Peter and Gillian Gray - The Perfect Couple?!

Yeah a thread Honeymink missed.

Peter and Gillian Grey are such and awesome couple. I hope they ALWAYS stay together.

I thought a couple of times they were going to break them up especially when they took Ned away, but I think that just made them strong... well until Gillian went into coma... but I think they'll it out... TPTB just need drama in the show.

so anyone else just LOVE this couple together as much as I do.

ahm - you can call me nikki, no need for the formal screenname.

isn't it spelled "Gray"? i remember how amy flipped when they spelled her name wrong at the college reunion.

anyway, yeah - i also liked it a lot when they got Ned back and their relationship recovered. it was really sad to see them both in pain and not able to communicate. regarding last seasons final: isn't it remarkable how their roles changed? when they took Ned away, Gillian was the one searching for a selfhelp-group and talking to people on the net. when they found out their baby might be disabled it was Peter who went to a selfhelp-group-meeting.

my favourite scene was also in s4 when Gillian told Peter how she knew from the moment they met that they'd get married. and that she never thought he was boring. it brought tears to my eyes and i seldomly cry over sth. on TV.

potato, potatoe.

Man there are so many great scene I like from them I can't just name one... I did love the part when she first found out she was pregnante and how she told Peter at the dinner table.

And I can't remember what lead to it but there was this one scene when Peter was building a rocket and they set it off at some contest in the end of the episode and she was by him and Amy was there too, but she was SO PROUD of him... I know she really supported him in it and it was a major thing for him so seeing them together at the end was awesome!

OH and I loved that part when they adopted Ned... and when they first found out his was black well half black.

so hi anna!

i think gillian often is like -- totally hyper. it really takes a calm and considerated man like peter to stay with her.

i remember the rocket-thing. that was something i intended to bring up next: she's always supportive AND she's also always protective - amy and vincent would have made fun about peter's passion on some of his leisure activities but gillian was always there to tell them to pull themselves together since she knows about his concern not to be so cool and relaxed as his siblings.

Yeah, but sometimes they change roles, but it mostly her being hyper and him being the calm one.

and being supportive, between these two... they can give lessons.

I think the only time Peter was lacking in his support was when he thought something was wrong with the baby and Gillian was so sure that everything will be perfect... but even in that time he tried real hard to be supportive to her.

honestly - i don't know if i can blame him for that. he was desperate while she was hanging on to this feeling which might as well could have been a delusion. i can totally understand that he was felt like she was just repressed the possibility and since he couldn't talk to her about it, he at least wanted to be prepared for worst case scenario. i don't know if that's a lack of support since it would have been of gillian's benefit as well if that case had occured.

Yeah he did try real hard to be supportive of her feeling, but not voicing his... but then he did go behind her back to attend a support group, I kind of thought he should have been more open about his needs. By going behind her back he kind of made things a little harder.

that's true though i sympathise with his decision - you know how easily one can freak gillian out and he thought it might be better not to upset her especially since the possibilities (as i understood it) where high that something could happen to the baby while giving birth - isn't that why she got a C-Section?

he didn't want it to come out until after the baby was born... but - as we say here - the devil is a squirrel. meaning when you really want to hide something, fate leads the other person and shows what shouldn't have been revealed.

Yeah Peter was right to be worried cause something did happen to Gillian while giving birth, which is why she ended up in a coma.

and your right Peter may have thought he was doing the right thing by keeping his feelings from Gillian. He may also have thought it would have been dangerouse for her if his fears started to grow in her.

She was in the coma for about 6-8 months, and yeah Peter did take the baby, home before she woke up.

They had a hard time trying to figure out what to do with Gillian cause the place she was wasn't designed for long-term stay... but she woke up so they didn't have to deal with that.

Hmm, I can't remember what the baby's name is or how they picked it... I think he was named after Peter's dad... but I'm not sure.

so i read that after last night's episode there's trouble for the perfect couple. did that rhyme?
anyway, what does everybody thing about the story-line? do you think it'll work out for them next year?

personally i find it hard to believe that a possible break-up should be more than just temporary.

ahh... maybe?

I just saw last night's episode... and I can't believe it.

There's no reason behind it, Peter is trying so hard, and Gillian... I don't know, I just don't get it.

I hope they work it out, but it's hard to say what the problem is... whether or not is workable cause I don't know why Gillian might not love Peter any more.

It's not like he ignores her, is a workaholic, doen't love the kids, maybe a little insensitive to her needs at frist but once he knows what they are he does what he believes is right.

Man I hope the produces don't break them up just cause they think having a loyal couple on a show is boring, cause IT'S NOT.

HEY YOU IN POWER, LEAVE PETER AND GILLIAN ALONE!

Yeah, that whole scene kind of confused me too. I can't see them splitting up, but maybe, you never know. They just seem like they fit well together for some reason or another. And they just had a baby, so that would not be cool if they split.

so do you think Gillian suffers from postnatal depression which goes maybe more deeply because of the coma experience?

so, anyone wants to share new or old thoughts on their break-up-situation? do you think it'll be solved by the end of the season?
