They need to switch it up and make it an actual reboot if they want to go with it. A remake will not be taken kindly. It's not like they're remaking a movie. It's a tv show.

There's no excuse for a remake, imo. They want it to be female centred? Piper, Phoebe and Paige had six daughters between them, they had plenty of female ancestors and would have plenty of female descendants. If they want to call it a reboot they have to connect it to the original family in a meaningful way, tbh.
