A lot of people tuned in just to see Wentworth...I doubt it was a million people but a bunch. Hopefully people will relize just how much it sucked and not tune back in next week.

I use to like Lost...then they killed off one of my main reasons for watching...so really what is the point of watching now? None.

I expected the first episode of GW to have fairly good ratings for a friday night because it was heavily advertised, people were curious and it did have some noteworthy guest stars like Balthazar Getty and Wentworth Miller (who is already known from a popular show "Prison Break"). There have also been some very favorable comments about GW on other sites and those posters really seemed to love the show and can't wait to see more of it. I thought it was a bit fluffy and predictable, but I do watch and read a lot of that kind of supernatural and mystery stuff so maybe I was expecting too much. Nothing in that episode surprised me but than again I only saw the first half hour. Maybe the second episode will be better and I'd be anxious to see if the ratings hold up over the next couple weeks.

I watched like 15 minutes of it ( just to see how it was) and that was all I needed to turn the channel to something else.

Its interesting reading about what you guys thought of GW. I'm in Australia, so I don't think it would make it this far

Consider yourself lucky then.

...our luck this show is going to catch on like wildfire and be huge.

Shhh! How darest thou speak such evils!

Actually, given the taste of the average American viewing audience and the amount of shows out there already that are complete and utter crap...I wouldn't be surprised.

My mom and I watched the pilot and the entire time we watched (yeah the whole episode) we talked about how boring it was, that they replaced JOA with this, that the opening looked like a cross between Dead Zone and The 4400, and that it in general really, really sucked.

Thanks!

I just looked it up at epguides and so far there seems to be 8 episodes so far.

Question, is Jennifer Love Hewitt still popular in the US? As she was here in Australia for time back in the mid '90s with Party of Five, I Know What You Did Last Summer etc and then it all went quiet after that.

To give you an idea of JLH's popularity, I'm 21 and had no idea who she was. Of course, that might also be my being so disaffected from pop culture.

LOL I remember JHL fame from the P05 days (man I miss that show) but yeah she's pretty much on the 'has been' list these days. she tried singing for awhile and I think had one song that went no where and now luckily we have her back on our screens (note the sarcasim)

Anybody in here apply for the mod spot? Apply! Apply! Apply! I want a new co-mod.

I forgot about the singing.

I should say she did ok with that here. Especially How to Deal. She also was on an Australian talk show called Rove and she loves Tim Tams (chocolate biscuit) and they gave her a huge basket full.

The only song I remember of hers was Barenaked (anybody wants a link to the video let me know...because Drew Fuller is in it. ) but I don't thinkshe came out with anything after that...if she did our radio didn't play it.

Couldn't resist: The Dead Like JLH, The Living Not So Much

If anyone here visits televisionwithoutpity.com, they have a special recap of the GW Pilot full of snarky goodness. Lots of puns relatings to ghosts and JLH's career and any combination thereof.

ETA: Someone wanna tell me how this is happening?

Quote:
"Ghost Whisperer" remained strong in its second week, scoring a 7.3/13 for CBS at 8 p.m. NBC's "Dateline" was second for the hour at 4.6/8, beating ABC's "Supernanny," 4.2/7. "Friday Night Smackdown!" put UPN in fourth, ahead of "The Bernie Mac Show," 2.6/5, and the season premiere of "Malcolm in the Middle," 2.4/4, on FOX. The WB was sixth with "What I Like About You" and "Twins."
