The Dark Side Versus the Light ... Mysteries and Goofs of Scrubs
So ... as far as mysteries go, here are some things for you to think about:
  • Where did Carla and Marco grow up?
    - Carla said that Marco didn't learn English (which he did, but thats not relevant...) after they moved to the US from the Dominican Republic. Why, then, in My Day Off, did she and JD have this discussion:

    JD: Do they celebrate Thanksgiving in your homeland?
    Carla: You mean Chicago?
    JD: You have a Chicago? Be nice to me, I'm getting surgery.
  • Why was Marco wearing a vest to his mother's funeral in the first place?
    - other than Grace's theory that basically he secretly hated her, which ties in with our next mystery...
  • Why did Carla "practically raise" Marco? Where was their mother?

Yes, I realise they were all Marco related, but that thread is where this thread idea sprung from. Feel free to add more!

...and now for the goofs...
  • When J.D. passes Turk, Carla & Elliot in the cafeteria you can clearly see two plates of food on Turk's tray but as he and Elliot exit the line, to find a seat, he only has a piece of cake and a small milk. (My Bad)
  • Elliot comments that she's going to need a "vagina transplant". As we know from the rest of the series, Elliot never says the word 'vagina', instead replacing it with 'Bajingo'. (My Bed Banter & Beyond)
  • In the cafeteria scene towards the end when Dr.Cox, Turk and JD talk about their problems, Dr.Cox can be seen wearing a 'Bob Kelso' coat for a few shots instead of 'Perry Cox' in the others. (My Monster)

...and my own personal favourite, in My Common Enemy, Dan bought a Dido CD for Elliot - Dido's recent album, Life for Rent, but the song playing (that JD sang along to, it wasn't just background music) was Thank You, from her first album, No Angel.

That is a pretty important one....though I'm kinda more curious to figure out the whole "vesto" thing. But obviously THAT one is NEVER gonna be answered, so I shall just have to deal with it

Oh he would just say "because we needed some sort of conflict between Turk and Marco to start off their rivalry" and not give us any deep-rooted background like we would really want!

Though realistically if he WERE to come on, and tell us ANYTHING we'd probably be satisfied

This is true.

But then once he'd gone we'd get back to the but wwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyy?

I think he'd give us something more creative than that, though, no matter how much rubbish it was!

Oh, he'd make up something like "well, Marco wasn't loved as a child, and became an angry young man, and this was his revenge on an uncaring mother"



Somehow I think I'd be satisfied with that

Great idea for a thread.

According to imdb, there's the following error --
  • In the first season credits, the chest x-ray that is passed around and finally posted is backwards (the cardiac silhouette is to the right). In the second season credits, this has been corrected (and it is a different x-ray).
I've never actually noticed that, but when I watch now, I'm going to be looking out for that.
