Fast National ratings for Monday, March 1, 2004

FOX had the Will(iam Hung) on Monday night, but CBS found a way to finish atop the ratings.

The Eye network averaged a 10.2 rating/16 share in primetime to finish a little more than a point ahead of FOX, 9.1/14. NBC was third at 8.3/13, followed by ABC at 6.9/10. The WB came in at 3.1/5 and UPN at 2.4/4.

FOX led the way among adults 18-49 with a 6.7 rating. NBC was second at 6.1, edging out CBS' 5.8. ABC averaged 2.4, The WB 1.7 and UPN 1.5.

The "American Idol" special "Uncut, Uncensored and Untalented" gave FOX a win at 8 p.m. with an 11.2/17. NBC's "Fear Factor," 7.5/11, was second. ABC's movie "The Mystery of Natalie Wood" (6.9/10 average from 8 to 11 p.m.), tied for third with CBS' "Yes, Dear" and "Still Standing." The WB's "7th Heaven," 3.7/5, finished fifth. UPN trailed with "The Parkers" and "Eve."

CBS claimed the lead at 9 p.m. with "Everybody Loves Raymond," 11.1/16, and "Two and a Half Men," 10.8/16. "Las Vegas," 8.1/12, kept NBC in second. The premiere of "Forever Eden" on FOX started fairly strong (7.8/11) but dipped substantially in its second half-hour (6.1/9) to finish at 6.9/10, tied for third with ABC's movie. "Girlfriends," 2.7/4, and "Half and Half," 2.6/4, moved UPN into fifth, ahead of a "7th Heaven" repeat on The WB.

"CSI: Miami" was the night's most-watched show, averaging 12.8/20 for CBS at 10 p.m. The finale of "Average Joe: Hawaii," 9.3/14, was a strong second for NBC. "The Mystery of Natalie Wood" held steady in third for ABC.

FYI, I found this at the Futon Critic:

LAS VEGAS (NBC) - The show's creator, Gary Scott Thompson, has signed a two-year, seven-figure development deal with the show's producer, NBC Studios. The pact calls for Thompson to continue as showrunner on "Vegas" through the length of the deal as well as develop new projects for the studio.

Thanks for the info, Gary Scott Thompson must be a very happy man right now. Since he created this wounderful show, I'm glad that he's staying on board.

Reruns Fuel CBS Monday; NBC Runs Away with 18-49 Title

Fast National ratings for Monday, March 15, 2004

NBC's lineup of original episodes wasn't enough to beat CBS' slate of repeats for the overall ratings crown Monday, but it was enough to score a win among adults 18-49.

CBS averaged an 8.5 rating/13 share in primetime. NBC was close behind at 8.1/13, while ABC was a solid third at 7.4/12. Without an "American Idol" lead-in, new comedy "Cracking Up" fared poorly along with the rest of the FOX lineup, finishing a distant fourth at 3.3/5. The WB averaged 2.4/4 and UPN 2.2/3.

Among adults 18-49, NBC's 5.8 rating led the competition by a fairly sizable margin. CBS was second at 4.4, followed by ABC, 3.7; FOX, 2.4; and UPN and The WB, tied for fifth at 1.3.

"Fear Factor" won the 8 p.m. hour for NBC with an 8.6/13. "Yes, Dear," 6.4/10, and "Still Standing," 7.0/11, put CBS in second. ABC took third with the movie "The Green Mile." A repeat of "That '70s Show," 3.8/6, and "Cracking Up," 3.4/5, did well enough to give FOX the No. 4 spot. A "7th Heaven" rerun averaged 2.9/5 for The WB, beating out "The Parkers" and "Eve" on UPN.

CBS moved into the lead at 9 p.m. with "Everybody Loves Raymond," 9.6/15, and "Two and a Half Men," 8.8/13. NBC dropped one spot with "Las Vegas," 8.7/13, which nonetheless did a good job of holding its lead-in audience. ABC's movie improved to 7.6/12 in its second hour. "Forever Eden" kept FOX in fourth. Reruns of "Girlfriends," 2.1/3, and "Half and Half," 2.0/3, moved UPN in front of The WB, which aired an "Everwood" repeat.

At 10 p.m., "CSI: Miami" posted a 9.6/16 to hold the lead for CBS. "The Green Mile" concluded with an 8.2/13 for ABC, while the premiere of "Average Joe: Adam Returns" scored a 7.2/12 for NBC.

Fast National ratings for Monday, March 22, 2004

Monday night's ratings race was not a close one, as CBS, led by "CSI: Miami," coasted to a sizable win over its rivals.

CBS averaged a 10.8 rating/17 share in primetime, easily beating second-place NBC's 8.0/13. ABC was third at 5.7/9, followed by FOX, 3.8/6; UPN, 2.3/4; and The WB, 1.9/3.

Among adults 18-49, the margin was narrower, but CBS still came out on top with a 5.8 rating. NBC was right behind at 5.7 in its favored demographic. FOX averaged 2.6, ABC 2.3, UPN 1.4 and The WB 0.9.

"Fear Factor," 8.9/14, started NBC's night with a win over the CBS duo of "Yes, Dear," 7.4/12, and "Still Standing," 8.1/12. ABC's movie "NTSB: The Crash of Flight 323" (5.6/9 average from 8 to 10 p.m.) finished third. FOX's new lineup of "The Bernie Mac Show," 4.3/7, and "Cracking Up," 3.3/5, didn't generate much heat. A rerun of "7th Heaven" on The WB averaged 2.5/4 to finish just head of "The Parkers" and "Eve" on UPN.

CBS took over at 9 p.m. with "Everybody Loves Raymond," 11.9/18, and "Two and a Half Men," 11.1/17. "Las Vegas," 8.7/13, kept NBC solidly in second, while ABC's movie remained in third. FOX averaged 3.7/6 with two repeats of "That '70s Show." UPN moved into fifth with "Girlfriends," 2.4/4, and "Half and Half," 2.2/3. The WB's "Everwood" repeat trailed.

At 10 p.m., "CSI: Miami" posted the night's highest rating, 13.3/22. It scored better than the combined numbers for NBC's "Average Joe: Adam Returns" (6.3/10) and ABC's "20/20" special (5.8/10).
