| Ha. It's awful, but I now dub Mariah's "It's like that" as the Wentworth song. Despite that I actually enjoy his appearance more in the other video. Must be that half smile smirk he does... ![]() Quote:
![]() Oh, and to answer your question, if you were on crack, I'm right along there with you upon checking out this link: Fox.com/Prison Break And this one. Granted its source is the National Enquirer... it at least has a pic of Wentworth ![]() Oh, and one more link that talks a bit more about the Fox series. Which means as a fan I'm at odds. One, if Prison Break is good, it's probably doomed because it's on the Fox network. Yeah, not a big fan of the network *cough*TitusWonderfallsDarkAngel*cough* Though, if Prison Break stays and JoA comes back next season, is there a chance we might lose Wentworth? ![]() Quote:
My thoughts? If Ryan is another connection quite like Joan, and God is the almighty, all knowing one past-present-future... would he not know Ryan's eventual "fallen angel" like qualities? To me, I believe the answer is Yes, He does know. And I think that it just might be the reason afterall. Okay, I guess I should put it this way... God choose Ryan, probably with the belief and intention that Ryan is a very worthy instrument. God firmly believes in Ryan's potential, much like He-She-It believes in Joan's. That there are amazing qualities about Ryan, much like the qualities Joan herself attained through genetics and life experience. Right? So if God is all-knowing, then God also knew that Ryan would eventually use free will and turn against him. He knew this would happen. In the past, God already knew Ryan's future. Now, to me it doesn't sound as bad as you would think. Past - God taps Ryan and Ryan (like Joan) is a worthy faithful instrument. Present - God still taps into Ryan and Ryan says "No" and makes "different" choices than that as say someone else, like Joan today, would make. Those ripples aren't as "good" as Joan's might have been. Following? That's today. Future - What now? We don't know... but there is a being that does know. God. My guess? God knew the path that Ryan would take. God also knows Ryan's fate were he to continue such path. Long story short: I have a feeling that God knows both end results. The paths towards the good future and the bad future. Kind of like what had happened with Steve Ramsey had Joan not been there, been present. Remember? What did and what could have happened? And maybe that's where Joan comes in. To not only have her realize what could happen to herself were she to follow in Ryan's footsteps, but also maybe to bring Ryan onto a path of redemption (the good future path). Or at least to try and bring him back. Again, kind of like what had happened to Ramsey. However free will still reigns and there's a chance that Ryan could continue down the path to darkness (bad future path). To Joan herself this seems like a win-win situation. Ryan will only win if he manages to lead Joan astray. To prove to Joan that "Hey, the world didn't end now just because you said 'No' to Him. It's not so bad, now is it?" That is the only way Joan will lose. But if she stands firm, if she tries to help Ryan, she will either win him back or lose him. If Ryan remains on the other side, then it's his lost because it all comes down to two facts: One, Joan isn't where Ryan stands. And two, Joan tried. In the end, we applaud her efforts because at least she tried. And that's my opinion on the matter. Agree, disagree, discuss... in the end, we still appreciate (and most of us will drool over) Wentworth/Ryan.Damn. If evil was that seductive... I just might join Ryan's army. Might... ![]() __________________ "Don't you miss me a little?" "No... please go." "Do you miss yourself? Because I do." Joan of Arcadia Thank you for the ripples. | I first noticed him in "The Human Stain". I love his work and I just hope his new show does well because he's a great actor who deserves a good new gig. And I totally loved him on Joan.

| I watched it, just because he was in it. I didn't really like it that much. Too contrived. I did like his character though, even though I just kept seeing Ryan for the first 45 minutes or so. And his cell mate makes me laugh. Did you notice that his lawyer looks and sounds almost identical to Sprague Grayden? That was weird. I'm still gonna keep watching, because I did like the second hour more than the first. So I'm hoping it continues to improve. I really hope they go deeper into the whole conspiracy thing. I'm a sucker for a good conspiracy. __________________ What I dream of is an art of balance. "I'm just a simple anarchist trying to get through my day" - Grace ~ JoA | |||

Okay, time to be shallow. WM looks good with the full upper body tattoos. I'm not usually a fan of that many tattoos but man. __________________ What I dream of is an art of balance. "I'm just a simple anarchist trying to get through my day" - Grace ~ JoA

On "Joan of Arcadia": "I was attached [to `Prison Break'], [`Joan'] producers knew that when they cast me, but I got the impression they had other things on their mind when they cast me in that role. It's a real shame [`Joan' was canceled] because I think that show addressed certain issues that network TV doesn't usually address."

I first saw Wentworth Miller as Joan of Arcadia wrapped up its last season. They didn't know it was going to be their last season, so they set up a mysterious stranger, Ryan Hunter, who might or might not have been good or evil. But we were leaning toward evil. Miller played that part. A man with an unforgettable face -- handsome, yet so deep that even in repose it looks as if he knows more about pain than anyone should. The question is whether it's his own pain, or someone else's. That face won't be seen on Joan anymore, because CBS, in its finite wisdom, dropped a show with decent ratings because, apparently, it was bringing them the wrong demographic. Can't sell cars or records to families who watch shows about people who believe in God, apparently. But Wentworth Miller has landed on his feet. I confidently predict that he is now appearing as the lead in his last television series. Last, because after this, he will be in films. Steve McQueen, Robert Redford, Burt Lancaster -- there is a short but proud list of true movie stars that got their start on the small screen. The thing is, when Wentworth Miller is on the screen, it isn't small. The show is Prison Break, and it debuted on Fox on Monday night. You missed it? It runs again on Thursday. When I first heard the premise of the show, I laughed. Michael (played by Miller) robs a bank solely to get himself into the same prison where his brother Lincoln is on death row. He believes his brother is innocent, and he plans to get him out. Right. But the farther we got into the show, the more I bought into the premise. For one thing, Michael is a structural engineer and he worked in an office that, unbeknownst to anyone outside, had a complete set of blueprints of the prison. And I'm not going to say another thing about the plot. Except that it's unbelievably intricate -- but the writers (Paul Scheuring and Nick Santora) and the director (Brett Ratner, who directed the Rush Hour movies and will direct X-Men 3) have done a good job of making it look both plausible and extremely difficult. This is not a case where a guy makes a plan and everything works out. At the same time, it's obvious that this is not a prison movie. It starts in prison, but it has the kind of franchisability that The Fugitive had. Because once they make it out of prison -- and it's reasonable to suppose they will, though who will make it through the process alive is anyone's guess -- they still have to clear Lincoln's name. And, for that matter, Michael's, since Lincoln might have been set up, but Michael definitely robbed that bank. The supporting cast is amazing -- Stacy Keach plays the warden, for heaven's sake, and the prisoners we meet are fascinating, played by terrific actors. But just as 24 is Kiefer Sutherland's show, Prison Break belongs to Wentworth Miller. The Fox network was no doubt looking for something to create the same kind of fervor that 24 has aroused in its viewers -- and they have it here. And, unlike Joan of Arcadia, the viewers will be the right demographic (young, hip, brandable). Plus me.
