Actually, we have reached the milestone about a month or less back. It has been a long time coming. I thought I would open this thread to make a note of how far we have come in the last nine years.

I remember coming to this board around that time. Back then, I was just another fan who use this board to post news, updates and provide some commentary on episodes. Nine years later, I am here opening this thread to celebrate passing the 50,000-post milestone.

We should dedicate this thread for the longevity and survivability of the Charmed board against many, many odds. It is for you, the Charmed fans who help keep our own little corner at Fan Forum alive. Give your thoughts on this and what you would like to see for the next 50,000 posts.

I will leave this thread stickied for a week starting tonight.

ETA: We're changing this thread into a general Charmed board post count thread. From time to time, one of the Charmed mods will change the title to reflect the situation.

Three months ago, we passed the 50,000-post mark, which was long in coming. After further discussion, the Charmed mods agreed to have a weekly post count in hopes of encouraging people, both long-time Fan Forum posters and lurkers to post at their favorite Charmed board threads.

As we are big Charmed fans, we would be very sad to see this board go and all the hard work that the mods have put into this would be in vain. In January, the mods were informed that the board had failed to reach the 15 posts/day minimum in order to continue as a board at Fan Forum. We need to basically to reach the 15 posts/day minimum or surpass it for each of the months of the rest of the year in order to keep this board running the next year.

So to help reach that goals, it is important for Charmed fans to get active and participate in the threads. If you feel that there isn't a thread related to the show ongoing that you want to start, feel free to do so. There is a Charmed Board Guide thread at the top of the board to help you out.

Now to the weekly post count. The way it is going to be done is that I'll start with a number, which is the current total posts the Charmed board has as to this writing. After next Friday, one of the mods would give the number of posts that were made during the week. This is to encourage people to participate in the board and is not intended to obligate anyone to post anything just to get to a number. We want to maintain the discussion in a fun way, as it is about a fun, little show to begin with.

So without further do, let's start.

Current # of posts as of this writing (total posts): 52,220

The weekly post # would be the difference between the number of total posts on the following Friday and the number above this sentence. Either me or one of the other Fan Forum moderators would post the weekly number on the Friday of next week and every week after.

P.P.S.: To further encourage discussion and activity at the Charmed board, I'm going to set a year's-end goal of 60,000 posts. This is not to mean that the board would fail if we don't reach that number by the end of December. As long as we reach or surpass the 15 posts/day minimum Fan Forum rule to keep the board going, we'll be OK. However, I think it would be extra motivation for us Charmed fans to keep the post count in mind. At the least, 60,000 does not seem to be a hard number to reach and we have 7 months to do it. If that number is reached well before year's end, then that'd be encouragement for further goals down the road.

Congrats Long time coming for this board. I just recently became a regular poster here (I posted on and off once and awhile, but I didn't want to post regularly until I finished the series for the first time).

I hope this board continues to grow and continue for a long time to come. It's a wonderful show that deserves to have a board to celebrate it.

I was so happy to be a moderator and I think that although the show is over we still managed to keep the board alive and new fans keep droping by

Wow, 50,000! Congrats!

Been posting here only for about 2 years and it's great! I hope this board will have a lot more fans coming in the future and seeing the wonders of Charmed, even though it had been over for quite a while.

Well, let me give you all some encouraging news. The Charmed board has recorded the best month in terms of posting activity in the year so far. I won't give you the exact number but let's say we've moved up a bunch of places in the list of boards that are subject to the post count rule (the majority of boards here at Fan Forum).

So to everyone who have come and participated. Let's keep this going.

We've just got the results for the month of May. For the second month, we averaged above 20 posts per day. That is an encouraging sign. It means that our efforts at getting more participation at this board appear to be paying off. Of course, we would like to see more participation, so that we won't slide too far to the bad number of under 15 posts/day.

Yeah, the posts for the week will be known on Friday.

Not bad for this month. I saw the post total and it was 717 for the entire month.
