Sounds cool. Anyone who is as knowledge or in to a subject as Luke is with Science shows dedication and skills.

Haha, yeah I remember one time Michael posted on his blog something like, he's "found his Grace" in real life. So I thought that was awesome. I'm still on the lookout for a Luke, personally.

Yeah, I guess the idea is to get a Grace for your Luke to balance it out. 'Cos you know, Luke/Grace are the perfect relationship. Well, in my opinion.... But then again, I guess maybe this is a fictional show, lol. I tend to forget that little fact sometimes. My bad.

I so want a Luke. I love how they seem to care each other so much, despite how different they are. There are some writers who wrote about this well. (Yesterday I re-read VirtualThree again. It's just so damn good. Seriously) I'm going to stop here, this should be in L/G thread. But I really don't mind. I love discussing about them.

I have some updates for you guys. I finished reading Twilight and I'm going to start New Moon (the sequel). It's overrated. Not that great. It's just good for me.

Stephenie Meyer, the official site of the writer of Twilight, has updated her Twilight Movie blog. She posted a picture and mentioned our Mike!

***April 16, 2008***

I know everyone is anxious to hear some updates on the movie. I've been too crazy busy to do a lot of blogging about it, and then I've also been afraid of spoiling anything for those who want to be surprised. So I'll just tell you a few short, non-spoiler stories and give you one new picture:

Stephenie on the set

This is me with the humans—who don't get enough love—and director Catherine Hardwicke in the "Forks" high school cafeteria. I got to watch the filming of several key lunch scenes, and see how amazingly well the actors were portraying those human characters. Watching them be Mike and Eric and Jessica and Angela and Tyler made it feel strangely like it all might just be real—which was a crazy feeling. So the humans get two thumbs up from me. And Greg (Tyler) wants us all to know that Bella would definitely choose a guy with an awesome van over some vampire.

Funny story: on April first, I got to watch as they shot Bella's first scene in the hospital (after the above mentioned van careened into her) with Charlie (Billy Burke) and Carlisle (Peter Facinelli). Between takes, Peter came back to the monitors where I was hanging out with Nikki Reed (Rosalie), and producers Greg Mooradian and Gillian Bohrer. Nikki and I were talking about how Kellan Lutz (Emmett) kept eating during the Cullen's cafeteria scenes (Kellan is always hungry) and how the editors would have to cut around that. Greg asked the question many of you have asked: what happens to food eaten by a vampire? (He referenced the infamous bite of pizza Edward takes in the book.) I explained the icky truth—they eventually have to cough it back up. Peter was listening to all of this very quietly, and then he and I had the following conversation (I'm paraphrasing, because I don't have a vampire's perfect recall):

PETER: So vampires would never eat food, unless they are trying to fool humans? They would never eat at home?

ME: No, of course not.

PETER: Huh.

ME: Why do you ask?

PETER: Well...when we were filming one of the scenes in the Cullen house, Esme brought me a bowl of Raisin Bran. I was eating it through the whole scene. I don't think they could cut around it, because I was chewing through some of my lines... I guess that wouldn't make a ton of sense for Carlisle to do, though, would it?

ME: (slightly panicky) Er, no. It really wouldn't.

PETER: Oh, well.

ME:

PETER: And also, April Fool's.

(The part I can't covey here is how convincing he was. Peter is, after all, an excellent actor. He got Kristen/Bella at dinner, too, so I wasn't the only one.)

6 fun facts from the set:

1) While watching the playback from a very intense scene with Bella and Edward, the girl next to me literally slid right out of her chair—I think her bones melted. She also may have stopped breathing for a few seconds, too. I know I did.

2) Mike Welch can dance.

3) Hugging Kellan Lutz is the closest you can get to hugging a vampire; he is made of granite. (But please do not try to hug Kellan without his permission. Thank you.)

4) Portland is too cold. For anyone. But especially for Arizonans.

5) Jackson Rathbone can really play the guitar. Our taste in music is not exactly the same, but we found common ground with Radiohead's Creep, with which he then serenaded me.

6) As you might guess, I do a lot of internal swooning on the set. However, I have an excellent poker face.

To conclude, I would like to make a few comments about Rob and Kristen, who are the true heart of this movie. First, they are both amazing actors. Second, they are channeling Edward and Bella like nobody's business. Third, you might want to bring a paper bag to the movie, because their on-screen chemistry may cause hyperventilation. That is all.

And our Mike's updated his blog.

To: "All the fans of Twilight,"

I feel compelled to respond to a recent controversy...

In the beginning of my relationship with the "Twilight" community, I developed a phrase that has since become the topic of heated discussion. The term "twi-hard" was born out of a sense of dedication and commitment I strongly felt from the Twilight fans. The mere fact that the strength of the word is up for debate, in terms of how accurately it represents the "Twilight" community, I think, proves my point of how die-hard these fans really are. It is a term that's been interpreted in many different ways. Due to the "heated discussion" that is ongoing, I wanted to interject before a war broke out between "Twi-hards," "Twilghters," "Twilight Originals," and good ol' fashioned "Twilight fans."

Of course, no malice went into the creation of this word. I believe that it is important to awknowledge that some find it to be condescending, rude, insulting, crass, verging on pornographic, unpleasant sounding, or just plain weird. Others believe it paints the Twilight fandom as being "too obsessive," and they don't want to feel judged. There are groups that feel the term "Twilighters" was here first, and that I have no right to join this community and immediately shake things up. Still, others hear the word and cringe. Our good friend Nikki-Wa wants to puke at the prospect of being called a "Twi-hard."

Your criticisms are valid, but I can assure you, "Twi-hard" has always been a term of endearment. If the fans had overwhelmingly shot it down, I would have dropped it like Questlove drops a sick beat. However, because it has been embraced by so many of you, I feel it would be unfair to supporters of the term to stop using it. I hope I don't alienate or offend anyone, that's never my intention. But that's an unrealistic expectation in these delicate times of ours. And the truth is, not everyone likes "Twilighters!" Some feel that it doesn't capture the essence of a true Twilight fan. However, "Twilighters" did win the MTV contest, but "Twi-hards" finished a very strong second.. So where do we go from here? How do we move forward with as little bloodshed as possible?

You know what I believe? I believe in a world where twi-hards, twilighters, TOs, TwilightMoms, Bella-enthusiasts, Edwardheads, and label-less fans of the saga can stand side by side, saluting the same Twilight flag! I believe in free expression, and the right of every Twilight fan to call themselves whatever they feel best suits them. I see no need for a single, unifying term. ... Basically what I'm saying is, get out your brown paper bag Nikki-Wa, cause "Twi-hard" ain't goin' nowhere!

I love you my Twi-hards!! WOOOOO!!!

-Mike

P. S. Just to clarify, I do have a youtube account. I am known as MikeWelchActorFace. Have a nice day!
I do love him, he's awesome. He's busy, but he still find some time to update his blog to his fans.

I'm surprised that they seem to shoot it quickly. It's not been long since they got the cast. Now they've shot a bunch of scenes. (I watched a couple of video clips) In my opinion, they've shot more than 30-40% of the entire movie.

That's funny. 'Cos I know Mike tends to put "hard" on the end of his fan groups, lol. And I didn't take that in a pornographic way, but thanks for pointing that out. Mike.

Did not know he had a youtube account. Wonder if he'll be my friend, lol.

As always - he's an awesome little blogger.

You're making me want to read Virtual 3, Vee. I have a really short attention span and have been putting it off...maybe I should just give in a read it (and likely skip the non-g/l parts).

Me too! I didn't think that a bit. I watched a clip about Twilight, it's from MTV and they called the fans Twi-hards too.

Read Virtual Three, you won't regret. It's one of the best. It's so real. Skip all non-L/G parts you'd like. (If you'd like I recommend ep2, ep6, ep8, ep10 and ep11. Even though there are L/G scenes in all episodes. But those episodes will make you giddy. And yeah, I took note what all episodes are L/G about.

I got this from Stephenie Meyer's site.
What is Twilight? And is it the Next Harry Potter? and look at the IMDB screencap.

Look at our Mike! He's at 6. I squeaked when I saw it. (I'm still squeaking now. ) Twilight is really really popular.

And if you go to his IMDB page. Look at his STARmeter!!!

His STARmeter is raised 3,583%. Oh my god!!

You got to help me out, Vee, what does the starmeter column by the actors mean. Is the lower the number the better or what?

Okay, even I can tell that 3,583% increase is good. And seems mildly insane.

Thanks for all the updates, Vee.

Oh yes, I think it's some kind of popularity.

Quote:
What do the rankings mean?

Plain and simple, they represent what people are interested in, based not on small statistical samplings, but on the actual behavior of millions of IMDb users. Unlike the AFI 100 or Academy Awards, high rankings on STARmeter and MOVIEmeter do not necessarily mean that something is "good." They do mean that there is a high level of public awareness and/or interest in the title or person.

What are STARmeter & MOVIEmeter?
Twilight is going to be a boom. It's getting more and more popular everyday. (Anyway, there are only few people in my country know about this. We'll know how it's actually popular when the movie comes out.)

Well, we already know that Michael is brilliantly talented, so I guess this kind of thing was all we've been waiting for. I'm imagining the awesome Michael roles we're going to get after this. It might well help put him up there quite a bit as a young actor.

He's real talented. I really admire him. He's so cool.

I found this, from Twilight Lexicon ~ The Official Stephenie Meyer Fan Sponsored Information And Discussion Site (I have to visit Twilight fan sites very more often.) It's an interview from Mike. I'm so excited. It's been ages since he had the last interview.

Quote:
"Originally I auditioned for Edward. Ha! As soon as I read the description I knew it wasn’t for me. Although I appreciate my representatives thinking I could pull off, “hauntingly beautiful; the most unbelievably good looking creature the world has ever seen,” honestly, come on."

Read the rest here (I've saved them already. )
I was hoping we would see him give an interview in video form. That'd be cool.

P/S. I've got to see him in Remember The Daze. He played a drunk kid in the film. He got a few scenes. He played really really well. In my opinion the whole story was crap. It's just Mike that, I think, worth seeing. Will it be illegal if I post some captures here?

Wow, how'd you manage that? If it is illegal, you've got to email them to me anyway.

I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunity for a Mike Vid interview this Twilight thing is all over the place. It's crazy having new Mike stuff all the time. Crazy good.
