Thanks for the thread! :flowers:
Fantastic season opener. I totally saw Phoebe's attraction to being a Mermaid. A way to finally live in peace, but of course it wouldn't be that simple. Happily Ever After was a fun episode, loved seeing Grams again and it was nice to see Paige meet her. Loved the twisted fairy tales, particularly Phoebe as 'Cinderella', but what was up with that dress that she was changed into when she put on the glass slippers?! I just watched Siren Song tonight, loved this one. Piper and Leo definitely needed to walk a mile in each other's shoes and learn what it's like with each of their powers. Piper's reaction when she spoke French was so funny. So much has happened between Phoebe and Cole these past few episodes. Phoebe, having worked hard to get her life back together and get over Cole for him to then turn up from the dead world, I could understand why she would hate him and be scared of him. He seems to have more powers than ever now, but he tried to convince her that he is using them for good. I could definitely see his good intentions in Siren Song and really felt bad for him. I'm glad at least they seem to have a mutual understanding between each other now, despite them obviously not getting back together. |
Yeah, the opener of the season was really cool.
Yeah about Phoebe and Cole..how do you feel about it? |
Well, I think it's so sad how much they had to endure together. It wasn't Cole's fault that The Source took over his body in season 4, but then, like Phoebe has said, even though however much he tries to be good and use his powers for good things, evil will always be a part of him. They pretty much always had a rather tense relationship, yet very passionate, you could see just how much they really loved each other. And I soon began to love their chemistry together. But things were always getting in the way, and it's sad how they only had a short time where they could actually be happy together once Phoebe had used the potion to rid his Belthazor side and his powers. I can understand Phoebe's need to move on from Cole after all that has happened, but I hope they can at least remain somewhat friends. :sigh:

On my part I was very upset. I think Phoebe's mourning period passed way to fast considering she herself expressed losing the true love of her life and "the child".. I got the impression in The 2nd ep of the double episode that there was hope for them. She still loved him so much and they looked in each others eyes and there was so much angst and love. Then the Siren episode were everyone treated him like the villain not the victim that he became :bawl:
There is this beautiful art someone made that I'd like to share which feel like it represented a lot of the love that could be seen between them in the early episode of the 5th season. http://30.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lj...ntc6o1_500.gif It's from the OP in the Shimmers thread :) |
Yeah, I agree, she is moving on perhaps a little too fast, especially since he is the love of her life. :( But I guess it's her way of not having to endure any more pain of such a loss if she moves on from him. I thought there was hope in the 2nd part of the double episode too, you could definitely see their love for one another was strong as ever. :sigh: I hated how Cole was treated like the villain too, it certainly wasn't his fault when the Siren took control. :(
Aww love the gif. |
Yes it's soooo good

Loved Witches in Tights that was a fun episode. I loved how their masks clouded their judgement when using their superpowers. This episode felt very Smallville-esc. :D Cole was trying ever so hard not to use his powers at all, but when the sister's secret was in danger of being exposed once again, it seemed like he felt he had no choice but to destroy the landlord...I still feel so bad for him. He has tried so hard to be good.
The Eyes Have It was also a cool episode, I'm glad they explained why Phoebe hadn't had any premonitions in a while and it makes sense. What was most interesting, and extremely coincidental to me was that Emmanuelle Vaugier played Dr Ava Nicolae and Dr Helen Bryce in Smallville at around the same time (granted, she was in Smallville for a few more episodes). Would have been nice to have Ava in a few more episodes, especially since she becomes Piper's new doctor. The eyes thing was really creepy. |
Yeah too bad but I think he did it in their best interest :) and in a way they should be thankful.
I would also have enjoyed it if that story arc had evolved more since their families seemed to have a lot in common and things to learn from each other. I also recognize the actress from other series. |
Yeah, totally, they should be thankful. Case in point in Sympathy for the Demon, he accepts his powers back in order to vanquish Barbas. Just as he had another chance to live free from being evil...the fact that he sacrificed that chance in order to save the sisters just showed the good he had in his heart. :( Had no idea Piper was afraid of spiders, I could totally relate. I squirmed when those spiders showed up.
|
Yes, I feel like there are so many good deeds that he does but still the sisters kinda discard them and well bad things happen because of it...
Haha, it was good to know the "new" fears. I was very surprised about Phoebe's being evil thing. |
Yeah, and now Cole has completely lost it in Y Tu Mummy Tambien. At first, his obsession in trying to kill himself seemed selfless, he really didn't want to hurt anyone else and he wanted to end his own suffering. But of course, it seems he is indestructible and even the powerful potion that the sisters threw at him in Sam, I Am didn't work. And because of that obsession, he's become more evil than I think he realises. His plan to try to have Phoebe back this time was very low. Making Piper chose between Phoebe and Paige was even lower. Piper sure kicked ass in that episode.
Loved Sam I Am with Paige's biological father, good to see they have reunited. |
Yes, those are the eps that he has landed to far out on the ledge to ever go back. It's quite impressing that there can be a magical being that is indestructible though. Cause Piper's powers are temporary but Cole's are permanent...
Well,Piper was really smart and dubble-crossed Cole there and shuh that was good because I really though it was the end of the line there :look: |
She was really smart to double cross him like that.
Watched The Importance of Being Phoebe last night. So Cole has definitely turned to evil now. It's sad, really. :( I hate how it's turned full circle and pretty much back to where it all started, except that he is even more powerful now than when he was Belthazor. Phoebe was devastated when they vanquished Cole when the Source possessed him, so what really changed? It wasn't his fault. When she decided to move on and focus on her career that shouldn't have meant she didn't still love him. So he came back with stronger powers, he tried ever so hard to use them for good, but she kept pushing him away. I can understand that with him being stronger and having been a demon before she wasn't sure what to do or feel other than to stay away from him. But if she had just a little more faith in him, perhaps he wouldn't have succumbed to evil and become so obsessed with getting her back. Ugh, either way, I hate how the writers have destroyed that relationship. Anyway, it was a good ep, just a bit frustrating at the same time. :sigh: |
