Directors who have Scrubbed in

I didn't see a thread on this already but if there is I guess the mods will just close it.

I was lookin over the Scrubs stats on imdb and I was surprised by some of the directors.

Directed by
Adam Bernstein (episodes 1.01, 1.02, 1.03, 1.19, 1.20, 2.1, 2.18, 3.13, 3.19)
Zach Braff (episode 4.08 "My Last Chance" 2004) (episode "My Best Laid Plans" 03/01/05)
Marc Buckland (episodes 1.04, 1.06, 1.12, 1.21, 2.05, 2.16)
Henry Chan (episodes 3.16, 4.6)
Matthew Diamond (episodes 1.10, 1.17)
Jason Ensler (episode 3.18 "His Story II")
Elodie Keene (episode 1.9 "My Day Off")
Joanna Kerns (episode 4.07 "My Common Enemy")
Chris Koch (episodes 2.13, 3.09, 3.11, 3.14, 4.10)
Peter Lauer (episode 1.7 "My Super Ego")
Bill Lawrence (episodes 2.22, 3.01, 3.22, 4.01)
Will Mackenzie (episodes 1.16, 2.20)
Gail Mancuso (episodes 2.10, 3.17, 4.02, 4.09)
Jeffrey Melman (episode 1.11 "My Own Personal Jesus")
Matthew Perry (episode 4.11 "My Unicorn")
Michael Spiller (episodes 1.13, 1.14, 1.23, 1.24, 2.3, 2.6, 2.14, 2.19, 2.21, 3.2, 3.3, 3.12)
Lawrence Trilling (episodes 1.08, 1.15, 1.18, 1.22, 2.07 and 2.09)
Ken Whittingham (episodes 2.08, 2.15, 3.08, 4.03, 4.04)
Craig Zisk (episodes 1.05, 2.02, 3.10, 3.15)

I didn't realize that Joanna Kerns (Growing Pains) was a director nor Matthew Perry. I noticed Gail Mancuso also directed Inside Schwartz which starred Breckin Meyer - Donald Faison's co-star in Clueless. I'd like to see him guest star if he hasn't already.

That's an excellent topic for discussion, Crystal!

I personally love Zach's direction, which sort of shows his directing style already, even after only directing Garden State and two episodes!

Matthew Perry directed the episode that he guest starred in earlier this season; I thought he did very well for his directing debut, considering he appeared in the episode, too. I thought he might appear in one and direct another, so he did an awesome job for a first timer.

I actually would have expected Bill Lawrence to have directed more.

I didn't know that about Joanna Kerns either!

I loved when Matthew directed (of course!) and I hope he'll come back and direct again (if not guest as well!).

He said he would, if they offered and if he'd had a lot of sleep! So here's hoping!

As for Joanna Kerns, I remember seeing her name as a directing credit but I never watched Growing Pains, so I didn't make a link.

I missed the episode with Matthew Perry.
I hope they rerun it soon. I love learning of female directors. There are far too few of them.

I remember after My Common Enemy aired, someone on another board commented on Joanna Kerns' directing and said it was hacky and not very good, but I must say, I never noticed anything wrong. I thought it was a solidly directed episode, the same as all Scrubs eps are ... it wasn't standout, like Zach's are (to me), but it was still good!

Hopefully they will, they seem to be doing reruns in order from My Cake onwards ... which means My Common Enemy is this week, and that's Joanna Kerns' ep, if anyone wants to look at it with a view to the directing instead of the acting!

My Boss's Free Haircut was directed by someone called John Inwood, is he a first-timer on Scrubs?
