I have a couple of questions about Milosch (Sp?), the foreign surgeon who plagued Turk for an episode or two. What country was he supposed to be from? The accent suggested eastern European/Russia, as well as his comments about reattaching a kids limbs in the shell of a burned out car, but no specifics were given.

Also, at the end of one of the episodes he was in, there was a scene with him and Kelso on the roof. Milosch was shirtless and Kelso was spraying him with a hose, saying "This will only make you stronger." I took that as an homage to An Officer and a Gentlemen. But the dude playing Milosch had a huge scar running across his chest, any info on what was up with that?

Thanks for any and all answers.

Yeah, and they suggest he got involved in the last Balkan War, therefore the scar.
I actually suspected it could be not so easy for the American audience to understand that character, but as I closely witnessed the fall of the Yugoslav regime and I am familiar with that type of conflict veteran, I truly appreciated the writers's choice.

I think all war and killing is futile and especially the wars that happened in the Balkans after the fall of former Yugoslavia.

You're right (but it reminds me of Kelso fearing that the discussions about Iraqi War may lead astray the personnel ). However, it is a (minor) theme of Scrubs after all.
(Remlap, I agree! Just saying it was great to see such a character on American TV, and the humour about him was brilliant and not at all offensive towards that people and their tragedy)

If you have the dvds, check out the commentary for that episode. The scar isn't real; it's just make-up, but they talk about it on there, and it's pretty interesting. Hope that helps.

Slumming from the ABC Scrubs forum are we?

IIRC, that episode doesn't have a commentary track and if it does, there isn't any mention of the scar. Plus it's only onscreen for a second or to, and with something that big, I'd imagine they'd make a bigger thing of it in the episode.

Myself, along with other members over at the ABC boards, were kindly invited here by one of the mods on this forum, in case the ones at ABC close. (Though it appears they won't be closing now, what with the announcement of Season 9) I didn't know I needed to officially announce myself, or that me being a part of the ABC board had anything to do with partaking on this thread...

As for the episode having no commentary, it does. And yes, it does make mention of his scar. A couple of times, actually. I know the dvds vary from country to country though, which is why yours may not have a commentary. For example: Some of the dvd sets only hold three discs in one country, while in another, it holds four. There are even some commentaries out there that have been created but never made it to the dvd itself. (Check out "My Lucky Night" with John C. McGinley and Neil Flynn if you ever get the chance)

Anyway, I popped on by to check out the forum, saw a question, and did my best to answer it. No biggie.

I invited you to the board and I'm more than happy, you're one of the most competent people I know about Scrubs.
Thanks for answering the question, and yep dvds change from country to country.
