Save American Dreams / Fan Convention

I decided to make a save our show thread do to the fact that we never know whats going on with the show. Is it being canceled will there be a 4th season. I know EVERYONE I talk to has felt in thier heart a true love for the show. In my prayers last night I meantioned to God (oh by the way i'm Catholic lol) how this show has brought me closer to him and so much happier. I truely feel 'magic' when I watch the show. I may be the only one who feels this deeply but everytime I think about the show I know how special we are to have made it this far.
I had a yahoo group for a fan convention. Due to lack of interest I decided I needed more 'help' with it first.

How about we make some ideas on saving the show. I'm going to make a shirt that has american dreams pictures on it and its going to say something like Are you dreaming??
and on the back it will say I know I am All the time
and then American Dreams NBC 8/7 central. I know its silly but hey it will get people looking.

Also Rachel (aka beth) said NBC isn't recieving snail mail so Our best bet is to just keep contacting NBC in any way shape or form.

As for the convention. Does anyone still just want to get together somewhere with or without cast members and have fun chatting it up and having fun dancing?

I think it would be good promotion and just fun to celebrate the awesomest show on the planet.

Keep me posted.

President of the soon to be save american dreams convention and your fellow AD board MOD.
Mandy
p.s. another good idea for the shirt I had a dream speach thing

For some ideas you might want to check out what Farscape fans have been doing at www.watchfarscape.com to get some ideas. Scapers have managed to get SciFi to produce a miniseries that will air in a couple of weeks and, which, if it does well, might lead to more. AD fans might find some of the experience the Scapers have had to be helpful.

Does anyone have the NBC address to which we can write letters? I would gladly write some letters stating my love for the show.

LivingInTheOCsucks why is it a bummer I live in Wisconsin? If we have a convention (which I think we should) we would have a mutural place to meet

I live in Canada but hey I'll see if I can e-mail NBC. I LOVE this show. I'm not religous at all but hey I'm all for this all American/Catholic family. Jack was brought up Catholic but he's not too much into going to Church unless there's a special reason. Christmas Mass, J.J. gone missing etc...

Let's hear it for American Dreams "Cause we just wanna dance all night, live inside the spark of light".

That's not true... they are accepting postcards, I checked with the NBC mailrooms. They are only not accepting letters in envelopes.

Here are the addresses of the two NBC presidents:

Jeff Zucker
President, NBC Universal Television
30 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, NY
10112

Kevin Reilly
President, NBC Entertainment
3000 West Alameda Ave.
Burbank, CA

Vote for American Dreams - an amazing publicity opportunity

This is from "Watch With Kristin" on E! Online. If American Dreams received the most votes, it would be an incredible publicity opportunity for our show! (Read the part in bold to see what I mean.) All you have to do is email:

tvdiva@eonline.com

Put "American Dreams" in the subject line.

That's it. That's all you have to do. PLEASE DO IT! Thanks.

E! Online, "Watch With Kristin"

I'm also a sucker for saving the shows I love.

And while there have been some amazing success stories this season (Lost, Desperate Housewives), we must not forget those little shows that are just as deserving of mainstream props but haven't yet, well, arrived.

Which is why, ladies and gentletubers, we are kicking off our first annual...drumroll, please...Watch It, Already! Awards. Our mission? To inspire the world (or at least, the sorry souls who follow this column) to start watching the quality TV series they've been missing. Specifically, we'll pinpoint the one very best series that people aren't watching and spread the word in an effort to save it from the impending cancellation doom.

Now, because this column has always been about give and take, naturally, I want your input. So, please, take a second to email me with the one low-rated series you love best--using the name of that show as your subject line. The following are a few possible candidates, based on the support emails that many of you have already sent in, but you can pick any low-rated show you like.

American Dreams, NBC
Arrested Development, Fox
Jack & Bobby, WB
Life As We Know It, ABC
The Fountain, WB
Scrubs, NBC
Veronica Mars, UPN

The winning show of this year's Watch It, Already! Award receives an E! Online column touting its greatness, a segment hosted by moi on E! News Live, and a bunch of fancy little trophies that we'll send to the show runner(s) and stars.

As far as what I have heard from the production office, they fully expect to be picked up for a fourth season. The president of NBC, Jeff Zucker, really likes the show, and he is always supportive.

I wouldn't have started the fan club if I had any indication that the show wouldn't be renewed.
