charmed: Extreme Makeover: World Edition

Fresh | sunday | 8/7c

While the Avatars prepare to transform the world into a Utopia, they inform the Charmed Ones that the human world must be put to sleep so that they can kill any remaining demons. Brody (guest star Kerr Smith), doubting the Avatars good intentions, calls the Elders for help but is instead kidnapped by Zankou (guest star Oded Fehr) and agrees to help Zankou stop the change by placing a paranoia spell on Piper (Holly Marie Combs), Phoebe (Alyssa Milano) and Paige (Rose McGowan). During the Utopian transformation, Brody uses Paige's paranoia to attract and kill an Avatar. However, Brody pays a high price for his actions.

Brian Krause also stars. LeVar Burton directed the episode written by Cameron Litvack.

Wow. That was great.

Paranoi - pretty funny scenes
Zankou - I can't believe he found the demons who killed Brody's parents
Brody - No! I'm shocked. His death was sooo sad.
Avatars - wow. great writing for the Utopia. I'm sad they killed that one avatar.. she was neat.
Next week - Nothing can go well for them.

Charmed is getting much better.

I, for one, am so glad Brody is dead. He was so obnoxious and annoying and wish he'd died a much more painful death.

And poor Beta. Didn't Paige feel bad she'd lured her to her death? And she seemed nice, unlike the creepy other avatar.

I still don't trust the avatars, and why was tonight's episode a to be continued? Most to be continued's end with something shocking or a cliffhanger... it didn't seem like there was any reason for one tonight.

I guess something shocking will happen then. It's way too peaceful right now.

I'm terrible I didn't care about Brody being dead I felt more for Beta who he killed. Paige sure didn't care that she led Beta to her death by allowing her boyfriend to kill her. All Paige cared about was Brody she didn't even seemed that shocked that Brody killed the Avatar.

Plus I suspect that somehow everything will get reversed and Brody will end up alive again.

Leo should have also got a clue about the Avatars when the head guy said that anything that threatened the harmony of Utopia could not be allowed.

While I simply adore Kerr Smith, I found the character of Brody obnoxious and annoying as well. how long did Paige date Brody? I hope she do not grieve for him long.

“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” was probably the best episode that I’ve seen this season. In fact, it came close to being the only truly good episode of Season 7. And it was all due to the storyline surrounding Kyle Brody’s alliance with Zankou, against the Avatars, Kerr Smith and Oded Fehr’s first-rate performances, and LeVar Burton’s directing. In fact, not even the shabby performances by Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and Brian Krause could mess up this episode. Rose McGowan did okay – especially in the scene that featured Paige mourning over the dead Kyle.

From what I’ve seen of this episode, the Halliwells and Leo had decided to help the Avatars change the world into the “Land of Pod People”, because they were tired of fighting demons after six years. Hmmm. This has led me to conclude that the Charmed Ones have regressed to a trio of selfish idiots. Brad Kern and his writers have really done a number on their characters. The sisters are now bona fide MORONS. And the performances by the three lead characters (except for Rose’s brief acting moment in the sun) have not helped.

Did I mourn Beta's death? Nope. Considering what she and the Avatars were trying to do to humanity, I didn't give a rat's ass about her. However, I will miss Kyle Brody. He made Season 7 interesting.

Despite the fact that I found this episode impressive, I still believe that it is time to cancel this show.

I know how you feel. Beta's death was so sad. I couldn't believe it. The way they showed it in slow motion.

That probably will happen. I'm sure Zankou will do some damage to all of them. He's really powerful.

Yes, I remember that too. They seemed evil at that time. Didn't Cole become one of them? Or he tried?
With demons gone, the Avatars could rule everything.. with only the Elders and The Charmed Ones in their way.

That is why they want Leo to deliver the Elders to them so they absorb all their powers leaving the Elders defenseless and them more powerful. They are trying to convince Leo they need the Elders' powers to continue to make the World into Utopia and fight against the damage that Zankou did.

I really don't care if I see Brody again or not. I don't like him I liked Paige's other boyfriend the Warlock. I liked watching someone with almost as much power as the Charmed Ones. Plus it was cool to see a man know more than the Charmed Ones about potions.

I get tired of seeing all the guys that the girls like are either Demons or need thier protection, even Leo is like that. Even though it's nice to see Leo able to fight and have his own active power where before his powers were mainly passive.

That makes sense. Maybe it will happen soon. If these ancient greek gods can nearly destroy the Elders, the Avatars could easily overpower them.

It was an OK episode, IMO. But that was because I had a bit higher expectation for this one than the previous three just from knowing of the premise. I did enjoy the special effects displayed from the scene depicting the cities being "charmed" by the spell.

I wonder why the Elders did not send anybody else to try to stop the Avatars? I would think that once Zankou told him about Leo's new identity that they'd try to send somebody from their side to deal with the situation, being that Zankou represents the evil side and him stopping the Avatars would have tipped the scales more towards evil. Either they think (or that's more the writers) that Zankou is less evil than the Avatars so they won't bother interfering or they leave it (again) up to the Halliwells to fix it for them. Not that I blame them if it's the second option, being that the Halliwells are partly responsible for the spell. Still, I would think that if their hold on their specific realm is threatened that they wouldn't just sit back. Wait...that's been their plan for every second crisis all along.

As I suspected, nothing is what you might think of before, including Utopia. Yeah, I want to live in a world where people can annoy you all you want and you can't feel mad about it. LOL

I think the Elders did try to do something when they tried to "kill or incapacitate" Leo but Leo was too strong for them being an Avatar. Plus the Elders are usually basically about Free Will and basically have Passive Powers. They also usually react to events rather than trying to manipulate them. While the Demons are usually aggressive and try to change things for their own ends.
