just gotten the task of running a physical on Jordan. Elliot passes the patient to Turk, who refuses to take it. When the three decide to rock-paper-scissors the patient to see who gets it, they realize what they're doing and decide to make up for it by teaming together to give the patient a surgery so he won't have to come back again. In order to do that, they have to get Dr. Cox's support, Dr. Kelso's approval and a board member to approve it - Jordan. Everything turns out right for them and the patient gets his surgery. When they're finally celebrating both their first day as residents and the success of their teamwork, Jordan shows up. She decided to take Perry's advice to "shake things up a little" and reveals all the secrets she knows: Perry's feelings towards Carla and Turk's awareness of it; Dr. Kelso's lies about giving Perry a promotion; Elliot's true feelings for J.D.; and the cherry on the top of the sundae: the time she slept with J.D. "Enjoy your summer" she says. So - things you liked, things you didn't, favourite episodes, favourite moments, nows your chance to discuss it all! __________________ I’m just bowled over by him. | I definately heart season one. Really can't wait til its out on dvd....here are a couple of random favourite moments of mine from season one... - Dr.Cox showing up at J.D's appartment, "listen up little piggy, if you don't open the door within the next three seconds, I WILL start huffing and puffing!" and then "oh dear lord, please tell me that's not a onesie" and dragging J.D out the door to the bar (My Heavy Meddle)- John Ritter as J.D's dad.... ![]() - Dr. Kelso singing in "My Tuscaloosa Heart" - Jordan and Perry ganging up on J.D in "My Personal Jesus" (oh how I love that moment) - Brendan Fraser If there was anything I didn't like about season one, it was the beginning of Dr. Cox's crush on Carla...only because it was dismissed so quickly in season two...just pretty pointless...in my opinion anyway. Will definately add more to the thread soon....(by the way, it would be cool to see some season 1 avis/icons ...) | |||

| Hi! I've been super busy but promise to try and post here more. I still love Scrubs and it deserves its own board! ![]() I think the first season is my favorite, mainly for reasons ~drunkenscarredangel already mentioned. John Ritter as J.D's dad was priceless, and I think Elliot was at her most neurotic, and J.D and Turk were closer than ever...and it was before Tara Reid .I think My Way or the Highway was my favorite episode. __________________ Oh, I steal things all the time. I don't know if I could say any one season is my favourite, but then I again as much as I adore season one, the show just gets better as it goes along! I love the part in My Mentor when JD's trying to convince Will not to smoke anymore and he uses that voice box thingy - the way he's like "Will, this is SERIOUS!" and then starts messing around with it is classic ![]() Aargh there's just so much stuff! I could list at least ten things I love in every episode, so even if nobody else uses this thread I'll just keep talking to myself about season one! ![]() __________________ I’m just bowled over by him. | Awww, Rach's crazy, that's so cute! Maybe we could have a thread called Rach Talks to Rach about Scrubs appreciation thread, I'd watch it ![]() Wow, ten moments per episode? I can't even get my thoughts assembled to figure out my ten favourite episodes (apart from number 1 - that I know). But I do have a couple more things I love about it to add.... ![]() - J.D telling Cox about Goose in "Top Gun" ("did you know that Goose is actually the guy in E.R?" "No, I didn't, but please, keep talking!") I just remember thinking how much I loved the fact that E.R existed in Scrubs world, and that J.D was probably a huge fan ![]() - For some reason my favourite quote (or one of them) for season 1 - was: Kelso: Tell him my most important rule Ted Ted: Too much ha ha, pretty soon, boo-hoo! - Dr.Cox watching the Jordan video in "My Bad" (I remembered thinking that they'd probably never get back together, but wanting them to). - Dr. Cox becoming the guidance couselor to J.D and Elliot...and giving her bad advice ![]() And to think, when I saw this show advertised in a magazine, I was going to completely ignore it (thank god I didn't!) Hmmm, I'll shut up for now....save more for later! | |||

Alright, maybe after rewatching. ![]() Quote:
"Dr. Dorian, I owe you an apology; obviously I was unclear when I said, "Stay in the MRI room with that patient" It must have sounded like, "Leave! and do other things." ![]() But I think my favourite line in the entire season would have to be Todd's thoughts' response to Turk thinking: "Please! Just because I'm thorough and I want to keep two kelly clamps on the field in case their appendiceal artery is inadvertently incised so I can gain immediate hemostatic control doesn't mean I think too much." "Dum de dum dum dum shiny scalpel... dum de dum dum dum gonna slice him up..." ![]() __________________ I’m just bowled over by him. He’s made my life exponentially more livable.

| Okay, give me ten fave moments from..."My Old Lady" then if you're up to the task....I love the fact that everyone is pretty much quotable in the show.... ![]() Ah, the Todd... "All I heard was lesbian..." "Oh, it's cool, J.D's in the closet talking to a girl for me" | |||

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Oh you would pick the season one episode I've seen the least! Since C4 didn't show it til they were rerunning season one on Sunday afternoons last autumn I couldn't tape it! But anyway, I shall try...I love the start of the episode where JD rewinds time so that he can not offend Carla and Elliot and then says exactly the same thing anyway! I also really love the part where Mrs Tanner gets JD to be manly and yell all of her family out of the room and then as soon as they're gone offers him "hard candy". I like how the screen splits so that you can see all three of them at the same time. (Can I just say I feel like I'm in When Harry Met Sally right about now? Starting every sentence with "I like how" or similar...and hey, that's even Scrubs related! Yay Marco!) Oh, I love the part where Mrs Tanner's at the party and JD looks at the cake and asks if they couldn't have gotten a big cake! ![]() Elliot: I'm a chunky monkey from funky town. Carla: I'm gonna have a little trouble translating that. I also really liked the moment between Carla and Elliot when Elliot gets Carla to teach her some Spanish so she can talk to the patient. Its like that was the start of them actually getting along. JD: I admitted this really neat old lady today. Turk: "Neat"? Dude, the 1930s called and they want their lingo back. ...and how he keeps using the "somebody called" joke...I love the somebody called joke! the delivery man who comes in and says "Got a ton of bricks for Dr Dorian?" and JD has to sign for them before they fall on his head Cute! And his list of things Mrs Tanner should do before she dies...thats funny and sad at the same time. "Go to the top of the Meiffel Tower." And my fave Dr Cox rant for the episode? Dr. Cox: Listen, cookie, you've been here over a month. This is Medicine 101: I don't want every little thing run by me, I don't wanna give you my two cents' worth. But if you ever do wanna know my opinion, rest assured it will always be that you're an incredible pain and that every time I see your kew-pie-doll face, it just makes me wanna pick you up and shake you until all the hours of my life that you've wasted...fall out. And wow, look, dead on ten! Shall we just rename the thread "Challenge Rach"? ![]() ...and okay, I used to transcript to remind me of a couple of things ![]() __________________ I’m just bowled over by him. | Transcript? oh no, that's definately cheating, you should have known everything, every quote off by heart.... Or not, I don't care... I think I've only seen that episode once, thanks for reminding me of all the wonderful things in this ep (Chunky Monkey, oooh, thats another quote I LOVE!). This was the episode that prompted my mum to say, "sometimes this show is really funny, and other times it's really....lame" (she was referring to the end when the old lady died) she loves it now, so don't bash her too much ![]() Yes, we should rename this thread "Challenge Rach" sounds good enough to me! I'll wait a while before I challenge you again, unless you're dying to tackle another eppy ![]() P.S - non season one related, thanks for reminding me of Marco, kind of makes me want to make a thread dedicated to him, but then, since he's only been in two and a half episodes there wouldn't be enough to say ![]() | |||

We have a season four thread lost down there somewhere, although I need to edit some episode summaries into it. Start a Marco thread if you like! We love him! And if it's a Marco/Freddy thread we can talk about other things, too ... *whispers* Doooo it!There really are so many good parts in each episode! __________________ I’m just bowled over by him. | I'll give you a rest for a while then, but let me know when you're up for another challenge, ![]() Yep, It would be cool to wait a while before a season two, then a season three thread - that way we can spend time on season one first. I kind of expected you to do them straight away (what with needing posts and all that). Whatever you think is best. I know, every episode is choc-full of goodness, which makes me desperately want the dvds now...so I can remember all the good times that I may not remember so well.... ....Well, good to see that there's support for a Marco thread! I didn't want to open it and then get it shut down. That would be slightly embarrassing...

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I did think about doing them all at once ... but we have to keep the post count up for another month still before the official count is over, so I figured spreading it out might help somewhat with making people keep coming back. I need to do a check ... we need an average of 100 a week and I have a count taken from when they started, which was 4 weeks ago ... so as long as we have over 400 posts, we should be right? But I guess even if we don't have the 400, if we can get over 100 a week every week til then, we can pull it back up. __________________ I’m just bowled over by him. | So… can I enter this crazy lovely thread with another 10 moments of Episode 1.04? I’m going to try not to look at tapescripts (except for some quotations – I remember the words, but in Italian) Let’s see how much obsessed I am: 1- After JD has listed all the things Mrs Tanner should have (and actually has) done, she tells him to go out and lay on the grass etc; JD says he has something to fix on the monitor. He feels so uncomfortable and Mrs Tanner hugs him…so sweet! 2- JD and Turk talking about how they relate to patients. JD asks Turk his patient’s name and Turk goes “Hernia patient, but we’ve become closer so I call him ‘Hernia’!” 3- The surreal scene of Mrs Tanner’s escape from the hospital!! 4- The final thoughts of JD: And on days like that, I guess the best you can hope for is that you took something from it – and we see that Turk has learnt to consider his patients as people! 5- Right before and after the brick delivery scene: JD’s eyes expression and open mouth (how can Zach Braff be so sweet?) 6- Again the word “neat”, but when Kelso, talking with JD, refers to Mrs Tanner as a “neat lady” and J.D.: That's what I said! Dr. Kelso: Nobody likes a brown-nose, son. 7- Same scene, the janitor gestures to JD this sentence “I am going to kill you” and JD responds silently “why?” and the Janitor shrugs! (Hell, this game is hard…) 8- Elliott to Carla “Speaking of Heparin, have you slept with Turk yet?” and Elliot’s reflections as how she uses sex as icebreaker and she doesn’t have not so much self-esteem…(Elliot’s sweet, too) 9- I love – even it is sad – the OR scene where Turk and Bonnie are checking on David’s hernia and they find a dark mass. Turk “what is that?” and Dr Wen nods, and everyone knows what it is. Sad but really touching. 10- AND I was forgetting MY actual fav scene!!! JD vs the Grim Reaper playing CONNECT FOUR! Grim Reaper: I win. J.D.: Where, I don't see? Grim Reaper: Here, diagonally. J.D.: Pretty sneaky, Death! Wow that’s SO funny! And YES, I have done it, 10 brand new favourite moments of 1.04! What about 1.09 - My day off? Another of my favourite episodes… ready, Rach? ![]() __________________ "When you really really let go and get lost, you find everything else you never knew was there." - Lady GaGa | |||

Okay, but next time there's a challenge on, it's my turn to pick the episode! ![]() Right ... as transcriptless as I can... My Day Off. 1. When they're telling stories at the bar at the start and JD claims to be Mr Smooth with a beer in his hand ... Jennifer's story is that she laughed so hard milk shot out of her nose, and JD's is that he tripped over and IV and blood shot everywhere! 2. Turk telling Carla that JD was up all night "with a high fever, cramping and crying" and even in the pain he's in, JD manages to complain and Turk has to amend it to "Punching the wall all manly and angry like" ![]() 3. JD's Thoughts: On the bright side it'll be interesting to see what it feels like to be a patient here. Janitor: You know people die here? JD: You're a good friend. Janitor: Eh, I do what I can. Can I have your stuff? 4. JD saying he doesn't want Elliot to see his unmentionables and her thinking he meant underwear. "Actually I use the word 'unmentionables' for my genitals, too." 5. Dr Cox attempting to smother Dr Benson and Carla being all shocked and Dr Cox just calmly tells her to relax because it's not really his Dad, while still smothering the guy! 6. Elliot's cold hands - "Elliot's exam was frighteningly remeniscent of when my older brother used to beat the crap out of me." 7. Dr Cox telling JD that Dr Benson was his mentor so not to do "that annoying thing" - which turns out to be talking! 8. JD.: Do they celebrate Thanksgiving in your homeland? Carla: You mean Chicago? JD.: You have a Chicago? 9. Turk: The only thing J.D.'s scared of is sharks and he has this weird thing with pennies, but that's it. He's not not scared about this. and Turk: Now you can have ginger ale and a cracker. JD: Ooh! Turk: Oh and I forgot, your change… two pennies. JD: Get those pennies away from me! I love the callbacks to the pilot there!! 10. Dr Cox rant for the episode: "You know I did get it there Bob, and at first I just threw it away. But then I decided that wasn't a grand enough gesture. So I made a replica of you out of straw and then I put my lab coat on it with your memo in the pocket and then I invited all the kids in the neighborhood to come over and light it on fire and whack it with sticks." __________________ I’m just bowled over by him.
