"Once In A Blue Moon" Episode Discussion (Oct. 17th)
http://www.thewb.com/Shows/Episode/0...||2064,00.html
charmed: Once in a Blue Moon Fresh | sunday | 8/7c The Elders' suspicion of Leo (Brian Krause) causes them to assign a new Whitelighter (guest-star TJ Thyne) to the girls. However, when the new Whitelighter is nearly killed by beasts, the Elders blame the attack on Leo. Trying to prove Leo's innocence, Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Paige (Rose McGowan) discover that the beasts are actually The Charmed Ones' themselves, transformed by a blue moon. Meanwhile, Agent Brody (guest-star Kerr Smith) learns Paige's secret and informs her of a powerful new threat, and Phoebe and Leslie (guest-star Nick Lachey) discuss their feelings before saying goodbye. John Kretchmer directed the episode written by Erica Messer & Debra J. Fisher. __________________

This has been the worst episode so far EVER in the history of the show.
The writers/producers shrugged of the part of the sister turning into Beasts which was dumb. Alyssa's wardrobe leaves something to be deisired. Her purple top left something to be desired. Especially when she was running down the street. Doesn't she have any say in what she wears? I'm guessing she didn't look at that particular scene when she was in Producer mode other wise she would have taken it out! |

If I was a Charmed One, I'd be trying to figure out why this happened in the first place.
As for the Avatars... I assume they can only kill the weak right now, probably couldn't harm the invincible Cole back in Season 5, which is probably why they wanted him... for power. __________________

WTF?
Do the writers not bother to look up anything? 1. The term "blue moon" has absolutely nothing to do with the colour of the moon. 2. It is impossible to have a blue moon in the middle of the month. The only way it is possible to have a blue moon in any month is if it occurs on the 29th, 30th or 31st. Why? Because a "blue moon" is when there is a second full moon in the same month. Since the cycle of the moon takes 28 days, the only way you can get a second one within the same month is if the first one occurs within the first two or three days, and the month has enough days to allow the moon to complete its cycle. 3. There is no possible way to have a "second blue moon of the year" in October. Since you can only have a full moon every 28 days, the only way you can have a second blue moon in one year is if the first occurs in January, so the second can occur in December. And even then, there is only a 3 or four day window to allow this to happen. (There are generally only 13 full moons within a single year, but occasionally there can be fourteen, hence the second blue moon in a single year.) 4. The moon does not rise at midnight and fly from the horizon to the middle of the sky within seconds. Also, the "special effects" that were used for the werewolves... Where did they find those? In a cereal box? The effects used for the wendigo back when Prue was still around were much better. Why didn't they stick with those? Or bring in someone who could create realistic beasts. Was it just me, or was anyone else thinking of Superman 2 when the three disembodied heads appeared in human form? If they had appeared when a mirror shattered, I would have screamed! Three "super" villains all in black. Two males, one female. Coincidence? According to the show, there is no such thing... Leslie is leaving. Well, good riddance, I say. I don't see where the character added much to the show. I have nothing against Nick Lachey. It is Leslie that I don't like. Why was he there again? Oh, yeah. Phoebe hadn't had sex since her last co-worker left... Agent Brody is becoming more interesting. I don't know how I feel about his implied relationship with Paige, but I am liking his character more and more. It is good to know that they didn't bring him in to be the bad guy. (at least, not at the moment anyway.) I think it is good that they brought in a character that knows about witches and has the power and evidence to expose them, but doesn't. (Darryl doesn't count, because he got to know them as people before he discovered that they were witches. It makes a difference.) As for Piper and Leo... It has gone on way too long. Either put the two of them back together, or end their relationship for good. This see-saw relationship is just annoying. There is no reason for Leo to no longer be around. No one is in any more danger now than they are on any other day, in any other situation. __________________

Er... ok...so blue moons dont exist but so does magic... you cant just say that, so maybe this moon doesnt exist in real life but it does in Charmed, like witches, like demons... maybe witches and demons are the only people who can see the moon actually blue when normal human wouldnt...maybe we shouldnt wonder about that coz its so geeky
I loved that epi, so far the best of this new season... because first, I love the return to the sisterhood thingy, those little details back in the old seasons that were totally absent since some times... I dont know I just felt like back then. One of their problem in that epi being their PMSs Its so funny coz in my house we all have it the same week too TMI? Okay, then for those beasts, so what it wasnt explained, they brushed it off pretty quickly which is really normal... Those beasts thing was just a funny little side story having nothing to do with the current plot! It was a satiric way to describe women being horrible animals devoring men during their PMS, I think it was a really funny image... The plot being that we know who is the higher power... I found extremely smart that the writers instead of going deeper into their *****ty scripts and throwing to us all those fairy tales stupid to no end decided to finally take back one of the unsolved mystery from the seasons before... this higher power that was interested into Cole... Finally a plot that will be achieved, I think its great that the writers try to get up from the oh so bad season 5!! This season seems to be better and seem to be trying to fix some of the former bull*****s... And finally this Leslie is gone!! __________________

I wasn't very thrilled with this episode. I'm still confused as to why the sisters turned into werewolves. I mean I know they said it was the blue moon, but I think it deserved a bit more looking into than they gave it. Glad to see Nick/Leslie is going. I wasn't feeling him in this role, not that I'm a huge fan to begin with. I've missed alot of episodes between the time Piper gave birth to the first baby and now. So, I really don't understand the whole baby/Leo/Piper thing enough to comment on it. But, I totally agree with whoever it was that said that Phoeobe needs to rethink some of her clothing choices. I don't see how she acts without her breasts flopping out. I mean a little cleavage is one thing but, her stuff goes way past that.

On blue moons and other strange lunar appearances:

So what does a blue moon have to do with lycanthropy (magical ability to assume form and characteristics of a wolf), and the menstral cycle? |

I liked this episode. One of my favorites out of the season. I guess I just think the whole idea of them turning into werewolves was cool, and interesting. I agree though, they could of done more research into why they turned in the first place.

No, I really don't remember them saying anything at all. Wasn't that the episode where Piper saw the flying head and realized that Leo wasnt going crazy after all? I think it was, and they mostly concentrated on that rather than the werewolf side of it.
