God's Good bye Wave...

Anyone else notice that God, no matter what the form, waves good bye with his/her right hand?

Little Girl God- Right hand, fingers splayed out a little.

Perky Girl God- (shows up at school, looks like she belongs on the Student Council) Right hand twisted around so her fingers face Joan as she wiggles them good bye.

Cute Boy God- Right hand, just kinda hangs there.

Skater God- Right hand, sorta the same as CBG.

Anyone else have any others, seen him/her wave with the left?

Heh, interesting.

Because I'm a mythology geek, I'm going to reach on this one.

In Ancient Roman/Greek culture (y'know, those really early religious people?), they believed the gods preferred one hand/side to the other. Hence the Latin words "dextra" (right) and "sinistra" (left).

But they were reversed. That is, the Romans thought Juppiter/Zeus (that really big, adulterous, king of all gods guy) 'sneezed' to his right when he approved of something, and to his left when he didn't. The Greeks thought left was approval, and right was disapproval.

...Odd, huh?

Okay, I thought I was right when I had never seen her/him never wave with her/his left hand. And yeah, that is odd and interesting at the same time.

Actually, Stoner God (aka: Comfy Jeans God) waved with his left hand in Back To the Garden.
I think that's the only time I"ve ever seen the left-handed wave...

I have to say, my favorite wave is CBG's. It kinda lingers in the air, just like what he usually has just said kinda lingers there while Joan mulls it over.

He did? I never saw, must be doing it just to be different from the others. Anyway, yeah I like CBG's wave too and is it just me or was his wave sorta sad when Joan "broke up" with him.

The stoner God left hand wave is right at the end..but the first time he waved it was with his right hand

Yeah..I definitely got the sad/disappointed vibe from CBG's wave in that episode...
Man, I love Kris Lemche!

There have been 2 or 3 episodes when God did NOT wave at the end of his/her encounter with Joan. Does anyone know under what circumstances God doesn't wave? There must be something unique about those events...

Well from a small child, I've always known the right was assoicated with the gods while left was assoicated with the devil. I don't know, but that's very perceptive of you.

Maybe if he/she waves with the left had, he knows something wrong is going to happen.

That's possible. Or maybe God just likes to change things every once in a while. ~shrug~
