I just want more Kris! The time he has on the show is so short... very sad. I really like him on the show in his role... plus, he is *nice* to look at!

Oh... "nice to look at" is quite an understatement if you ask me...

FF ate my long post about Kris! I guess mainly b/c I was mostly commenting about how much I swooned hearing Kris's character Sam (from Ginger Snaps) say the "F" word

IA that this was one movie that I would have never watched... if it wasn't for the Kris-factor. *nods* Anyway, Ginger Snaps was okay.

My only favorite dialogue from that movie involved Sam and Ginger.

Ginger: (sees the hidden pot leaves) Wicked! Let's smoke some up!
Sam: (w/ cigarette in mouth) Yeah, wicked... (pushes her aside) Get the ****** out!

He was hot, smart, hot, snarky, hot... did I mention hot? Especially in that tank top! *debates on watching his scenes again*

Oh! I even had a JoA moment watching this movie, as weird as that is. This one scene, where Sam was trying to get Bridgette's attention at her school. He walked up from behind, glancing at the students, trying to keep a "low profile" yet trying to get Bridgette to turn around and talk to him. That was sooo Joan/CBG in the pilot, yo!

Is it too late to go back to just plain "stupid" about this actor instead of being completely retarded for him?

Unchallenged. *nods along w/ Nab* Merci, *I love you in French that I completely forgot how to say*, mahalo, aloha, thank you, I love you!

First all the Chris pics... now this...

If I marry Kris and we have a daughter, can I name her after you?

*stares at the screencaps* Ack, I really want to see "My Little Eye" now! Is it even available in the States? I don't know whether to hug & admire Kris or smack him for choosing to do indie films that I'll never see except on DVD!

Glad you like. And to answer your question, no My Little Eye is not available in the States. It was only released overseas. But I got ahold of a copy. Kris' part is huge, though. He does a great job.

If you want to read some reviews (for those who don't know much about the movie, they are very informative), click here. Kris isn't mentioned a whole lot, but it's good background info.

SweetI love you in French is J'aime tu or something. Forgive me, I'm only in college and have only studied French for 2 and a half years.

MelissaThanks for the link to the reviews. I'm sad that its not in the states, but at least he's working and working well.

Melissa! *adores* The screencaps are fabulous! I've been wanting to see this movie for a while now.

Sweetwater Gal (Iris?), I love that scene.

I guess I am odd for loving Ginger Snaps as much as I do, but oh well. What else is new? When I was eight or so, my favorite movie was Edward Scissorhands so that probably says a lot about me...

Hee! I like that. I'm mad stupid as well. Well, in this moment I'm mad stupid. If they showed him more on the show I'd be really mad stupid, because he rocks. And I forget how much I love him and then I see him again and it all comes back.

the butterflies.

the sighs.

Yeah, Kris is good stuff.

Melissa, thanks for the links. I've checked the UK branch of Amazon.com and they have both the DVD & VHS version of Little Eye. Now I know that my DVD player isn't compatible w/ their DVD region... but I wonder about the VHS? Anyone know the difference? I really want to see that movie! I mean, if I can handle Ginger Snaps (and believe me, I freak out easily to Child's Play & Night of the living dead movies), I can probably handle My Little Eye.

Nab, heh, merci! I took French in high school for two years... and I live in Hawaii so yeah... goes to show just how much I use it on a daily basis

azuline, you can call me Sweetwater Gal, or SWG or Sweet or Iris... I'll answer to either or Which scene? The "get the F out" one or Sam walking up from behind Bridgette? I like them both I guess for me, this movie was one of those "grows on you" movies. I didn't really get it until the second and third time I watched it. But, cha... yeah, if it wasn't for Kris, I wouldn't have given it a second thought.

DropsofJupiter, *nods* Kris is good stuff. Kris is mad good stuff... He is so bacon; yummy, hot, and so not good for you if consumed on a daily basis as tempting as it is!

Well, at the time I meant the Ginger/Sam "Wicked. Smoke us up." / "Yeah, wicked, huh? Get the **** out!" exchange, since apparently I didn't even register the fact that you commented on something else... but they are both good.

Ah, Sam. How I adore thee. So very sad that he won't be in the other two GS coming out.

Now I have the urge to watch something Kris related. Maybe I should dig out my tape of My Guide. Lucas is always fun.

You are welcome. But, don't feel bad. I'm from Louisiana and have some French and some Cajun in me and I took it for two years in high school and now am taking it in college, and I *still* can hardly speak it, write it, or understand it. So you have nothing to feel bad about.

azuline, heh, I watched GS again this morning... but just his scenes and makes me both happy and sad. Happy b/c, well, it's Kris... sad b/c I really want to watch his other performances besides his CGG, Decker, Emile, and Sam characters. Though I'm quickly lovin' Sam just b/c I love how he swears

Nab, at least you have some handle on French!

Anyone know if Emily of New Moon is coming to DVD? Again, willing to buy anything for certain actors. My Cusack collection is the ultimate proof of that!

ETA: Heh, b/c I couldn't help myself... got some random Kris stuff mainly on Ginger Snaps. Got it from:
ginger-snaps.com: Press Release

...It was September by the time Perkins and Isabelle were locked into the roles of Brigitte and Ginger. With production slated to start in three weeks, the search was still on to find the next two supporting leads, bad-boy botanist Sam and the girls’ mother, Pamela. ...

The producers initially wanted the character of Sam to be an American star. Asked for her thoughts on the role, Robin Cook immediately suggested Toronto-based Canadian Kris Lemche, a favorite of hers, for the role. After Lemche’s first audition, Fawcett knew he’d found Sam. ...

...Production started on October 25, 1999 and was completed six weeks and two days later on December 6. Locations were in the suburbs of Toronto – Etobicoke, Brampton and Scarborough all played as the "mind-numbing suburb of Bailey Downs".

"Brampton is my hometown and I’ve never shot there. I try never to go back there, even, so it was very surreal. Going back was very, very weird. A lot of the locations really reminded me of home. The whole shoot was very suburban, and I try to stay away from suburban." Kris Lemche on shooting on location ...

KRIS LEMCHE (Sam)

Kris Lemche is Sam, a bad-boy botanist who helps Brigitte find a cure for the infection overtaking Ginger. Although initially tough and aloof, Sam’s intelligence and vulnerabilities surface as he becomes more deeply involved with the Fitgerald sisters' plight.

This Gemini-Award-winning (Canada’s Emmy Awards) actor has amassed an impressive list of credits. Lemche was featured in the role of Noel Dichter in David Cronenberg’s EXISTENZ and appeared as Emile in the 1999 mini-series JOAN OF ARC. Lead roles include ST. JUDE and JOHNNY, two Canadian feature films. Coming out in 2000, Lemche can be seen in Lawrence Bender’s KNOCK AROUND GUYS. Television work includes a recurring role on TWITCH CITY and appearances on LA FEMME NIKITA, EMILY OF NEW MOON, EERIE, INDIANA: THE OTHER DIMENSION, GOOSEBUMPS and TEEN KNIGHT. Lemche's theatre credits include LAUGHTER ON THE 23RD FLOOR, DILATORY RESOLVE and OPENING NIGHT.

Lemche won the 1998 Gemini Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Supporting Role in a Dramatic Series for EMILY OF NEW MOON.

"I can guarantee you my parents will not go see this movie, and will probably deny to anyone who asks that I was ever in it, and that’s good. I think if you’re offending people, if people are taken aback, you’ve made an impact. I hope there are people that love it and I hope there are people that hate it." Kris Lemche on Ginger Snaps

Heh... I'm like on this sorta misson to find any/all quotes from Kris.

I came across an article about JoA and some of the actors/actresses that play God. I posted the entire article on the Incarnations of God thread, but here are the Kris/Cute Boy parts.

*

What if God was one of them?

"Joan of Arcadia" has cast several actors as the deity in the hourlong Friday night drama on CBS. It's an interesting resume entry, and "God gets some good lines," said Kris Lemche, the Cute Boy version of the Almighty.

[...]

Amber Tamblyn seeks answers from the Almighty, taking the form of Cute Boy Kris Lemche, in "Joan of Arcadia," a CBS drama that provides employment to several actors as different versions of God.

Personal touches

The challenge of playing God "could be a very difficult situation, but fortunately it is not," Lemche, 25, said in a phone interview. "I am sort of blessed - no pun intended - by working with Amber. She is just awesome."

The Joan character has had some of her most forthright moments with Lemche's God, including telling Him she is angry with Him. Exchanges with God begin the moment Joan recognizes the deity, so there's no buildup for the actors.

"Going in there and doing something tough from a cold start could be very hard, but she basically gives me a million things to work with, and I try to reciprocate," he said of working with Tamblyn.

[...]

Honorable, honored

For Lemche, seeing the first script for "Joan" for an audition was refreshing.

"In the pilot season ... the ratio of good to bad is so outweighed by the bad. When you see something like this, it's such a struggle to get on board, to be with that rather than something you just collect a paycheck for," Lemche said in a phone interview.

Lemche, who has been cast in four episodes, said he keeps track of "Joan" by reading scripts of shows he's not in.

"As weird as it sounds, I'm trying to track the character of God. He is witty and sarcastic, and you get the feeling it's a personal relationship."

[...]

Divine words for Joan

"Let me explain something to you, Joan. It goes like this: I don't look like this. I don't sound like this. I don't look like anything you'd recognize. You can't see me. I don't sound like anything you'd recognize. You see, I'm beyond your experience. I take this form because it's something your comfortable with. It makes sense to you."

Kris Lemche as Cute Boy God during a first-episode meeting.

Just when I thought my day would suck b/c I had to work... I come online, head straight to FF: JoA board... head straight to this thread and BAM!

Thank you, azuline! I read the Kris snippet here then headed on over to the Incarnations thread and read the rest. Great article!

Oh... I wish I was the interviewer that got to talk to Kris, even though it's via phone. That is mad tight that he keeps track of the various personas. That could be a good thing, right? It could also mean that he'll be back? And I love that picture!

Again, thanks for the article, azuline!
