I'm in shock. I know it was in trouble but I honestly thought CBS would give it a chance. After all it is the same network that stood behind Touched By An Angel and Promise Land I really thought it would decide JoA deserved a third year.

This is just such sad news.

I don't think I have ever been so shocked!! Joan is a good quality show and I cannot believe that the network went ahead and canceled one of the best shows on TV. Joan is the only thing I watch on CBS. Unbelievable.

I was honestly shocked when I read that. Shocked. No words can describe exactly how I feel about it, anger and disappointment for sure.

I really didn't believe it would be cancelled, guess I was naive.

Well, I can’t say I’m much surprised. A little let down, yes; a little disappointed, yeah. But surprised? Not really. I could sit here and blame the writers, or the network, or even the fans, but I’m not going to do that. There’s no one to blame, really. We all know that. When it comes right down to it, television is a business. No matter how much a group of devout fans want to make themselves believe that the network does care about their input and feelings, it all boils down to money. So, if Jennifer Love Hewitt as a cross between Bruce Willis and Robert Redford can bring in more revenue than a thoughtful, clever, and unique show, that’s all the network is going to care about. Is that fair? Not really. But it is life and the real world and it sucks sometimes. Life goes on, the channel changes.

There’s nothing, really, that we can do except remember that for the last two years, we were given some high quality programming, which in and of itself should at least count for something in this era of “The OC” and “The Simple Life.” In an entertainment world filled with unrealistic reality shows and no less than 50 versions of “Law and Order” and “CSI,” we were given a show that made us think, that made us sit back and reevaluate our own lives and the effect those lives have on everything and everyone around us. For one brief moment in time, a network took their viewers seriously. They didn’t insult our intelligence or our morals. They let us know that it’s okay to be an intelligent, moral individual in a society consisting of a majority that blindly follows along with no direction of their own. I, for one, am grateful for that brief moment.

In a world full of negativity, where the news consists of wars and genocide, rapes and murders, for two years we were given a light at the end of the tunnel. A way to feel as though there was something bigger at play, that through all of the violence and all of the hatred everything would find a way to work out. Everything would be okay. That’s one thing I’ll be taking with me. I’ll be taking with me the knowledge that everything will be okay, somehow, and all of the hardships and all of the burdens will somehow make it all worth it. So I thank Barbara Hall and CBS for that, for two years of hope. Two years of finding a little light in the grayness of the real world. Even though we’ve come to the end of the road, at least it’s been one heck of a ride.

I wish the best of luck to all of the cast and crew, Barbara Hall, and, sure, even CBS. Thank you all for making the entertainment world a little bit brighter, if only for a short time.

I'm literally in shock, when I logged onto the forum and saw this topic my mouth flew open and I really couldn't move for a bit as I took it all in.

I really honestly thought it would continue due to all the critical acclaim and the fanbase.

Where do we go from here?

Well, we could always go torch CBS Studios.

Shadowcrawler_05: Took the words right out of my mouth. Ugh. I'm so sad. But lest we forget, Amber's movie is coming out this summer, so go support her in that. I know I will.

You know what's funny? Early this morning I left them positive feedback for the show. Now I just finished leaving a nice, long complaint. Funny how that worked out.

You know what else is funny, in an ironic sort of way? "No Future" is slated to rerun next Friday...
